Our move was a disaster due to the Mayflower/VIP Transport/Unigroup’s misrepresentations, fraudulent practices, incomplete inventory, lack of appropriate resources, failure to provide promised services, careless packing, theft or loss of tens of thousands of dollars of property, and wilful disregard of COVID-19 protocols. Despite false advertising regarding their personnel’s COVID-19 training, during both loading and unloading there were no masked personnel unless directed by us and then the crew reluctantly complied for only a few minutes. There was no social distancing practiced and there was no sanitizing of hands or surfaces. Not a “budget” move (we paid over $20,000) we expected a modicum of professionalism and all we got were lies and awful service. This is reported as a service because no one should have to suffer the injuries we have. Despite written assurances and guarantees, they used almost exclusively “day laborers” who had to ask what the “fragile” stickers on our boxes meant. We have not completed our assessment of damaged and missing items yet, but currently our insurance claim exceeds $150,000. Appropriate reviews have been left, surveys completed, legal remedies begun, as well as reporting to the Better Business Bureau and all applicable licensing authorities.
