Residential moving or house movers as they are popularly called fall into two categories - local and long distance movers. Local moves are charged by the hour and the final sum may be affected by the use of additional services like packing. Long distance moves are based on weight. You should opt for a binding estimate which is valid for 60 days. In case where you cannot get a binding estimate, be aware that according to federal regulations you should not be charged more than 10 percent of your estimate - binding or non binding.
