We are moving from Bronx, NY to Tampa, FL; we dont have much stuff to move. We are looking for a moving company who can deliver our stuff within 3-5 days (max). Any advise?

Hi there and thanks for visiting Movers.com!

Moving from the Bronx to sunny south Florida sounds like a nice change in scenery, one that you'll need a long distance moving company for.

Long Distance Moves

Any move more than 100 miles is considered a long distance move, so moving from NY to Florida would obviously fit in that category.

Since you don't have much stuff to move, your move should be relatively "cheap" considering most companies base their price on how much your items weigh for long distance moves. Your pick up and delivery can vary. Generally, the company will load your items onto a truck along with other customers' goods headed for the same direction, sharing space saves you money.

Because of the shared space, sometimes your items will be placed in a warehouse and then transferred to another truck before being delivered to their final destination. Whichever company you decide on will give you a window of when your goods will be delivered usually seven to 10 days, depending on how far the goods have to go. Be sure to inform any company you may be considering of any time contraints so that they can give you a proper estimate. A rush service may cost extra, so be prepared to pay an extra fee if this is the case.

DIY Moving

Another option would be to pack your items yourself and drive them down on your own schedule. If driving the truck isn't a viable option you can hire someone to drive it for you which may in the end be even cheaper than using a company for the entire move.
