Horrific Moving Experience: Deception, ...

Our move from California to North Carolina with Pan Transit Vanlines LLC and Brooklyn Moving Inc was the worst experience of our lives. From false promises to delays, extortion, and extensive damage to our belongings, these companies caused us unimaginable stress and hardship. Initial Booking and Broken Promises We initially contacted Pan Transit Vanlines LLC, speaking with John (561-600-9725, john@pantransitvanlines.com), who assured us they were a full-service moving company providing door-to-door service. The move was quoted at $2,002.01, and we paid a $826 deposit. However, as the moving date approached, John disappeared. When we called, we were told he no longer worked there, and the company disclaimed any responsibility for the promises he had made. Two days before the move, we were informed our job had been handed over to Brooklyn Moving Inc (888-889-6872, support@brooklynmovinginc.com), without our knowledge or consent. No one explained that Pan Transit was just a broker, not a moving company. Pick-Up Day Brooklyn Moving Inc arrived late in the evening on the scheduled pick-up day and presented us with a new contract, increasing the cost to $2,599. Despite our frustration, we paid $1,297 via Zelle, and a representative named Ez reassured us our belongings would arrive in one week. Delivery Delays and Neglect After driving to North Carolina, we called Brooklyn Moving Inc about our delivery, only to learn that they hadn’t even started looking for a truck. Alfredo (888-889-6872) told us they would begin now that we had confirmed we were ready to receive our items—contrary to their original promise. For a month and a half, we lived with no clothes, furniture, kitchen items, or personal care essentials, relying only on what we could fit in our car. My boyfriend and I had to sleep on a blow-up mattress, which worsened our existing health issues. My boyfriend was recovering from spinal surgery, and I was recovering from a car accident, both of us already dealing with back problems. This situation caused us long-term physical issues, forcing me to see a chiropractor. We called daily, only to be told they had 30 days to deliver and that trucks were hard to find for our area. Jordan, a supposed dispatch supervisor, admitted that Pan Transit Vanlines was just a broker and that our load was “not worth it” for them to send a truck. This critical information was never disclosed during booking. Delivery Day Nightmare After more than a month of escalating frustration, Brooklyn Moving finally sent a truck. The driver, who worked for yet another company, arrived and revealed that Brooklyn Moving hadn’t paid him for previous deliveries. DO NOT HIRE

Horrible!!!! This moving company charged me an extra $760 than what I was quoted, and I didn't even have 10 of the items I listed on the original inventory list. When the carrier MAJDI KAMAISH showed up, he claimed his help wasn't answering the phone, so I had ONE person moving all of my furniture and belongings into my apartment. He filled the elevator FULL of my belongings as well as the outside of the elevator so absolutely nobody could use the elevator for at least two hours. He did not reassemble my furniture and paid my 66-year-old father $20 to help him bring my couch to the 2nd floor. On top of that, several boxes were completely trashed, two vases and a plant pot were shattered, the bottom frame and springs on my couch were busted, and my daughter's twin bed frame is STILL missing, all of which are no older than two years. Not only that but the entire time this clown moved my things, he yapped about how shady this company is. So, I 100% DO NOT recommend this business. The worst company to deal with. Brokers give a lower estimate and later the company quoted more than the double. Almost 65% of my expensive crockery was broken. Never ever use Brooklyn. The people who pick up have attitude and are rude. Very very unhappy with the services. Read more

Never use this company, Basil comes to ...

Where to begin with this company? I booked a move form Long Beach CA to Milwaukee WI, through a company called Mission Moving that then contracted out to this moving company, Brooklyn Moving INC based out of Fairfield CA. The head mover Basil, broke two of my lamps and bed frame, lol he actually broke the bed frame in my apartment. Then proceed to lose, steal, or throw away my bed and box spring Luckily somehow even with my other damaged boxes which there were many, nothing else was broken. They even contracted out their contract to another moving company and the movers filled me in on what a horrible company they are and how many complaints they receive. Then beyond that, no updates no anything from the company. Then when you call you the company to ask, rightfully, where your belongings are you will get a range of answers from there is no warehouse manager- no clue- to whatever excuse they can come up with to get you off the phone. They even say IF, so basically I know I am not getting my mattress or box spring back. When you do call you will probably get to talk to a Camille or Jasmine, they will legit not help you at all. Do yourselves a huuuuuge favor do not use Brooklyn Moving INC or Mission Moving. Pay a little bit more for peace of mind. I got hustled but you don't not have to be hustled. Read more

Beware!

