If you don't care if you have no idea ...

Shall I start by saying that at least they only lost 1 box and broke 1 lamp? Overall, my biggest complaint is communication. During the sales process they had great communication. After they had picked up my things they had terrible communication. I had them tell me multiple times "your stuff is on the next truck will be there in no more than 5 days" and then nothing showed up prompting me to call back and I'd get either no answer or a "oh, yeah, it will be sent next time. Don't worry we'll call when we load your stuff." Did they call when they loaded my stuff? No! I had to call them and they were like, "oh yeah it will be there in three days". Every time they told me "it will be there or on the next truck" I planned for that - I had people here to help me unpack and set up - and yet every time they were wrong. More often than not I got a voicemail and I wouldn't hear back. I even had one of the owners answer the phone once and be like - I will walk back to the warehouse and they will call you back and yet I never received a call back. I would also like to point out that "21 BUSINESS DAYS" is ridiculous since truckers work weekends - just say what you mean. They have 27 days to get you your things from the day you want them. I will also be explicit - this service owns SIX (6)!!! trucks for the entire country. The one truck covers the entire east coast (except Florida which gets its own truck). So when the truck broke down stuff gets delayed fast. I would work with a larger, more established company next time so their delays don't lead to as much issues with my deliver. Read more

Terrible Move Experience with Delta

I used this company for a move from TX to CA. Just like the other reviews,this was a terrible terrible experience with awful service. In summary: 1. the overall cost ended up being double the quoted cost 2. their sales folks are aggressive,but once you have signed a contract,forget hearing from them. Their customer service is terrible. 3. there is no tracking of your goods,you will not know when they will arrive. Mine arrived 10 days after the quoted delivery date. 4. They are not the movers,dont own the trucks etc. They just sell space. 5. You WILL pay additional fees when you receive your goods,hidden as extra distance to walk,or elevator fees. Mine was $200 in cash. 6. Many items damaged,i am still working thru the claims process and have no money returned Frankly the worst move experience and i do NOT recommend this company. Read more

Do not use this company to pack your ...

I unknowingly had Delta Moving Systems outsourced from the initial company I went with that turned out to be a broker. I was upset that on the day of the move men from this company show up and at no time prior was I notified that the movers were not from the original company I thought I was going through the whole time. The movers were nice at the time but seemingly clueless in how to actually professionally pack resulting in many of my items broken or missing upon arrival. Delta Moving Systems did not want to honor the written and verbally communicated statement on my original estimate that I would only be charged for the packing supplies used, not what was listed on the estimate I had about 30 unused boxes that they still wanted to charge me for, so I called and spoke with the supervisor Michael and when I stated that I should get that amount deducted from my final payment and I shouldnt have to pay it, he stated that it wasnt their practice to do that and that I signed a binding estimate (which was never once stated before) and that if I wasnt happy or comfortable with their practices that he could have his men take all my stuff off the truck. I was livid with the type of customer service for a company that I DIDNT EVEN CHOOSE and how could an estimate be binding WHEN I DIDNT EVEN SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM?! They ended up cutting a deal with the intial broker company decided to charge me half of the difference which I didnt want to argue with at the time since my stuff was loaded on the truck and I was on a time crunch to get relocated. In the end when I received my items, a different set of men performed the drive and delivery who were not a part of this company but started to notice broken items and couldnt find things like hardware for the bed or legs to the couch and improperly wrapped/packed electronics and suggested I start opening all of the boxes to see what was what. Turns out I ended up with hundreds of dollars of broken or missing items. I called DMS and spoke with Michael again this time he was much nicer and asked how he thought that happened and I stated because they didnt professionally pack like they were supposed to and all he could do was suggest I file a claim and gave me a number. However, because the initial estimate link disappears once the job is transferred to whoever is actually doing the move and then Delta Moving Systems does NOT provide you with a physical copy of your contract even when asked, it would be near impossible to actually go through with a claim unless you were smart enough to take screen shots and pictures of everything. Thankfully I did. I paid $1420, directly to Delta Moving Systems at the time of pickup ($3800 total for the move) only to receive hundreds of dollars of missing or damaged items. I just completed the claims process which is a joke and only provided me with $150 which barely covers the cost to replace 1 item. I should have sold or donated all of my things instead of moving with them. Read more
