Excellent moving service
We are having our biggest move yet and it was a success thanks to this wonderful company. Interstate moving is a really huge task and stressful. But working with them, it was really stressful at all! They were really efficient and made sure that everything is carefully loaded into the truck. I also like how they are on time for work and quick with their pace. I, without a doubt, would recommend this company for their excellent service.

Not recommended
Awful. I would never use them. I assisted my mom in finding a company to help move her cross-country. They were supposed to call the day before and confirm arrival time for pick up, they didn't do that. They loaded all of my mother's items and then had her sign paperwork. The driver had to "call to check on something" and discovered in that call that my mom's paperwork he had with him was wrong and she had supposedly signed an update contract upgrading the square footage. I went through her emails with her when she received them, I helped her electronically sign the contract (for 500 cubic ft, not 800cubic ft). We showed the guy her email. She spoke to the manager and basically told her too bad. She already had plans to leave in few days and could not delay it, so she paid the extra (almost $1000) just so she could get her stuff there. They delivered her stuff. And added EVEN MIRE FEES. Because apparently, they deliver ALL moves in an 18-wheeler (even though it was not picked up in that large of a vehicle) and NOT RESEARCH roads prior to driving on them (the road she lives on had a low weight limit, sheriff was called). They? had to rent a uhaul, move all of her stuff into that, and drive the uhaul back to her house to unload. Even more fees for that rental. Again, paid the fees because they refused to unload stuff before payment. She has also found that some of her items are missing. She has since been given the complete run around trying to simply get some of her money back for the extra square footage. She was told the supervisor would call back, he NEVER did. She has since attempted to call FOUR times and has been HUNG UP ON EVERYTIME. This is ridiculous, unprofessional, and poor business. I will NEVER recommend this company for ANYTHING and I am encouraging my mom to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and any other agency she can file complaints with.

great movers
I cannot say enough about these guys! They were really great with my move. I started looking for moving companies, already stressed and annoyed that I have to go through this process again, but talking to Samantha really helped me calm down. She at least helped take the stress out of the logistic of actual moving my belongings.

very happy with the service
One year later, I used them again! Using the same mover again says it all, but I can put it in words as well! My first move with cal 1 went great which is why I did not hesitate to use them again this year. As expected, all went as planned and I am very happy with the service.

decent movers with a good price
I had been looking for decent movers with a good price as I was on a VERY tight budget. Cal 1 did everything they could in order to make this happen for me and they really saved me. They did a great job, seemed like they really cared about making me happy! Thank you.

very impressed
Very easy to work with company, always available and flexible. Service was great. Of course we had a small mishap (broken door whilst moving) which is normal, it happens, but it was settled very quickly. They asked for an invoice on how to fix or replace, I provided it and the next day they offered to either refund my card or take it off my balance. Great customer service, I was very impressed!

Do not use Cal 1 moving
First, lets begin with the quote. I was initially quoted $5000. I submitted an updated inventory list (they claimed they didn't receive it), so was shocked with the actual price of over $10,000. They were 2 hours late. I had given them an updated phone number (which they also claimed they didn't receive), so that was their excuse for being late. The truck they brought was too small. They said they would have to come back the next day. Problem was, we had to leave early the next morning to begin our drive across the country for a new job. Had to have a neighbor let them in for us. While packing, they were throwing our boxes to the top of the stack, cramming them in the truck. They left trash on our front lawn (cigarette butts, banana peal etc.) and damaged our front door. They said they would deliver within 7-14 days. It was 17 days before received our items. Most of our boxes were wet. Clothes, blankets, towels, sheets etc. smelled like mildew. Desks were broken, the wheels on our entertainment center were broken, lamps, antiques, pots were broken. They would not return my phone calls for days. Customer care was very rude in the end. They have promised a refund for $500 for the door. We'll see if I get it. I submitted a claim today through their insurance for other damaged items. The worst experience of our lives.

They were nice but expensive.
They were very nice and everything. But every time I turned around, they were tacking on fees. And, you know, I was so into it at that point that I just paid them. And that was the main thing is I didn't like the way, you know, that was handled.
