Scam Artist at it's best!

If they had less than one star rating, I would put it here. Scam artist, and I didn't even select them, but rather selected by another scam company in FL known as Gold Standard moving and storage of Pompano Beach. Over charged us, misled us by severely under quoting our move, then giving our stuff to these guys. Nobody answers the phone, and voicemail is full. Took well over 20 business days, actually almost 40, just to move a 2 bedroom apartment with no appliances or dining room or living room. Then they gave my stuff to a third company to drive it to FL, arrived with damages, a driver that was lazy and angry, didn't rebuild furniture, and the wanted a tip? The move was quoted to me at $3,700 in April, total came to slightly over 9k! don't be a victim. Rent a U-Haul or rent a POD, Red Rover, whatever, and do it yourself. You won't have any issues. Is that how you run a business Nathan? If you are so reputable, then why don't you answer your calls and clean out your voicemail? I'm filing a complaint with BBB, but I will make sure that officials in Bergen county, Nassau County, Broward county, as well as Dade county get notified of my complaint, and have submitted all of our documents and emails to Help me Howard in both NY and South FL who are both planning to take the story on air. And don't respond with a "never had you as a customer", or I will post a copy of our binding agreement so that everybody can see the fraud that this company is. You kept my 3 kid's toys, clothes and beds away from them for over a month and a half then damaged it. You should be embarrassed to even be in business.

Be aware, this company will over ...

Do not believe ANY positive review, it's all a scam. This company literally robbed us and damaged most of our stuff, read below to understand more.  We were initially dealing with the managers Nattan and Oren Ovadia, they required a deposit to confirm our booking and we were good with everything up to this point. Then the sloppiness and the red flags will start when they were coming to load our stuff in, we agreed on a time window and of course, they didn't respect that and only came in when it was convenient for them. Then after they loaded our stuff in the truck, they quoted us a much higher price than originally discussed, we were shocked and at this point, it was too late to back out as they had all of our stuff loaded in the truck. At this point, they have our belongings and we agreed with the management team that our boxes and furniture will stay in their storage facility in NJ for up to 30 days (it was a part of our contract). Then exactly 19 days later, we receive a phone call from the truck driver SAMER, who said our stuff is scheduled to be delivered to our Florida address, at that point, we were still in our Massachusetts address where the stuff was picked up from. We informed Samer of the arrangement we had with the company and he basically doesn't care and need to follow instructions from his managers. They completely dropped the ball by releasing our stuff without informing us or meeting the deadline, then we were given no choice but to call our new apartment leasing agent and to re-negotiate lease terms and basically agreed with them to let the movers in our new home so they can deliver our stuff , little did we know, our stuff didn't get delivered to the new property because SAMER "couldn't" get in the parking lot in a truck and didn't want to deal with stairs. Then he offered us to move our stuff to a shuttle for a $500 fee but the issue with the stairs remains. After a lot of back of forth, we finally decided to get a storage unit and we agreed that Samer and his team will drop our stuff there, this was all happening while we are still on the road towards Florida. little did we know, when we finally arrived 3 days after our stuff was dropped off, we were shocked to see that all our boxes were definitely not handled with care, pretty much all of our boxes were ripped open and it gets worse, one box was MISSING (aka stolen) which has all of our expensive electronics and it leads me to believe that it was done intentionally. We contacted the managers to retrieve our missing box and they completely denied this and they are accusing us of lying. They absolutely refuse to take responsibility for any of this and then we started a claim with them and it's been a couple of months now and we haven't heard back. If you would like to deal with a scamming company that will vandalize your personal belongings and steal from you, then the choice is yours. 

Rude staff,poor service

I had the misfortune of working with these guys and I will suggest everyone to stay from them. They were friendly unto the point they got the advance for my move. After that they became almost hostile. The three guys who did my move were very unfriendly and were cribbing about everything. They refused to move my couch saying it does not fit through the door and left it in the garage. They broke lots of my furniture as well and I suspect they swindled a few small items that we never found. When I raised it with their adjustor,CSI for claims I got a message that business (Great American Van Lines) will handle my claims directly. They never did. I raised it with them multiple times but in vain. I raised it with Better Business Bureau (complaint# 14657706) to which they responded saying they sent me a check for my damages that I never received. They never even told me the check amount. Obviously,they lied. All these conversations are on BBB.org. And upon following up on BBB they refused to answer anything. I should have checked them up on BBB before hiring them. They possibly have the worst BBB score of D-.

