Nice and patient moving team
I got a job offer Seattle and my company was paying for my move. City Moving handled my move north. I had a lot of stuff even after trying to sell and donate a lot of things. The moving team took all day packing my things and the following day loaded them in to the truck. About 4 days later everything was unloaded into my new place and there was no damage or any other issues. Very pleased w/ how things went. Will use again. The team was very friendly and patient with all my questions.

Wife got transferred
My wife accepted a new job in LA. A friend of hers that she met at her new office recommended. We were impressed with how the move was handled and they really provided a full service move. They packed all our things and moved them with no damage. Our things did arrive a little late but that’s hard to control since no one can predict weather. We were kept well-informed.

Not perfect but good overall.
We had a good move using these guys. Long distance moves are complicated and we realize that. Our things arrived 2 days later than expected to our new condo which wasn’t great but City kept us abreast of the situation and got back to us right away with our concerns. Overall a good move. We will use them again.

Great until it wasn't.
Mike was awesome to coordinate with and the price was about on par with other companies. The service itself was quicker than expected, which was a plus. Unfortunately, there were some hiccups. On pickup, the crew forgot their tablet to document the job. They ended up having to come back the following day for signatures, which was a cost of time on my family's end. That also delayed receiving a copy of all the forms for me. He also wasn't really bothering to properly wrap individual items, but was luckily corrected by his coworker before I brought it up. During delivery, only one person was present to handle the move. Definitely not ideal for carrying objects up stairs. I ended up having to help move things, despite being on disability for my back. My desk arrived damaged and missing hardware (though the delivery driver did replace it himself, but not the proper dimensions). Also, now that I had time to unpack everything, I noticed I have items missing. I'm not sure how that happened, as they're just small kitchen items as far as I can tell. Luckily, they're replaceable, unlike the shelf to my desk. Upon packing, the movers removed it to move the desk and almost left it behind. I gave it to them as they were loading the last things, but I assume they never packed it. Now I have a damaged wooden desk, with missing hardware replaced with the wrong kind, and no shelf for it. I reached out and was given the claim forms, but I'm not sure I can expect much. I moved multiple times through the military, but never had this issues with those companies. Hawaii to Georgia
City moving handled our relocation to Georgia from Maui very well. From the first call to them, their communication was on point, all boxes arrived undamaged, and this was a great to see. The only challenge that we encountered was the final delivery driver didn't have a helper to unload are 88 boxes. So, my family and I had to help. This shouldn't happen when you're paying thousands to have your items shipped. Other than that, 5 stars.

Negligent and Deceitful
I used this company when we moved from Hawaii to California. Service was great at the beginning, they worked with our schedule, met our needs and gave us updates regarding pick up, during transit and upon delivery. It was after our household goods were delivered that everything went south. Some of our good were damaged and so we submitted a claim. We followed the instruction on the claim form as directed and waited. When we didn't hear back from anybody after the aforementioned 10day follow up, I decided to give them a call to see what the status of our claim is. After over a month of following up nobody has yet to give me a solid update, it was either unreturned voice message, unanswered email, or a vague "someone will contact you." I was finally informed 36 days after I emailed them my claim form and other documents to the move captain that it was never received by the claims department. It is so appalling that this company who assured us professionalism when bidding for our business is behaving so negligently. The careless and apathetic way of handling our claim for damaged goods is very disappointing and frustrating that I wish I had used a different company. Update: (In response to company's reply on Google review) It's so frustrating and appalling when companies like this one will continue to avoid responsibility and push the blame on the customer. Because I was following up regularly (almost once a week, 10 days after I reported my claim on 10/17), it was found out that the person in charge of my move that received my emailed claim form on 10/17/22 never forwarded the paperwork to the claims department. That is their own negligence. To say that they didn't hear from me until mid November is very deceiving to other reviewers reading this because I had been trying to get in touch with their staff via email and phone multiple times. And to top it off they refuse to compensate and take responsibility for damaged goods that their movers obviously mishandled. A tote bin that was labeled fragile was smashed and cracked down to the side, and they stated that it was owner packed and that they are therefore not liable. That is again negligence on their part that they are passing off responsibility. And yeah, thank you for the $12 compensation for an apple computer they damaged because that one the movers packed themselves. Laughable! This company is not worth your business. Use someone else.

AVOID
I had previously moved the same items through the military. I sent the cu ft specifics to the company. they quoted half that volume to make the price look really good. the actual volume was similar to the previous move. they were also very active, calling, texting and emailing about payments way in advance of due date, but then ghost you about delivery and recovery of missing/stolen items. they say they do 30 days free "storage" but what it means is that from the date it is collected while the goods are in transit, they call it "storage" so really there is no storage. and they do not store at the end destination so hidden charges will appear for "additional storage" even when it has never actually been stored. they subcontract out to guys who literally do not catalogue the items nor use blankets on furniture etc. the say the ship off of the inventory. and despite sending a detailed inventory with measurements to the main company prior to the move as well as on the day to the collection agents, my 6 1/2 foot tall, nearly 3 ft wide, 17 cu ft solid wooden bookcase was inventoried and loaded but never delivered. as I was shipping to hawaii, the cost of a replacement (primarily due to shipping to hawaii is excessive). Ive had the bookcase through 5 military moves, but on this one it was stolen in transit. it's not small (bigger than a lot of grown men to be honest), and I also paid for the cu ft of shipping it which means double theft basically. zero accountability. won't replace it. and pretty much all my stuff looked beat to hell with busted corners etc. a military grade gorilla luggage box (survived 3 military moves and a deployment to the middle east and back) some how was shattered during the move. My military moves were white glove delicate moves in comparison (and military movers are not reknown for their care in transit)

TRAUMATIZED
WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. TRAUMATIZED. ANY GOOD REVIEWS LIKELY FAKE. YOU WILL REGRET IT. I value my anonymity but also really want to protect others from this company. Sort reviews by "Lowest" and you will clearly see a pattern. We moved from San Francisco to Honolulu in May. They promised the world before they locked down our business and indicated that they would deliver our things by a certain date. Once they had our deposit and furniture, they could have cared less on their delivery date and instead started to refer us to the buried fine print. It took a couple of weeks longer than expected for our furniture to arrive which forced us to spend money on temporary provisions. They had offered a $500 discount, and now, months after delivery, they are trying to invoice us for the discount that they apparently have retroactively decided not to honor and is calling a mistake (even after we provided all documentation). There is no reasoning with the customer service agent (Tia). She constantly gaslights us every time we have a conversation with her. THIS IS A PLACE OF BUSINESS?! How are they legally still allowed to operate? So much time and energy wasted over email and over the phone communicating with unreasonable people. Not to mention they accidentally delivered someone else's box spring when they did eventually deliver our furniture. We contacted them more than once and they never came back to pick it up. We had to call the city to remove it off our property. It's clear that City Moving only cares about getting paid and have absolutely no regard for their customers' property or timeline.

Will not compensate and will hold your ...
Delivered my items a month late. Originally agreed to compensate $30 for each business day that it was late, ended up owing me $690. They ended up only offering me $330 because of COVID-19 related issues. I can understand this, however there were several opportunities for them to communicate this with me. I personally spoke to the manager on 7/22/2020 about compensation and he failed to mention anything about this. Nobody is able to offer any specific information about why they cannot provide the full refund, and it all just seems like a sham. They are holding my items hostage unless I pay them $238.50 and sign an agreement which mentioned that I would not be able to write negative reviews or report them to government agencies.

Superb service from City Moving. Came to our flat to give advice on boxes required, time to pack and services they offer. The process and helpfulness was a key factor in using them.
