||Moving Tips & Guides|
Background Checks on Your Moving ... |
Be sure to find out if the company you’re interested in hiring is reputable by performing your own background check. Search for reviews from previous customers, search for the company on the Better Business Bureau’s website and be sure to ask for references from previous customers. Make sure you feel completely comfortable with the moving company you choose before entrusting them with all your belongings.
Always Look into Added Insurance ... |
When hiring a moving company, be sure to familiarize yourself with their insurance policies and what they do and do not cover during a move. Some companies only offer a small amount of reimbursement for items that become damaged during a move (only 60 cents per pound!). Making sure you know ahead of time what percentage of your items will be covered may make your decision easier.
Multiple Quotes are Better |
When looking for a moving company, one isn’t enough. Be sure to get multiple quotes from at least three different moving companies. Don’t just choose the company that offers the lowest rate for your move -- the quality may match the price. Instead, get a few to choose from and ask a lot of questions. Make your decision based on price and services.
Standard Moving Costs |
The cost of a typical move can vary greatly, depending on several factors that include the size of the move, the distance of the move and whether other services are included. But if you’re wondering how much you should expect to pay for a typical move so you can prepare your budget and your bank account, read more to find out.
Types of Moving Vehicles |
Regardless of how far away you are moving and the amount of stuff you bring with you, you are likely to need a truck. You may plan on renting one to drive yourself, or you might decide to hire a moving company to transport your things for you. Either way, there are many different trucks and vans designed for different types of moves. The following is a list of the most common trucks and moving vans.

Economic Moving Group
|A good family friend referred me to Economic Movers, by far the best moving experience i ever had, i have had moved 5 times in the past 12 years and i have always got a deal through a broker, it was always a mess and i found my self consistently dealing with terrible companies,there was always an issue, an over charge or things missing, thanks to these guys they changed my whole perspective about moving. they showed up on time, they had the right tools and since i wasn’t dealing with a broker that is only worried about his commission i was able to ask questions and i get updates through out the whole process, i highly recommend everyone to hire this guys.|

Full House Movers Inc
|This is truly the worst experience I've ever had!! So they quoted us about $2200 to move, showed up and wanted an extra $1200!!!! I hadn't accumulated anything extra in the week or 2 since talking to them, but no way was I going to pay 1200! I had to move that day so I threw away and gave away a bunch of our stuff and STILL ended up paying $2600+. Unbelievable. Then to top it all off, they just left our stuff in the truck and never moved at all for 2 weeks!!! Meanwhile we are calling about our stuff, dispatch never knows where they are, when they are coming or anything useful. Now we just get voicemail. We can't reach the drivers, for all we know they took off with our stuff and we'll never see it again! Last i heard it had been 2 weeks and they still hadn't even started driving with our stuff yet. Blamed it on the weather. ??%0d%0aWe are out even more money because we couldn't stay in our new house yet without any sort of clothes, furniture, dishes, baby stuff, etc. We had just the essentials for a week to week and a half (a reasonable amount of time for the transition), and a very short term place to stay, just enough time for them to arrive with the stuff. My husband had to delay starting his new job because his work clothes and tools are on the truck which NEVER EVEN LEFT for 2 whole weeks!! I mean seriously, WTF??? Not to mention we had to extend our stay (more money), eat out because we have nothing to cook with (more money), find somewhere to launder our clothes (more money), get a few things for the baby, it's just positively unreal. Edited to add: I just found out they used to go by the name Triple 7 Movers in Nevada, then went to California and went by the name Full house movers, then moved to Washington but kept the name. They've had countless complaints and were investigated by the BBB, then they shut down. Only to pop up elsewhere....|

|They lost all of my belongings|
Lincoln Moving & Storage Co
|They lost all my belongings I had stored with them. I spent two days gathering receipts and proof of what was stored with them to fill out a claim. A month later, they came back to me with a fraction of the value I had stored with them. They even accused me of lying about items on the claim and decided to give me zero value for them. They're not even willing to reimburse me on the storage costs so I basically paid them to lose my belongings. I'm currently in the process of looking for a lawyer since they seem to not be willing to update their offer. If you're looking for storage in Seattle, use anyone but this company! Also, I used Closetbox to pick up my stuff and store it with them so if you use Closetbox make sure they are not storing with Lincoln Moving |
