Hello, thank you for contacting Movers.com with your question. You have two options to take action against your moving company if items were lost during transit.
Submit a claim.
For missing items from your move, first you will have to contact your moving company to submit a claim. You should be able to do this without a receipt. Check your entire shipment and make an inventory of everything that's missing. You should also have the bill of lading number on hand if you have it. You will need as much information as possible to give to the moving company.
Unfortunately, most moving companies require you to make a claim within nine months of your delivery date so if two years have passed, they do not legally have to acknowledge it.
File a complaint.
You can also file a complaint with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration or the Better Business Bureau. It will help the FMCSA and BBB identify companies that have violated commercial regulations.
Thank you again for your question, and good luck!