THE WORSE COMPANY!!!

This has been the worse moving company experience ever! Do not believe the 5 star reviews, this company is a scam! I was quoted one price and when the unprofessional movers finished loading all my furniture in their truck they said my final quote was for more that 6K!! I had no choice but to accept it because I was moving in 3 days to another state. I did not have the time to find another moving company. On top of that they hustled us to pay them an additional $400 tip, because they gave us a "discount". When I called them to deliver my furniture it took 4 weeks to arrive, mind you every week I was being told my things were being loaded to the truck that same week! On the last week I called they said my things would MAYBE be loaded on the truck over the weekend but they did not promise anything. This was on a Friday, Saturday morning I get a call that my things were being delivered on Sunday and that I better have the remaining money in cash. I didn't even get a call to confirm my things were actually loaded. It gets worse! Sunday the driver comes demanding I pay him before they unload the truck! WTH!! When my husband asked the driver Samer a question he was extremely rude and demanded that we pay him. Not pay the company but to pay him through Zelle. We had no choice again but to pay for our furniture. As the other movers were unloading the furniture, I noticed most of the boxes were torn, or broken. My furniture was not properly wrapped, it did not have to proper blankets to cover it. Most of our things where broken, or shattered. When we brought it to the drivers attention he said because we didn't use "their" boxes there was nothing they could do. Over all this was such a disaster!

NO STARS - OVER A YEAR LATER STILL ...

Our initial contact was with **** ****** who referred us to Morty at *** ***** *** ****s who referred the job to Mirit Great American. Morty quoted a price of $5742.80. The day of the move the movers quoted us a price of $8,684.00, while moving our belongings onto the truck. At this point there was no turning back. With tips this move cost us close to $10,000. Our belongings were stored in a warehouse in NJ and delivered 21 business days later, which is what we understood. The major problem lies with not receiving all of our belongings.. whether they were lost or stolen who knows. When you call David, Nathan or Susan, they all say we will return your call and no one ever does... well Susan just disconnects the call.... We attempted to communicate with them numerous times about the process regarding delivery. We were never told, nor is it stated anywhere that we were responsible for checking in our belongings at the time of delivery to make sure they were all there. What are we paying them for? Not all of our belongings arrived. I have filed a claim with CSI to replace the missing items to no avail, clearly an alliance. My suggestion for anyone looking to hire a moving company is DO NOT HIRE TRI STATE VAN LINES nor MIRIT GREAT AMERICAN. It is a nightmare from the time you put down your deposit to finish. No star rating. Over a year later still no refund check for damaged goods. No star rating.

