A move can be a pleasant experience

For 30 Years our moves were done by USG contractors and we didn’t have to make decisions or worry about costs, yet it was not always a pleasant experience. Now, after retirement we faced for the first time a cross-country move on our own. A daunting task, if one doesn’t have the experience and answers for the many questions and costs one faces. After thorough online research and several interviews with various moving companies we settled on United Van Lines and Central Moving and Storage Co. of Mt.Vernon. From the first day we made contact with Central Moving and Storage to the day of partial deliveries to the primary destination and the permanent storage company, we always felt surrounded by true professionals who took pride in their work. The entire Central Moving and Storage crew of Richard Montgomery (sales, who showed us how we could reduce some of the cost), Duane Hansen (coordinator), Ron (packing) and his team of John, Larry and Marcos, and the United Van Lines driver Angel Rivera and his loading and unloading crews, all of them were extremely patient and informative with us newcomers to shipping our belongings ourselves. This turned out to be a much more pleasant, less costly and without damage experience than we had expected and we are very pleased to rate Central Moving and Storage and United Van Lines a Five on a 1-5 scale.
