Does a car have to be registered to be shipped?

In order to ship your vehicle, most car shipping companies will require you to provide certain documents before they can transport your car.

These usually include: a copy of insurance and vehicle registration as proof that the car is yours and that you have the right to ship it.

So, when you're looking to transport your vehicle, make sure you have all the necessary documents and other paperwork in one place.

Also, inspect your vehicle thoroughly to be aware of its condition before you ship it. Take a note of any scratches, dents or cracks in the headlights etc., on the inspection report. Read the bill of lading very carefully before signing it and make sure it includes proper information including your vehicle, it's destination and insurance.