Nightmare Experience - Stay Away

The crew arrived 2.5 hours late in July 2020. We were told the crew would wear masks and practice social distancing. They didn't. Masks stayed down around necks and later disappeared entirely. We signed our contract on the day of the move and were not provided a copy. The name of the company on the contract, the name online and the name we ultimately Zelle'ed our final payment to were all different. Our emails came from madisone.tristatevanlines@gmail.com and Tri State Van Lines appeared on our quote. The name on the contract was Mirit - Great American. We sent our final payment to Mega Moving Inc. The crew was not in uniform or anything that might ID them and the truck was a generic Penske. In hindsight that should have been a red flag. The movers explained glass items were not covered for damage if they were not properly wrapped and we could opt to have them wrap items for an extra cost. We paid an extra $75 to have our 40 gal fish tank wrapped. It was a waste of money. The tank came off the truck in pieces. Our $75 was not returned and the insurance included in our contract offered us just $24 as reimbursement. This wasn't the only damage. Nearly everything we own was roughly handled and we saw it happen. We watched one mover push a bookcase, top down across a concrete floor. We watched others stack boxes marked fragile under boxes marked heavy. Boxes and furniture were stacked precariously so that our stuff hit the ground multiple times during the day. At one point, a guy tried to carry a floor lamp with a glass shade dangling by the lamp cord up four flights of stairs. When it was time to settle up, the leader tried to charge us $150 for "stairs and long carry" even though the contract and our quote clearly says there is no extra charge for either. He told us we should pay that money directly to him since "his crew were the ones doing the work." We knew it was a scam but we had planned to tip the men anyway so we paid. Not long after, my husband found him smoking weed behind the truck. At this point, any confidence we had left evaporated. It gets worse. The only elevator broke down with a chest of drawers and 30+ boxes on the ground floor. Our unit was on the fourth floor. It was late and still over 90 degrees outside. We were legitimately afraid this careless, unprofessional crew would drive off and leave us so we paid them an extra $200 cash to carry the last items up four flights of stairs. 3 days after our move, our landlord called to tell us we would have to repair the flooring or lose our security deposit. The movers had gouged several deep gashes in the hardwood. This was a nightmare experience. The crew was careless, dishonest and unprofessional. In the end, we helped carry dozens of boxes up 4 flights of stairs which defeated the purpose of hiring movers. We handed over $400 in cash on top of what we paid the moving company directly. Take Your Business Elsewhere

Please take your business elsewhere. Furniture came in damaged, scratches and dents all over. Whole in the back of the dresser. High value items is completely missing - air purifier that was in the original box and was purchased for over $500 just a few months before the move.

SAVE YOURSELF

This has been the WORST experience I’ve ever had with a business. I needed to move from Northern VA to Chicago IL for a project. I signed a contract on Dec.13. I repeatedly mentioned that I needed delivery on or before Dec. 23 I also mentioned that my building has strict moving rules. They said though she couldn’t guarantee a delivery date as that was against regulations but most moves took 5-7 business days and this definitely would not be a problem. Per my quote I paid a $598 deposit and was supposed to pay $420 on pick up and another $420 on delivery. My things were picked up Dec.18th I was told I was going to receive a call the night before pickup so I could prepare. I did not. I received a call from the driver when he was 30 minutes away from the storage unit. The pickup and drop off prices went up to $463 each. I said fine and tipped them $100 to get my stuff there safe and on time. For the next two and a half weeks I emailed, text messaged, and called trying to get an ETA on the move and to make sure the movers knew about my building requirements. On Jan 15 almost a month from the pickup date I received a call around 5:30 saying they were going to make the delivery the next morning. I said that’s impossible because as I’ve said in all my emails, calls, and texts my building has rules and I need to reserve the elevator as well as register the move. he said he would call base and figure it out. The next day I get a call bunch of calls from them around noon. I call back and he tells me he is 30 minutes away and asks where I want him to put my stuff. I was confused as we just spoke about this was not possible last night. We were both very clear and at no time did he declare his intent to just try and make the delivery anyway. As the conversation progressed it got progressively more rude until a friend that was with me decided to start recording because she was shocked at his tone and behavior. Finally he said I had 20 minutes to figure out or he would leave my stuff on the floor in my lobby or on the curb. In a panic I called my building and begged them to facilitate this delivery as I did not want my things thrown away or stolen. They agreed as long as I paid the $600 unscheduled move in fee. The driver then told me I had to pay the balance first electronically as I was not in town. I refused as I could not verify my furniture was actually there or undamaged. I told him I would transfer the balance the next day when I got back into town. He refused and said he was going to put my things in storage at MY expense. For the next couple days I call and email trying to get an update on the status of my move and a location of my things. Finally I get a call back and they basically tell me if I have to pay an additional $1200 to get my things delivered. At this point I’m done. I despise being taken advantage of and luckily I come from a family of lawyers who hate when businesses hide shady practices behind a contract.

Don't make the mistake of choosing ...

