RIP OFF

We paid for moving and was charged a new larger fee. We signed a contract with Vanity Van lines and we told them that we had a 1500 sf home and a storage unit that needed moving to Oregon from California. They outsourced our move to Cheetah Movers. We were quoted a fee of $7664.00. On the move date September 3, 2020 the movers showed up at storage first. They loaded the truck with the storage unit and then came to the house. Once at the house the mover stated that we had too much stuff and it was going to cost $9000.00 more because we were going to use a whole truck. I told him no and they left. A few hours later he called me back and told me it would be better if everything went in one trip and since it was a week end and labor day weekend,and such short notice we could not find another truck so we had to have them come back. We had no choice. He lowered the price to 8000.00. We were again told that we had too much "stuff" and that we would use a whole truck. They did not take everything and we had to give a lot of items away. We were even told that they would not load our fans and lamps because they "do not move junk". Also while I was trying to make sure the Refrigerator was empty the man getting ready to wrap it told me that it was too late to check he was wrapping it so when it arrived I found out there were eggs in the refrigerator when he packed it and now it is ruined because of the rotten egg smell. So We gave away hundreds of dollars worth of things and rented a trailer to move the rest. Finally on September 15, 2020 they were bringing us our furniture. This is when we found out that Cheetah also out sourced the move to a company named Revolution. The driver named Angel showed up and would not even start moving anything in until I paid him. He had hired a bunch of local teenagers to move my things. It was at this time that we found out that we did not have a whole truck like they said but we had shared a truck with other people. We paid $8000.00 extra because we were told that we had too many items and needed a whole truck for just our items. I believe weSeveral things were broken one of them was my China Hutch. Almost all the supports holding the glass in place were broken. Wine glasses were broken. They kicked boxes that said clearly on it FRAGILE. It was a total rip off. They forced us to either have them move us for a ridiculous price or not move at all. And we had to be out of the house the following day because the house was sold.
