Would not recommend AMS

I would strongly NOT recommend using All My Sons. The largest problem I faced was a final charge that was twice the estimate. I can understand a little leniency in the difference between the quote and the final payment,however,twice the cost is unacceptable. For a company that has been in business for this long,they should know how to adequately estimate the cost of a move. Not to mention,I moved a large bulk of items by myself before the movers even arrived. Don’t let yourself be fooled by this company’s prepayment charm. While my movers were great and respectful,the customer service or corporate staff for AMS was a nightmare to deal with. When I tried calling their “customer service” to discuss the disproportionate difference between the estimate and the final charge,I had to speak to an employee,Josh,who was abrupt and insolent the entire conversation. Also keep in mind,this company will only pay a small fraction of the value of items damaged. Moving by itself is stressful and there are far better moving companies to choose from than to deal with the absolute headache this company provides. Read more

Horrible unload experience

We hired these guys in September of 2016 to unload a U-Haul into the new house we rented. It was horrible. They showed up late, charged us over $700 (which was not the quoted price), didn't even finish the job in the time allotted (and we unloaded as much as they did), were very lazy, broke several of our items with their careless moving/placing, and just simply did an overall bad job. Don't waste your money. Even ended up leaving one of their shirts at our house. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Read more

They worked very hard, it was a good ...

they were one of the cheaper companies which was very nice and they had some young guys but they were very polite and worked very hard. I kind of helped out because I can't just sit and watch, and they were very appreciative of the fact that I pitched in when there was only one guy and they needed someone on the other end of a piece of furniture. They made a difficult move run ...

it was a partial move. As the result of a divorce. it was kind of a difficult situation. The gentleman who first came out and did the estimate, gave me a fair and reasonable estimate. The movers themselves were polite, courteous and efficient and they allowed what was a somewhat difficult move to proceed somewhat smoothly and I appreciate that. Read more

Don't hire!!! Save yourself hassles ...

This is the worst place to have move you. I called to have them move my stuff from the uhaul into the apartment. That's all. When the guys got there they offered to work under the table if I called and cancelled the delivery. They want 300 to do that. Well they charged 350 with non refundable 50. So no deal. Good thing I didn't do that. They dinged up the walls moving my stuff in. I called and reported it. Never heard from them. Called each week after that and kept getting told it was sent to their contractor to come look for an estimate and never heard from them. I called all my sons again. They said they have no control over when the contractor will call to set up a time to look at it. Which is bs. They hire the contractor. Make a phone call. Also each time I called, some manager answered the phone but never the right one that could help me. After the run around for several months. They told me oh you needed to fill out this packet and we will mail it to you from Texas. Never received. They called saying it was returned to them as no such address. So I called and gave them my address again on the lady's voicemail that called me, even tho the movers went to the address they had on file and it was a real address. Never heard from them again. Have dealt with this for almost 4 months now. It's completely unacceptable. Now I have to fix their damage or I lose my damage deposit for the apartment. What a crock. Don't hire them. Ever!!!! The did wrap the furniture and I got ...

The move went just fine. I was not moving like a whole big house full of stuff. I was moving from one apartment to another and all I wanted was for them to move my heavier furniture. Everything else my kids were moving. The did wrap the furniture and I got no damage. The movers were fine. Read more

They were on-time and with the exception of getting lost where they were going, they were very timely and they put the furniture exactly where we wanted it. So, they did a good job. Read more

Didn't even get a quote after being ...

PLEASE NOTE: THIS REVIEW IS NOT ABOUT THE ACTUAL MOVING SERVICE AS I DIDN'T EVEN GET PAST THE QUOTE PROCESS!!!!! I contacted this company online for a quote to move a baby grand piano. Minutes after I submitted my request, my cell phone rang (even though I requested contact via email). Shortly after, I received THREE emails. Then another call. This continued until I had received 5 calls and 5 emails, but not a single one of them included the requested quote information. I finally received an email requesting additional information about my move. I responded and used the first part of my email to inform the company that I was not satisfied with the harassment that I felt I received from all of their contact. Then I provided the requested information in hopes of finally getting a quote. The response I received back stated that "if this was the case" implying that the person responding didn't even believe what I was telling him. And if I didn't want people to call, I shouldn't request a quote online. I was told that any company in KC would do the same. I was basically told that what was going on in my daily life was of no concern to them when they are making the calls and sending the emails. In fact, I did request quotes from other moving companies in KC and all of them responded via email as I requested with an actual quote. At the end of this somewhat berating email, I was told I would be removed from the list and still never provided a quote. Seconds later, I received a friendly, form email stating that they were sorry to hear I had to cancel my move and that I should call when I wanted to reschedule. Read more

MAMIPULATORS, LIARS.

They quoted the wrong price, they moved me in under 2 hours and charge me close to $500. They tore up a $1500 mattress and refused to pay me for it. Customer service is rude. The movers even informed me that the people running this company were not being truthful to their customers. I would never recommend them to anyone. STAY FAR AWAY. Read more

They were very good, the movers were real polite. We didn't have any problems at all. They were wonderful, we kinda laughed and joked. It was just a pleasant day because sometimes it can be so exasperating. There was no damage to anything. They never put a scratch on anything. Read more
