You Can’t Find a More Crooked Moving ...

Do not hire this company for your move. They are not who they say they are and are the biggest scammers in the industry. I hired Finest Fellas Moving Company for my recent move. I worked with Chase who gave me a lowball estimate on the weight to get my business. He figured that I would need 75 boxes, and my weight would be 7,000 pounds after a live video call where I showed him the contents of my entire home, including all closets. They love to brag how they’re family owned and NOT brokers. This is a lie. After paying a non-refundable deposit I learned that they brokered my move to some fly-by-night crew. When they arrived on moving day I was informed that I had over 100 boxes, and not the 75 that the estimate listed. I told him that Chase came up with that number, not me. I had actually donated a lot of items to Goodwill after the estimate and designated many items to take down in my full size pickup truck. The fly-by-night crew told me that my move would be 9,000 lbs and wanted to charge me over $500 for “packing materials”. This included plastic wrap for furniture and boxes for glass shelves. I was never told there would be extra charges for this. The fly-by-night crew said it was Finest Fellas policy. When I called them, they said it was the brokered moving company’s policy. I was forced to sign a new agreement for almost $2,500 more than I originally signed. I had no choice, new tenants were moving in a few days later. After the move I complained to Finest Fellas about the up charges for the packing materials and weight. After some back and forth they agreed to refund me $500. I didn’t feel this was enough money, but I just didn’t want to deal with it anymore and to put this ugly ordeal behind. They would not refund my money unless I signed an agreement that I would not leave any negative reviews on social media. The agreement stated it could take up to 30 days to refund the money. After almost 45 days I contacted the company about my refund. I was told someone would get back to me. That never happened. I was given the run-around on subsequent calls. I was also given an email address to write to, but multiple emails went unanswered. DO NOT HIRE FINEST FELLAS FOR YOUR MOVE! THEY ARE LIARS AND SCAMMERS! Read more

Stay Away!

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!! Everything I was told by them was a lie and I ended up getting charged double what I was quoted. First off, they told me that Finest Fellas did the loading and moving themselves and my stuff would be the only stuff in the truck... but no, some other company showed up and my stuff was packed in with 2 other people's. They didn't calculate enough space for my stuff so I had to leave behind about half of my inventory of large items because they wouldn't fit into the truck, but then somehow that made the cost double!? I tried talking to customer service and their excuse was that the weight was more than they had estimated... but HOW when they left behind an entire patio furniture set, 2 outdoor porch swings, a dresser, a storage bench... all things that I had on my original inventory list that I was quoted a price for!! And then, I was charged over $300 for "packing"... when I did my own packing! They didn't pack OR disassemble any of my things, I had it all done and ready to go myself!!! This company is a freaking joke. I'm a pregnant single mom of 3 and can't afford to be taken advantage of like this when my hands are tied because I had to get my stuff moved across the country and they knew that I didn't have any other options. I was also told that my stuff would be delivered within 3-5 days... and today makes day 10 and I have no idea where all my belongings are. This has been an absolutely terrible experience and I DO NOT recommend this company to anyone!!!!! Expect false advertising and major price changes if you hire them!!!! If I wanted a broker, I would've hired someone much cheaper, but they con you into thinking they're not a broker and then you pay triple what you would've paid a broker for the exact same services. SCAM!!! BEWARE

Recently my house caught fire and the only two rooms spared were the basement and garage. I called Finest Fellas on Feb 28, 2025 to get a quote on moving some tools out of the garage and Christmas decorations and shelving from the basement. I spoke with Joseph Horowitz and he said that there minimum weight for moving was 2000 pounds and that I wouldn't be at that weight but they would write it up at 2000. The charge was $1.20 per pound which equaled out to be $2400.00. I agreed to the terms and signed the contract. When the movers showed up, I could instantly tell that the main person, Axel was going to try and upsell and charge me more money. He said that with the additional items, basically 2 bikes, 3 extra boxes I forgot about, and an outdoor hammock that my price would now be over $6000.00!! So my weight apparently went from under 2000 pounds to over 5000 pounds!!?? I in no way even came close to doubling the weight estimate we originally discussed. I told them I could not afford that and asked them to leave. Then I called Finest Fellas two days later to make sure they cancelled the move and refunded my money and they told me I could not get a refund! This company is PURE SCAM! Subsequently I have made 3 calls into the owner of Finest Fellas, Steve Horowitz and he is avoiding my phone calls and will not answer or call me back. Read more

DON'T DO IT

Don't book these clowns. I spoke with Chase to book our move from NC to MI. Chase made lots of promises. We did a virtual inventory. The day of the move, A company showed up that was NOT Finest Fellas - they told me that they don't sub out their work. Re Moving America LLC showed up to do the move. They told me the price would increase because the inventory was more than the initial inventory. It DOUBLED. I reached out to Chase - no response. I was able to speak with Jo Jo - it was obvious that he was too busy to deal with my concerns. I finally spoke with Steve. He told me he would work with me on the price and not to worry. They held my stuff for a week. I was never told that their would be a 6 day waiting period. I told them when I needed the stuff delivered. Chase said that was no problem. That was a lie. When the stuff finally showed up, there was little care taken with unpacking the truck. The items that I was told would be set up before the guys left weren't touched.
