Moving Tips & Guides
Always Get Insurance
The default compensation movers provide for damaged goods is 60 cents per pound per article – otherwise known as Released Value protection. It’s always a good idea to purchase extra insurance to ensure that your items are fully covered against damage. Full Value Protection holds the movers liable for replacing the broken or lost item with something similar, repairing the item or compensating you with its full cash value.
Tips for Moving in the Fall
In the fall, the leaves change colors and the weather changes as well, so it's also a good time to change addresses if you're considering moving. If you don't want the hectic stress of moving during the hot summer months and want a better deal from a moving company, you might consider moving during the fall. This guide will explain the benefits and drawbacks of moving during the fall season, so you can better prepare yourself for your upcoming relocation.
Only consider in-house estimates ...
Moving companies that only give estimates over the phone could be fraudulent. Even if you describe things in painstaking detail, there is always something that you forget or some unknown feature of your home that could present a problem for the movers, which could end up costing you more for the move. In-house estimates are more accurate because the moving company’s representative can access the actual size and weight of the shipment and the layout and location of your home.

How Long Does it Take Movers to ...
Packing can be a time-consuming and exhausting process, but it's also a vital one and one of the most important parts of the moving process. You can choose to handle it yourself if you like a challenge, or you may choose to hire trained professionals to take care of the job for you. If you take the second road, you might be wondering how long it would take them to pack your house and what kind of factors go into figuring out how the process works.

Good Experience
Majestic Movers
I think they did everything that they could do to get us there the same day, and they did it and that was my biggest concern. That is why I used them. They said they would pick up that day and get her (my daughter) moved into her apartment in Chicago the same day, which they did. I think the only thing they did was that they broke an overhead light cover when they were carrying furniture in. But my daughter hasn't anything about the apartment complex holding her responsible or anything. They said if we get a bill to just send it to Majestic Movers and they'll take care of it.

Just OK
Hoover The Mover
There were a few things that were broken that were irreplaceable. Overall it was a good experience, overall it was a good experience, they were pretty efficient, there were a few things that could've been packed a little better so they didn't break. I didn't get a quote from other companies because they wouldn't come make a physical evaluation, they wanted to do it over the phone and whenever I did get someone to come out, they wanted to use their evaluation.
