How do I check to see if a coast to coast moving company is in good standing?

I need 10 Pieces of Nautilus ONE exercise equipment moved from Pleasanton, Ca to Suburban Long Island in NY. I need a company specializing in this. How do I find an experienced moving company, with references, to do this.

Learn to Spot Good Service
When the company gives you an estimate, a sign of good service will be them showing up to your house to do a thorough survey of the home. They should also provide you with all the documents you’re meant to have including the Bill of Lading, the inventory list and a copy of "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move" - a booklet created by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration that lays out everything required of a moving company. Another tip is to search for reviews of the company
Items Not Allowed on a Moving ...
Be sure to donate or properly dispose of any unwanted goods, and items you will not be able to transport on a commercial moving truck. Typically, movers will not move dangerous/hazardous items like chemicals or any machinery filled with gasoline, matches, explosives, ammunition aerosol cans, etc. Plants and animals will also need to be moved separately. It is not advised to put any personal documents on the moving truck like social security cards, deeds, stocks, car titles, etc.
Always check if movers are ...
In order to be certain that you’re hiring a reputable company to handle your move, make sure they are properly licensed and registered. All interstate movers are required to register for a DOT number (Dept. of Transportation) by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
