DO NOT recommend DH Moving and Storage

We were quoted $1970 to move each way for moving and storage services, which included an hourly rate for 3 movers. They sent 4 movers on the day of the move and we were charged $2670 - we were also overcharged the same amount on our move FROM storage to our new home. We understand that is is just a quote, but that is a significant difference and felt like it was a "bait and switch" scenario by sending an extra person and charging after the move was completed. What is more upsetting about this is that, during the move into our new home, the crew dropped our couch on the hardwood floors and split the wood - resulting in $565 worth of damage. The crew noted the damages and let us know the company would send someone out to repair the damages. When we asked the owner about getting the repairs taken care of, he stated that we did not opt for the insurance so he was not responsible. He did offer to pay for half, but it wasn't HALF of their fault they had done damage to their home. THEY DROPPED OUR COUCH. I absolutely DO NOT recommend DH Moving and Storage company. If you DO decide to go with this company, I recommend you be prepared to pay significantly over the quoted price and also be prepared to pay for any damages incurred during the move. You can always opt for the insurance but, in my opinion, professional movers should not be dropping furniture. Read more
