Do Not Use Big Ben Movers
They were so in professional. Neither the time nor the price they quoted were accurate. They showed up 7 hours late & then would not in lock the truck unless I gave them $200 more. We helped them move the furniture because thru kept saying "it won't fit". Guess what it did ! However, I had to direct them how to go it. When I called the office they would not answer, left a message & no return calls. They should not be in business !! Awful, untrustworthy, arrogant & lazy as hell !!!

Price was double what was quoted. Delivery was NOT when they said it would be. Company insisted that delivery would be Friday Sept. 7, at 2 pm. At 3:30 we called & was told they would be here by 5pm. 7 pm, no delivery no call. We were told that it would all be on the truck that was loaded in Great Neck, there was a change of trucks to a subcontractor on whose truck things had just been thrown on like rubbish. Our contract stated that anything that had been dismantled would be put back together, that wasn't done. Most hardware for beds and table and diningroom buffet and hutch was missing. MANY items broken and/or damaged! Many items missing. I have tried to call Big Ben a number of times and told that the person I need to speak to is unavailable. I have never had the courtesy of a return call. I was even told by an employee "what do you wantt me to do about it very rudely.
A full inventory of broken, damaged and missing will be submitted. expect you to do the right thing. For the record, the "mover" who did arrive here had other people's belongings in the truck mixed up with mine, he started to bring in a very large screen new panasonic tv. I told him that it was not mine. I could have said nothing, but I wouldn't do that. I only want what is rightfully mine.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give ...
First of all, they were four days late. The moving truck broke down and they didn't tell me when they were coming to pick up my stuff. Then, they were very difficult to reach by phone and even if I managed to get through to them, they didn't answer the phone. Also, their final price was much higher, by several hundred dollars, than the quoted price. Finally, the staff was friendly when they came for pickup, but when I got my stuff down in North Carolina, they sent only one man. They didn't have a crew anymore.

Big Ben
Very poor service by this mover. Truck arrived 8 hours late, upon which an increased cost was attempted to be extracted from us. The lump sum cost quote, confirmed with Big Ben management prior to the move, was said to be an "estimate" only. This was settled after another hour of delay. The Big Ben truck was damaged when it arrived in Boston and broke down on the way to NJ. A vauable painting was misplaced when the load was transferred to another truck and has not been recovered. A number of items of furniture were damaged, with damages somewhat hidden by Big Ben.
