No Complaints

It was pretty good. Probably a last minute thing, but it was probably the most inexpensive way to go. They charge by weight, customer service was great and I have no complaints. Right now we are just waiting for our stuff and their ETA for that is less than 14 days but I've been contacting dispatch almost on a daily basis, they're telling me they can be there at the end of the week, in a week and a half , but none the less it's pretty good. They will cheat you.

i wanted to share my experience about my move with Golden state Van lines. They have quoted me the best price and i went a head with them as you were refereed by my friend(who was referred by his friend). you pick-up was the good. you guys came on time and took all the stuff without any issue. i loved it. I was happy that i was moving it with you guys. But the trouble started when you shared the Driver details and when i called him he was rude and said that it might take 10-15 days for delivery. I was patient and when the day came to deliver the stuff, it was Thanks Giving.(11/24) He called me around 11am saying that he is near my leasing office and i took him into the community and then parked as soon as he moved in and said that he cannot drive any further as its a big truck. then i asked him my options and he gave me 2 options 1) pay 500$ more and he will rent a small truck and move my stuff 2) pay 250$ for long move I told him that i dont have money and he was very very rude, saying if i dont pay he will make sure that my stuff is lost and he was threatening me. i tried calling them and they were not available as its thanks Giving. I have shown truck driver both the entrances to enter the community and he was saying that its not possible to enter the community and he was saying that its physics which i dont. I checked with my community and they said that people move here with Big trucks and they have shown me the construction trucks which were parked inside the community and it had 18 wheels there are better ways to Charge customers. i would have been happy if you would have asked me the money upfront, this is not the way you cheat customers and take extra money. Thanks for ruining my thanks givings plans. I will never refer you to any friend and i check with my friend and even he was asked for 250$, but he knew about this trick and he did not pay them. i was not aware of this trick and i paid 250$. They were very cautious and had a good ...

They came out, moved what we needed and were very efficient. The movers came out later in the day, a little later than their appointment time, but once they got here they visually saw the job that needed to be done, they wrapped the furniture, they moved it from one office to another. The whole process took about an hour and a half. they were very cautious, and very careful of the equipment and had a very good attitude in all that was asked of them. Read more

Not a trustworthy company

Please learn from our mistakes and do not use Golden State Van Lines. I wish we had paid more for a legitimate moving company with higher standards of service. Golden State Van Lines lost multiple boxes of ours, more than $2,500 worth of value, and we witnessed them damage other items when they were unloading, including our nicest piece of furniture, by being rough and careless and slamming things around. Since we brought it to the company's attention that several of our boxes were missing, they were slow and disorganized in their response and unclear about the steps they were taking to locate the missing items or the process for recourse. To get any updates from them on what was happening with their search, we would have to call and call their office line until someone picked up. Then we would be told that they were still working on it and needed more time. Two weeks after we told them about our missing items, we were told we could begin the process for filing a claim. Their Claims Department staff consists of one person who was also difficult to reach. And since we had limited liability insurance, we will only get reimbursed 60 cents per pound of missing items. This will be a huge financial loss to us, as this doesn’t take into account the value of the missing items at all. In the end it will save you money to use a better company. But if you do use this company, label all your boxes and document exactly what’s in them, pay for good insurance, and cross your fingers that things turn out okay. Read more

Everything was good except they missed ...

It was good, they were professional. Everything was good except they missed two of our items. So I mailed them that we had two missing boxes, that is not very costly I would say, but it was missing. They said they'd keep an eye and if they found them, they'd send it back to us. Apart form that, everything was good. They did it in the expected time. Read more

Watch hidden costs

Web site says free boxes and 10% off materials.My total was $660.Bid said $540 for storage mine was$660(said can,t pro-rate)Gave them 35days notice for delivery,came 6 days after that date.Last thing we gave them was our vacuum cleaner,it did not show.Don,t bother calling them.Just get answering machine offering you a "blessed day". Except for the price, the move went ...

The moving company came on time and did a good job. They were hardworking people. There was no damage to our furniture. But the only thing that disappointed us was their pricing. Their initial quote was $600, but we ended up paying $1,200! Except for the price, everything worked out fine. They were nice and friendly and we are satisfied. Read more
