Very shady company just read the ...

Put my information in on their website, and they're pretty much just selling your information. Immediately got an email and text telling me I was about to get alot of calls over the "next few days" from other companies and wanted to help me out. I said I wanted a quote from their company not to be put on a call list for a million places. Asked to be removed from the list, the lady said she had a quote ready but never sent it bc I repeatedly asked to be taken off the list. Her response was "You must have put your number in somewhere online" which I did ON THEIR WEBSITE.... Their ACUTAL MC/MX number for this location in GA is 69050 "OUT OF SERVICE" for "New Entrant Revoked - Refusal of Audit/No Contact" the number is NOT 685852 provided on the website they're using the NY location number. The USDOT# number you get in the email is also the NY location not GA. Horrible company

Avoid this company!! They had my belongings for 6 days and most of my boxes are destroyed. Split right down the seams and can’t even sit flat on the ground because they are so mutilated. The off loading staff employees were kicking my boxes down the truck ramp right in front of me,I can only imagine what they did when I wasn’t watching. I have huge items missing.. desk,couch,bookshelf etc. There is an ever changing narrative over the phone about where my missing items are. I lodged a complaint through the BBB and they were super helpful… but there is no fair resolution when the company won’t take responsibility for what they did. I can’t believe they call themselves a moving company. Also demanded cash at pick up. Contract clearly states a personal check is acceptable. Driver refused to pick up unless I had cash. Very questionable business behavior. Read more

Hidden Charges. Wet Crushed Boxes ...

THE BOXES WERE DELIVERD WET CRUSHED AND THEY ROLLED THEM DOWN THE TRUCK RAMP AND THEN PUSHED THEM INTO MY HOUSE AND BROKE EVERYTHING INSIDE. LOST 40 OF MY BOXES WHICH HAPPENED TO BE MY LENNOX CRYSTAL STERLING SILVER... EVERYTHING EXPENSIVE. LOST 4 OF MY ANTIQUE URNS, HOW COULD YOU LOSE THEY WERE HUGE AND CAST IRON. BROKE MY PELETON SCREEN AFTER I PAID AN ADDITIONAL $150 TO BE DELIVERED, DANIELLE WAS NICE ALWAYS SAYING SHE WOULD HELP ME BUT NEVER DID ANYTHING TO HELP ME BUT GIVE ME TO CHARLIE WHO OFFERED ME $225 FOR EVERYTHING BROKEN LOL THAT WOULDNT EVEN FIX MY PELETON. Not Great, Not the Worst

Moving our house across states around a holiday time with this company had some pros and cons. The customer service was great; the rep called to confirm, answered any questions we had, and was available at every point during the process. The sales rep who set up our move was also pleasant, as were all the movers. Dates and times were accurate and on schedule, and disassembly and reassembly of furniture were included as was holding of items (again, we moved over a holiday so we all needed things to be delayed a couple of days). Their wrapping job on our furniture was also great, and they used their own materials and cleaned up at our new house. Some serious cons, though, are included. First, the website isn't that helpful. There's another NJ company with almost the same name, and the vagueness of the site and overlap with this other company feels fishy. Second, paying is DIFFICULT. They only take cash, money order (not from a bank), or a Zelle payment. I could never get the app to work. Third, the estimate was under by more than $1000. I spent an hour on the phone detailing our inventory with pictures, so having it be that far off was unhelpful. Finally, our things do not seem to have been handled nicely. A couple of items are broken with no acknowledgment from the movers. Most of our brand-new boxes are ripped from the handles to the tops, making them unusable again. Fragile boxes are crushed in as they were on the bottom of a stack. All in all, we got here, our things got here, and we're grateful for that. When we move again, we will not use this company. Great customer service

Customer service was fantastic from day 1, with follow up calls and non pushy sales. Prices were competitive with the pushy companies, so why wouldn't I go with General Movers! We moved some furniture from my parents house and the movers wrapped everything very thoroughly, were professional and clean, and packed the furniture securely in the truck. A free local 30-day storage period made everything flexible. The final price was higher than quoted, but that was because extra items were added last minute (which they were able to accommodate). I would definitely use General Movers again and highly recommend! Read more

unethical, horrible, takes money ...

my initial contact with General movers LLC was great- salesman was informative and up front but pricing etc. the movers that picked u my belongings also initially wonderful. That's where the service level ended. My belongings were housed by company for 2 wks awaiting my closing on my home in MD. when the movers finally arrived ( extremely late) many of the boxes were crushed/ damaged- glass items I was advised to have them secure packing / protection at an additional cost per item , rived broken beyond repair, ( requiring an additional cost by me to have a junk removal company come to pick up the items) and several items missing. it has now been 2 months since my damage claim has ben placed with no resolution or update since my initial contact. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! there is zero accountability on their end . I guess this is why they require the final payment in cash or money order only- BEFORE they even remove one item from the truck. Truly unbelievable-- Read more

This moving company is horrible/awful

I was told from the beginning that the move would take between 3 and 10 days from NJ to GA, which made sense to me. When the movers came to pick up my furniture, I was asked when the first preferred receive delivery date. I gave him 9 days after the pick up date. I thought I was very reasonable. Two weeks passed and I had not received any phone calls to tell me when my furniture would be arriving. I started to email and call the company's representative that I talked at the beginning. She told me it was out of her hand and someone from logistic would call me. When that lady called me, she told me my stuff was still in NJ warehouse because the truck broke down. I asked why nobody called me. She said she didn't know she would need to call me. She said the truck had been fixed and should be heading for GA the next date. And, she said the definition of the first preferred date is the day my furniture leaving the warehouse in NJ. Does this make sense? I finally received my furniture 23 days after the pick-up. When the movers came and open the truck, my boxes were basically thrown in the truck, and therefore most boxes (I mean strong/thick boxes) were out of shape. When they moved my furniture into this truck, my antique mirror was broken, some chair legs were damaged or broken, table legs were broken, and my piano were chipped. I was charged over $2700 from the estimate, which I was told it was 10% over it should be, just in case. I tried to call my original contact and she refused to take my calls or return my emails. Please do not use this moving company. You will for sure regret what you did, just like me. The movers who picked up my furniture and who delivered my furniture were OK. It is the movers who moved my furniture from truck (for pick-up) to warehouse and warehouse to truck (for delivery) were really bad. The representatives that I contacted with were also horrible.
