This was by far the worst experience ...
First of all, what they quoted me over the phone, was a very good rate. I'll admit that. I asked every question possible - there's a floor they have to go up. They said the first floor is complimentary. I double checked it with them because I had previously used moving companies and most of them charged extra if they are using stairs. I asked them a couple of times, "Are you sure that the first floor is free?" He assured me that the first floor was free. After they went to go pick up all the stuff at the storage unit, my representative was there. They picked everything up. They gave her the wrong paper. They literally put the wrong numbers on the paper. What I mean by that is the amount of stuff, the cubic feet, accumulate.

They were late and told me how much I ...
I'm going be honest. There were a few things I wasn't happy with. When the movers picked us up in North Carolina, number one he was four hours late. Which we dealt with it. We didn't say anything. He was actually two days and four hours. His excuse was he didn't have the stuff he needed to move us. He had to find somebody in Salisbury, NC in order to get it. Then he shows up at 5 o'clock. When he showed up after he did the little that he did, the other guy did most of it who was extremely nice. I'm not saying the other guy wasn't nice but he goes through this 10 minute spiel to me about how I'm supposed to tip him and most of the time they get $100 a piece. We had very little things. Ours were a very, very small amount of stuff as you can see on the paper. For me, for him to tell me he gets $100 a piece, I was like "Whoa, what?' He said for smaller things, we get at least $50 each. If I wanted to tip, I felt that was my prerogative. I didn't need to be told that.

Beyond despicable
Absolutely terrible experience. Everything started wonderfully, with a decent quote, helpful and responsive salesperson, all the right answers...Then our things were picked up and they informed us we would have to pay for the shipping materials and so much more $$ for extra items, even though we started with a very detailed inventory. We were supposed to have our things delivered in just over a week. Then we were told they were delayed. Weeks went on and we were told the truck broke down. Eventually I got a call from the driver that she quit. Our household things were not in anyone's possession while they waited in the broken truck in the Texas heat. When our things were finally delivered we realized our TVs, sound systems, power tools, pressure washer...so many valuable things were missing. Our furniture was horribly scratched, broken and the boxes looked like they had been thrown around haphazardly. Throughout the experience, as soon as they had our things on their truck the company was unhelpful, apathetic, frustrating and non-responsive. Now they're saying it was a rogue ex-employee who stole our things and they want to pay us sixty cents a pound for our missing electronics. Not to mention that the driver who delivered the items wasn't even properly licensed. There's so much more I could add, but the bottom line is: Do not even for a moment consider using North America Moving.
