Figuring out how many movers you'll need to move your apartment can be tricky – the amount of laborers is based on the size of your current apartment, amount of furniture, distance of the move and how long it will take. You can take a look at our guides for more information on pricing moves for a one-bedroom, two-bedroom, or three-bedroom apartment. If you are in need of a moving quote, you can do that right here at Movers.com as well.

How many movers will I need?

Typically, your move will require between two and four movers to complete the job in a timely manner. When you receive in-house estimates from your potential moving company, the number of movers should be discussed. For an apartment, you'll most likely need two or three maximum if it is a local move. You'll want to let your potential mover know what floor you're on and if you have any furniture exceeding 250 lbs. In this case, three movers may be essential in order to properly and safely transport your heavy items from one place to the next.

What will it cost me?

Keep in mind that costs will vary based on which moving company you choose, which is why it is important for you to get at least three estimates before you commit to hiring any service. Make sure you know what questions to ask when getting the estimates, too. On average, hourly moving rates for two men with a truck is approximately $170 per hour (local moves), but can be as low as $100 per hour depending on the company and the area you live in.
