Hello and thank you for contacting Movers.com with your question.

An auto transport company must have the state-specific licensing that is required by the state that the company operates out of. Then the company is registered with the FMCSA, or the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Then they are registered with a US DOT number from the United States Department of Transportation. But the DOT number registration is only required by law in 28 states.

Some auto transport companies handle both brokerage and transport. If you're only shipping one car, you wouldn't necessarily need to have a bond.

To find local auto transporters in Mississippi, you can head over the auto transport section of our website and type in your zip code. From there, you will be connected with up to seven companies that can help you ship your car. Once you find a company that you like, you can call and ask about having a bond.

I hope this was helpful and good luck with your move!
