We booked them for a cross country move and the entire experience from beginning to end was unbelievably HORRENDOUS. They give you an estimate WITHOUT physically assessing what needs to be moved and give you a low price "only to be increased by 3 to 5 times" just to get the contract signed, with a "NON-REFUNDABLE" down payment. Completely disreputable company

Broke my piano - LOST my great-grandmother's hope chest! DO NOT USE!! Great Vans has several locations - the one out of Florida is run by complete criminals. I looked at reviews not realizing the different locations. This one has horrible reviews across the board. They steal,they are rude,they have no regard for your things. They have 34 complaints at the BBB. No wonder the salespeople are so pushy. I have not had the horror of being subjected to such a completely disreputable company in quite a while. I moved a lot in the military - this puts those small hassles and inconveniences to shame. DO NOT USE. Read more

Awful experience

I should have looked in into it more and that's my fault for choosing this awful company. From the start it was a bad experience but that ended even worst when they damaged 25% of my stuff and to top it off lost over 10 boxes! To that a month later still were unable to find! Broken glass, and water damage on mostly everything, it was hard to not feel that they somehow did this on purpose. They take no fault of damage, when you call to complain they just say okay call this number and that's it. Nothing will get fixed and the policy for damage is 60cent per pound. That's $10,000 loss claim rewarded amount = $350 ! This company is completely insane and a RIP off. Read more

RUN AWAY

Really terrible experience. Once we started unpacking I realized the box that contained my wedding dress and all my jewelry was missing. I had foolishly labelled the outside of that box 'jewelry', not thinking that would make it a target for potential theft. I filed a complaint and made it clear I don't want money for my loss, I really just want that box to be returned to me. Nothing was extremely valuable, but it is irreplaceable and sentimental. It contained jewelry that were wedding gifts from my husband, heirloom pieces from deceased relatives, and items I've had since I was a baby. Not to mention my wedding dress. Four months later, they offer me $72 for their mistake, with no indication that they have put in any effort to actually locate the box. I've tried calling a few times, but they put me on hold, then hang up. They also increased the quoted price by about $1000 once they came to pick up my stuff. So I feel like I overpaid, then got stolen from. DO NOT HIRE THIS MOVING COMPANY. Read more
