Horrible Experience

We contracted with American Home Movers through a broker. The estimate was not even in the ballpark for what we ended up being charged. When the discrepancy was brought to our attention,our furniture was already on their 48’ trailer. We ended up paying the difference,mainly because we had few options. When the 53’ trailer arrived at our new residence,we discovered they had unloaded the original trailer in Las Vegas to the one they showed up with. No explanation was given as to why this had to be done. As they unloaded our furniture,we discovered they had broken many pieces,one being an antique Duncan Phyfe table. Once we were able to actually inventory our belongings,we found out there were 4 boxes missing (one that contained 3 separate flatware boxes),as well as many more broken pieces that had not been packed well. Bunch of my valuables we either damaged or broken they doubled the price than what we originally agreed upon and during the pick up they suddenly added extra fees and during delivery I had more fees added for every seven steps up the stairs when the contract said per flight and I come to find out by bed frame is missing my wooden rails the foot board is missing and damaged a leg the dropped my dresser on the stairs they tore everything apart and did not do what they promised and put it all back together on delivery the also damaged broke the pegs my sectional attachments that hold my sectional together I would have never booked these guys but a broker acted like they were an actual mover booked these guys so do your self a favor don't book with these clowns(U. Broke my glass table in my family 47 ...

I would like to first say I was quoted $1200 for a move that turned costing me $2850. This company packs the truck so low to make cubic feet look larger then it is. But I paid the money. The thing that I feel was more shaddy then charging double what I was quoted was what happened at delivery. I have a glass coffee table top that was 1/2 inch temperared glass that was a antique that went on a log coffee table. This table has been in my family 48 years. Not only did they break the top they hid it behind boxes so I wouldn't notice it was broke tell after I signed off on it. It still has the furniture pad they wrapped in and box and bubble wrap around it. It was clearly broken the box was bowed and hardly movable. They didn't just hide it they didn't unpack and ensemble my coffee table like they where paid to do so because they knew they broke it. They put in a area where my 4 year old could have reach into that area and could have been cut very badly. I have left messages with company and want everyone to be aware of there practices. I assume the owner would be horrified to see the pictures. The table was appraised years ago at $9000.00. It's very special it was my grandfather's that passed away 2 years ago. I've grew up seeing it and is treasure to my heart. I explained to the person packing it how important it was to me and he spend 45 mins wrapping it. Obviously someone must have dropped it. They had a very difficult job with us. They helped tremendously with the sorting and organization of our furniture.
