Well they were there on time, they stayed as long as I needed them, they did everything that was asked of them and I would highly recommend them again. The only complaint we had was that they used regular sticky tape instead of moving tape and on a couple of items, when we unpacked them, the tape was so sticky that it took off the veneer in two places. Several pieces damaged

Yeah we had damage, several pieces. They also lost a couple of pieces that we couldn't find anywhere in the house, they said they took it off the truck. The one piece that they lost is going to cost me $200 to replace. Then of course I had some memorabilia stuff where the glass was broken on it and my entire dresser legs they broke off. Read more

Terrible Planning

Moving is stressful. So,when they show up at your house two hours late,it compounds the headaches. The man who finally arrived were great. They careful he loaded all of our items and left our home at 1:15 PM. Somehow,they showed up 4 hours and 40 minutes later (distance of 140 miles) and did not understand why I was frustrated. Please do not use this moving company!

This is a very long review, but please read! On June 5, 2015 we hired A-1 Allstate movers to move our belongings out of our three bedroom, three story town home. When the movers arrived, I was dismayed to find that neither one spoke ANY English, which caused an array of issues in regards to instructions for removal and placement of items. They brought an undersized truck, causing two very long trips to the new home. And their improper and careless moving techniques, i.e. dragging furniture with full drawers still in them, not wrapping/covering furniture, and literally tossing lighter items into the truck, caused a significant amount of damage. This damage includes, among other things, multiple scrapes, large scratches, chips, dents, etc. to the entire wooden stairwell, second and third level floors. We have made considerable efforts to resolve this matter with Mr. Marlon Serrano. This includes multiple phone calls, emails, and hour long round trips to a home that we already moved out of. Mr. Serrano has been very slow to respond and unprofessional in all cases. Mr. Serrano initially claimed that it was impossible to get a quote from a qualified wood floor contractor and that we would have to either wait a month or get a quote on our own. We therefore found a qualified contractor and requested a quote from them. The quote totals $2,416.50 for full repair of the damage caused by A-1 Allstate Movers, Inc. Mr. Serrano indicated that he wanted his own contractor, who suddenly became available, to provide us with a quote. My husband met said contractor and was dismayed to find that this contractor was completely unqualified and uninsured. When asked to give a brief explanation of any of his past experience, company history, references and insurance information the contractor could not provide anything. The contractor stated that they were uninsured and my husband came to suspect that they were not legally allowed to work in the United States. The contractor, who spoke very poor English, instructed an associate, who did not speak any English, to call Mr. Serrano. My husband expressed our extreme dissatisfaction with A-1 Allstate Movers and their refusal to provide any remedy whatsoever to the dispute. Mr. Serrano stated that he would never provide an insured worker to fix the problem and hung up the phone promptly before finishing the conversation. We researched A-1 Allstate Movers and found violations of government regulations: 1. Their USDOT authorization was involuntarily revoked in May of 2014 and was only reinstated in April of 2015. However, they continued to operate without the required legal authority. 2. They have an unauthorized USDOT number registered with TXDOT. We are filing a lawsuit naming A-1 Allstate Movers as the defendant in Precinct 7 of Harris County and are also seeking out other claimants and will assist them in filing additional lawsuits using a newly created website: http://www.al Read more

STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!!!

I hired 3 guys to show up at 9 am to move office furniture. 2 guys showed up at 10 am without tools so I had to buy tools. Then they took the furniture apart, mixed up all the pieces and couldn't put it back together. They left at 5 pm and promised to come back the next day and finished but they never showed up. I called the company and they said they would investigate it and call me back but they never did even after a second call from me. I disputed the charge on my credit card company and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they responded by lying and saying that they came back out but I had already put the furniture together. Worst Company Ever

This company is horrible! The guys showed up late. They damaged some of my property and charged my card twice for the move. I was unable to contact anyone with the company or get a return call for over a week. When I finally spoke with someone to complain about my damaged property he was very rude and unapologetic. The movers were late but other than ...

It was relatively good. They went - they were a little - in fact they were a good bit late arriving. We never did hear from them. We called the company and they said that they would find out what's going on and then he got back and said that you know, he would be there in 45 minutes, but that was about an hour and a half later so I was you know, a little distressed at first because I only had such a length - you know - small window there to move and then I never heard anything from him that he was changing. It was good, the only complaint I have is that I thought they had given the address to the people that were coming to move me but the address we had to go to was a storage unit and then go to my apartment. So everything I explained to them over the phone I had to explain to the movers. Read more

Unfortunately it wasn't a good one. I had put everything that I had to move including a pool table and when I got home, my wife said they're not moving the pool table because they didn't have the tools and didn't know they had to move it. I pulled up my email confirmation and showed them, and they said if they missed it they would come back the next day but it would be an extra charge, so I told them no, I'm not doing that. So they loaded the whole house and everything I just wish they did the pool table too. Read more

Prompt service fair prices

Overalll good. They were prompt on time. They were able to move everything that we needed moved and get it all situated with no damage or issues. Yes the price was reasonable but it took a little bit longer than we expected. It was an hourly quote but it was a reasonable hourly price. Yes my belongings arrived safely without any damages. I don't know if I have anything necessary to provide. It was pretty clear in terms of what they quoted us and what the expectations were. They were on time. I mean they did everything quickly. Yes the price was reasonable. There was no damage to my belongings and they arrived safely at my destination. Worst company EVER!

I called and detailed the items I wanted to move…. Approximately 60 boxes, queen bed, dresser, small desk, dining table and chairs, a sectional with ottoman. They said it could easily be done in 2 hours and quoted $120 – 195.00. They were extremely nice and helpful on the phone however, only two men arrived…one did not speak English at all and the other very broken English. They worked very slowly and after working for a very long time on taking the bed apart, they said they didn't have the tools (all that was needed was a wrench…they claimed they had only one wrench and it was the wrong one). So I asked them to move 2-3 small pieces of furniture instead...pieces so light that my kids could have carried them. They took a very long time wrapping and loading these pieces. My kids and I could have done it faster. They took forever trying to move the dining room table and said they had to go get tools to take the legs off the table because they couldn't get it through the back door. I asked why they didn't just use the front door…he replied, “You have a front door?” They used the front door easily without taking off the legs. They were unloading the boxes at the new house and one by one taking the boxes off the dolly. My 73 year old dad started helping because they were taking so long and he unloaded twice as many boxes as the 2 men. Took over 4 hours and charged me $345.00 for what should have been a fast, inexpensive move. Read more