Had Mirit Great American Van Lines doing my move from NJ to CA and that was terrible. I would give than 0 stars if I could. It started by the fact they provided an estimation and, when the truck loaded my belongings, they asked me to pay almost 2 times what was agreed before. I had to leave the house and had no option other than paying them. My belongings were "delivered" by another company named "Allied", with the following slogan on their truck "The careful movers". What a joke. Majority of my belongings were missed or damaged. Truck driver refused to unload the truck and I had to call 911 to get help. I offered to rent a u-haul truck to get my belongings delivered inside that truck, so he could leave, but he refused and told the officers he didn't have time that day and would come back the day next. I didn't agree and they finally unloaded the truck after truck driver was almost arrested for arguing with police officers. After unloading a few items, truck driver said "that's it, I'm leaving"... There was a lot of items missing and he refused to check the inventory list. After a lot of arguing, he left and I decided to open a claim with CSI Pros. It took 1 year to reach an agreement because I gave up discussing and accepted the few bucks there were offering for the huge loss that I had. They never sent the check for the claim they agreed to pay. Nathan and David only lied to me and even to BBB saying they would send it. Federal agencies should shut them off. They are F on BBB, what is the point on having BBB "helping" on it if Mirit Great American Van Lines don't fulfill their word and nothing happens to them? Run away from that company as fast as you can.

Awful and dishonest

I wish I read these reviews before... these guys are awful or they hire (and protect) awful movers. I am filing a police report on them. The only item missing from the inventory list they put together was my sound bar ($550), which was also somehow "lost" even though I have a pic of it in the truck when they were unloading. If they even respond to my calls (which is rare), they would say they will research and call me back in a day or two. This happened 4-5 times and they never call back. This is not to mention all the other issues... being late to pick up our stuff, asking for an additional $500 after loading everything in the truck, and breaking a bunch of my furniture in a way even an amateur can avoid (a box labeled fragile was squashed and destroyed from a very heavy box above it). Even the sound bar was thrown into the truck without any wrapping or protection.

No more hassles for me

Searching for a reliable moving company was hard, but I came across Mirit Great American and they were great. They were very professional and greeted me warmly. They were there every step of the way and assisted with my every need. They handled everything with care. They were on time and very friendly. Everything was taken care of in a delicate manner. We were so thrilled with this wonderful service. I will recommend this great moving company.

Very Affordable And Quick

I am totally lucky to know this company. Because when it comes to moving, I would just opt for Mirit Great American and they would just show up and move my things in a whip. They have this initiative to work. Nice moving skills, keeping the improvements every time I hire them. Great moving company

Appreciation review

My experience with Mirit Great American was phenomenal. They were on-time, amazingly quick and very careful with my things. They wrapped everything up quickly and carefully and got it out and into the truck. They moved me from a 4th floor walk-up in just over 2 hours. The moving team was nice and friendly. That helps a lot. My experience with the booking process was very good as well. They were very quick and responsive on email and phone. Their prices are quite reasonable as well. Highly recommended.

Result oriented movers

I just recently moved and hired Mirit Great American. They moved my 2 bedroom apartment in a timely manner. It was a fast and extremely smooth process. I would highly recommend this moving service because it's a lot quicker and you may even save quite a bit of cash at the end. They made my move so easy and without any hassle. Highly recommended.

Easy to recommend, without any question

We hired Mirit Great American to move a two bedroom apartment. They were very fast with loading and unloading and their initial estimate was very accurate to the work required. The movers were also upfront about parking permits required and did everything safely and by the book. They were friendly and efficient. I felt their rates were very reasonable and would hire them again.

Right choice for a moving company

My moving was excellent right from the first enquiry to leaving us happy in our new home. Their sales representative was very responsive and flexible with moving dates and planning and his team of movers was very professional and friendly. They were very watchful while unpacking. I would definitely recommend to take the hassle out of moving.

The men were very creative while they packed up my belongings. They were super careful with my glassware. It paid off when they delivered everything. I had an amazing experience with Great American Van Lines when moving last month. The process was very quick and easy and I was charged what I expected to spend. Also when I forgot to mention that we needed an item packed in a proper way and Great American Van Lines were there ready to help! I would definitely recommend them to others. honest, hard working, professional, ...

