DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

If you value your belongings at all DO NOT use Jordan East River Moving Company. They are neglectful with your possessions and do not treat them with care at all. Boxes clearly marked fragile were returned crushed and damaged, large pieces of furniture that were wrapped by them were returned damaged beyond repair and unusable. For example, they broke the right front leg on my TV stand, the screw was bent almost in half and the wood was splintered so it couldn’t be replaced. They also lost a desk and a travel backpack full of clothing. The backpack was never located. The desk was missing for more than a week and when it was located and returned the sturdy metal legs of the desk were bent inward so far that the metal is cracked at the seams, so even though it will still stand upright placing something as heavy as computer equipment on it will surely make it collapse. While some bumps and bruises are to be expected when moving, nothing in the expected/normal wear and tear of moving would cause this kind of damage. On top of being neglectful with your personal belongings despite being paid thousands of dollars to move them, they are deceitful when supplying information to the customer. They tell you it will take 14 days to receive your items, it is not until you call to verify when your items will arrive that they tell you its 14 business days. When something goes missing and is damaged they tell you that they can’t offer you more than the pennies on the dollar because you didn’t get the extra insurance as if it is something you have opted out of, when the extra insurance is never actually offered to you. If you’re wondering why there aren’t many negative reviews given the terrible things I’ve just detailed it’s because if you take the pennies they offer you, you have to sign a form saying that you won’t write “disparaging” reviews, and if you have already written one it will be taken down. So to receive any money to replace or fix the damage caused by their neglect you aren’t allowed to tell the truth about how they conduct business. Like most people moving in NYC once you put your information out there you are bombarded with calls regarding your move. I was truly overwhelmed by the volume of calls I was receiving and the only thing that stuck out like a sore thumb was ANSWERS. The sales rep that called me, Danielle I believe her name was, was able to answer all of my question AND provide me with a fair quote in just a few minutes ! Even after I took a few days to respond she politely reached out just to check if I was okay and ASKED me what needed to be done to help me make the right decision. Ultimately price was not what I was concerned about I was more concerned that my Items were in good hands because I was moving many sentimental items. She provided me TONS of reassurance and ultimately I chose Jordan River. I was more than pleased with my move. And even though I hopefully never have to move again I will recommend Jordan River to all of my family friends and colleagues that I know moving in the NYC area. Read more