To bad I can not give 0 stars! All I need to say is "Stay away from this moving company if you value your belongings. Let me start from the beginning. I was scheduled to have my stuff picked up on March 27 or 28th. They were to notify me 3 days before arrival. Within the 3 days of the moving date, I did not receive a call, so I called them.Nobody answered.So I called them again the next day, no response.On the 26th I called them and they said someone will be there tomorrow,the 27th. So much for the 3 days heads-up! During the initial conversation, the rep on the other side asked what date will I like my stuff delivered. I mentioned that I would like my items delivered on April 2nd. The rep said sure,no problem. Now when the movers show up,he sits down and says the the delivery date will not be on April 2nd but most likely a week or more later.WTF! He says this is because my stuff will be a shared move. Sharing with another customers items. Then he says, if this is not ok, to cancel the move. How am I going to NOW cancel the move when everything is ready to go. Don't lie to me upfront about the delivery date, and the fact that you did not mention shared moving is sneaky and deceiving. So my stuff is packed up and is in route. Everyday I would receive a text from the company stating " A courtesy notification. Which basically says how much to pay when the truck driver arrives. Then the truck arrives on the the 9th of April, the guys unload the truck and are ready to leave. I look on the ground and my BBQ grill is in multiple pieces, like it fell off the ramp. I said what happened to my grill and his statement was,"you have the screws right?" It took all I had to hold back from choking this guy out. So they drive off and I proceed to take pictures of the damaged BBQ. I then send the pictures to their support rep,Marisa, who just earlier sent me a "courtesy notification". No response. I unwrapped my bed headboard and it to is damaged. I unwrap my 55" tv and it is cracked.I sent pictures to Marissa, no response. Now mind you, I have been receiving daily "courtesy notification". Now that they have been paid,no more communications from the sleazeballs. As I have not opened all of my boxes, I'm pretty sure I will see more damaged goods. STAY AWAY FROM BROOKLYN MOVING! Don't recommend hiring

They lost several of my belongings on a cross country move, and delivered me SOMEONE ELSES belongings. Then when I filed an insurance request, it was denied. Their movers failed to communicate that it was my responsibility to complete an inventory of the items they were delivering - I was told to stay out of the way so they could do their job. Upon leaving, they demanded that I sign the form indicating all boxes were present. Instead, I wrote "was not counted upon delivery. My signature does not reflect number of boxes delivered." Their insurance company rejected my claims. Even though a full count of my boxes would not have mattered since they delivered me boxes that were not mine. Also, I have attempted for the last 6-weeks to get Brooklyn Movers to take back possession of the items which were erroneously delivered to me and they have zero interest in doing so. Be aware - if they lose your belongings... they're somewhere, but Brooklyn Movers will do nothing to find, replace or return them to you. Seems as if customer satisfaction is not a priority for them. All of this not even mentioning how difficult it was for them to even deliver my items. It took weeks of daily calls, emails and texts to get them to respond and finally deliver my home to me. I called these movers and requested an urgent booking for the next day since my previous moving company cancelled my move last minute. My sales rep was pretty mindful and interested in getting my quote and booking really fast, everything from that point ran snoothly. Some items got behind and were delivered on a separate vehicle but it was done the same day so it actually was not a problem. I’d recommend them without hesitation. Read more

I needed a 3 bedroom house move including large heavy furniture. The movers came on time and made me feel very comfortable with the way work. At the end of the day, only a dresser got scratched but the insurance paid for it without problem. I really liked these guys and now they are at the top of my list when thinking about moving. Dishonest - avoid at all costs

Unethical business practices observed during my move. Revised pricing estimate not presented prior to loading of goods, was charged an egregiously high "revised" price for an artificially inflated shipment volume. When confronted with discrepancy, Brooklyn miraculously discovered volume was incorrect and offered to knock a pittance off pricing in attempt to settle. Disreputable company and stressful experience throughout. Don't go cheap on movers...use a name brand (United, Atlas, Mayflower) and get off this website! Read more