I met Kevin while he was moving a new person into my aunt’s old home. The best way to judge a company is to watch. I did and was impressed. I hired them to move my home to a new home we built...and was glad I did. Honesty...rare but found on 2 occasions during the move. 2 different movers found dollar bills laying on the floor in my daughter’s room and they handed them to me. Not only are they honest but hard working, professional, and knowledgeable. I thought I was good at packing. Kevin put me to shame! Highly recommended

Excellent service

After contacting several movers, I picked up Mirit Great American Inc out of those companies. They promptly replied with reasonably priced quotation. After the move, I now believe, they were the only guys who could’ve solved my moving problem. They did excellent job. They worked hard with happy face throughout the move. I am not writing good words only because they moved me, rather they truly deserved it. I think they have all kind of virtue that a mover should possess. I had no issue on how they worked with perfect wrap and load or delivery. I am now decided not to look further for any mover if I find Mirit Great American Inc in Florida.

very good experience

We had a very good experience with Great American Van Lines from start to finish. Everyone was very nice, easy to work with and professional state side. My experience in maine all the way to florida with the movers was very good. I felt informed about the process along the way via email, and everything arrived here in good condition, with nothing broken. The movers from the pickup were nice, helpful, and efficient. The price was very reasonable. All in all a very good experience and we would use this company again.

My sister lost our grandfather and needed to get a house packed up fast then get it to Boston. We packed and they loaded drove to Frankfort and unloaded as well. We got lucky finding these guys. Price was more than fair.

I've used so many moving companies before. There was always an issue of some sort, hidden fees, broken/misplaced items, unprofessional movers, the list goes on and on. I was hesitant in hiring another moving company, but hate moving myself so the choice was clear. I came across Great American Van Lines and must say I was pleasantly surprised. They reassured me and instilled confidence back in me and my decision to hire them for my move. I was pleased they did and that I chose them. They were amazing. Everything was as they told me and spelled out. Since using their service, I have referred them to all of my friends and family who have all had great moves and were very pleased. How many companies can you say go above and beyond? I can certainly vouch for them and say they do.

I originally went online looking for a long distance moving company, I filled out a form and I instantly received about 10 calls from movers interested in my business. When Nathan from Great American Van Lines explained the whole process to me, I knew I found the company I was looking for. He was so clear on how every step was going to work. The day the movers showed up was exactly how he said it would be. My furniture was delivered in a week to my new home. I was very impressed with the movers. They did such a great job.

I was impressed with the care they took in moving everything. Dressers, appliances were wrapped in a pad and then wrapped in plastic before moving to truck. Brought boxes for hang up items. They had to move from the basement and on the main floor. They took care and were always attentive about what our desires were.

I was moving some household items and Great American Van Lines were very accommodating with the large amount of items I had. Other companies either wouldn't do my move or they would charge astronomical fees. They showed up on time and treated all of my belongings with care. Reliable moving company

I relocate every few years for my job. And it’s always so hectic given the unprofessional moving companies messing everything up. I hired Mirit Great American for the last time I relocated. This was the easiest move of my life. I usually have to negotiate with the moving companies for hours. But this company gave me such a reasonable quote that I didn’t have to say another word. Their crew was very efficient and needed almost no supervision. They packed all my items with great care and then loaded them onto the 2 vans. They were in and out of my apartment. I expected having to clean up massive amounts of packing materials once they left but I was relieved to see that they had cleaned after themselves. My belongings arrived few days later as promised and everything was in very good condition.

I would absolutely recommend them!

I just finished a move with Great American Van Lines and I was extremely pleased. We worked with Dana as my sales rep and she was kind courteous, always upbeat and a real pro. We moved from New York to Illinois. They kept our stuff in storage for 4 weeks until we found our new place. Everything went smooth as silk from start to finish. Our job was done by Great American Van Lines not a subcontractor. I had a great experience and would recommend them to anyone.

I have always been scared of moving because of the hassle it brings. Mirit Great American made my move so easy. I can’t thank my friend enough for suggesting this company. They took over all the responsibilities on their shoulders and did such a fine job. They maintained their schedules and transported every piece of my belongings safely.
