Move on July 10,2018 from 1 BR ...

We had a stress free move on July 10,2018 in Jersey City from a 1 BR apartment. The movers were very efficient and polite. The charges were clearly explained in their initial quote. They charged half an hour extra because of the building we were moving to took long time in explaining the details of unloading. It was no surprise for me. Refused to pay for damage

Their idiot mover who doesn't speak english broke my window, and refused to pay for the damages. Stay FAR Away from this company. FAR Away. They didn't clean up the glass they broke, didn't even apologize, left a pile of trash in my garage. Most unprofessional movers I have ever dealt with in my life. Read more

The price went from $800 to $2,400!

We had a lot of problems with the movers. We talked to them multiple times and explained how big the house was... They gave us an estimate of $800 and the morning they came, they moved the estimate to $1,200 when they looked at the house. We were fine with that and they said it would take them 10 hours and by the end of the day when they were supposed to deliver the goods to the new house, in the middle of moving they moved the price from $1,200 to $2,400. They charged for four hours for just ...

What I didn't like about it was they charged four hours of inventory when it just about 29 boxes. I thought it was an exaggeration to charge for four hours and then they didn't even give me a copy of the inventory. The positive part was that they had emergency storage, which was good. I just felt that it was an exaggeration with the 4 hours. At $99/hour that's $400. And I didn't have four hours of things, I just had 29 boxes. Read more

Did a great job with packing and ...

The most impressive thing about them was they were really quick in their packing and unpacking stuff. We have an electrical recliner sofa and they really did a great job doing the dismantling and again reassembling the whole thing. That was the best thing. Read more

I was very pleased with the company

It went very well. They asked me how many pieces of furniture I had, I told them. They came and wrapped everything up. It took more time wrapping up the stuff than the actual move. They were really very thorough and they protected everything very well and were very careful. They set everything up and even rearranged the furniture for me a little bit. They were polite and they were ...

It was ok, they came on time, they were professional, they knew what they were doing, they didn't ruin any of my furniture, and they didn't ruin the new house. They packed our tv and some stuff, we took care of most our boxes ourselves but then they secured existed boxes and they used blankets and wrapped the furniture that they were moving. They were polite, they were cooperative, and they listened to what we wanted to be done. I have no complaints. They did give me a price but basically it was an hourly charge. They did an estimate in the beginning based on my inventory. To be honest it took a little longer than I expected but this is my first big move so I didn't know how many hours or time to allocate for that. I thought it would be faster but at the same time I didn't realize I was going to end up having so much stuff. Read more

Changed the price after they did an ...

They gave me an estimate of around $600 to do the move, they showed up and redid the estimate and they gave me a revised estimate of about $1,400 and said they were going to walk away on the day of the move if I don't agree to it. So I said, OK fine, it doesn't make any sense to me, I talked to your representative over the phone a couple of time. They knew it was a 3-bedroom condo, all the details were there. When I allowed them to walk away, the supervisor contacted me and brought it down to $1,200. I had no choice, I was in a bind because we had set everything accordingly in terms of timeline and dates. The move started off good but workers ...

I wasn't 100% satisfied because I think the move was too big for them. I had told them on the phone they could come by and look at the house. I had updated the list that I had written initially by adding more furniture. Initially they were quick and efficient, but after a few hours it seemed like they were getting frustrated with the amount of stuff they had to move, so I think either they didn't prepare themselves or they didn't have enough people. Toward the end they just left stuff in the garage because they said they were too tired. It was just three people working and I think that's why they were exhausted. Very fast and efficient

They were fast, very fast, very efficient. They told me 100 percent ahead of time if they had to pack something a little bit more and how much it was gonna cost. They were very forthcoming with that information. I don't think we had anything broken. Read more

Good moving experience, despite a few ...

They were very professional. There were some discrepancy between what they were going to charge me -- there was a stairs fee -- and what the movers actually charged, but when I spoke to the person in the office they refunded that, so I would recommend them again. The staff and crew was very professional and my advice to future customers would be to just make sure you explain your situation exactly so you know exactly what to pack, although they guide you through it and they do a pretty good job. It's just that when the movers showed up they charged differently than what they originally quoted. They did a decent job with the packing and wrapping, although there were some nicks and scratches on my furniture that weren't there before and they charge exorbitantly for packing, so that's something to watch out for. Helpful and professional movers

They were very good, very professional, they were on-time, everything was wrapped -- we just had two pieces being moved, but one of them was a sectional sofa. Everything was wrapped nicely and delivered here, and they moved the desks that we wanted moved downstairs. Everyone was very nice and very professional. We received all the services we requested and the crew was on-time and friendly. I would tell future customers that we had a very good experience, that they were very helpful and professional and that we would use them again. I think the price was good, it was a reasonable estimate. we were estimated anything from $500 down to about $350 and they came in at the $350-365 range and I actually had one company call me and tell me that they had a four-hour minimum and what we were moving wasn't going to meet it, so they wanted to let us know that we weren't the right fit. I thought that was very honest of them. But this company came, they moved it, the price was reasonable for what we were having moved, because the coffee table and the sectional were both quite heavy, as was the desk we had downstairs and I was quite pleased. Quick and efficient movers

They were quick, they waited for me because I had to finish doing what I had to do. Then they put my stuff in storage and they got paid and left. They were very professional and they were on-time and friendly. The only thing they wrapped was the TV -- they charged me for that -- and they had to wrap the refrigerator, the washer and dryer, the table and the dressers too. Average service

I would say my experience was okay. I think estimate is where it gets a little muddy, because they came in low and added in so many things with their supplies and all the extra costs which almost became 50 percent of the original quote. No one would have expected that the tape and the masking tape and things like that would cost almost 50 percent of the moving costs. We did receive all the services that we requested. Hardworking crew, good service

It wasn't too bad. It was okay. It wasn't really a bad experience. They were very professional. They were above average. The price wasn't really the best, but it was really a good service overall. The guys were hardworking - all three guys worked on the move which is good. I didn't expect the driver to do any work, but he did. Just the fact that they were hardworking was great. I think overall the price was basically the same all across companies. These guys charge for four hours and then they charge you for other stuff. The other companies give you a flat rate. The price was comparable. All companies were about the same price. I think I would recommend them. For future customers I can say buy a lot of tape and cover your own stuff, cover the TV and glass items. Read more

Great services, they promise and ...

I recently relocated for work purposes to NYC. I submitted my information online and received maybe 15 different estimates from different moving companies. I know competition is hard and everyone wants to have your business, I got low balls quotes from $170. Once I contacted Flat Fee Moving, just randomly, I received an estimate for $560.00 including free wrapping, some tape and covers for my mattresses included, I told the lady it's too much. She did provide me with some information on how to check companies and how to make a wise decision, and to make sure all charges or extra charges are explained. After the first research attempt like 7 companies had bad reviews, bad BBB rating. Going on with the list I realize that a reputable and honest company will charge me around that amount to move my 2 bedroom apartment, so I decided to call FLAT FEE MOVING.
