Terrible. Stay Away

Avoid, avoid, avoid at ALL costs! I've never had such a terrible experience with movers. First, the quote I was given and told be to the "total price, period" was $208 more expensive than the price I paid once the movers arrived. As they packed my small amount of belongings into boxes, I was told each box would cost $20. The the head mover deiced to only charge me $15 per box since I mentioned that he didn't tell me about this charge before they started boxing up my stuff. Not a big deal, but not a great start to the move. He also mentioned that I needed to tip in cash so he wouldn't have to pay taxes on the tip. We were told they charge by the hour with a four hour minimum, and with three movers and a small amount of stuff the move should've taken 4 hours max. One of the three movers stayed in the truck the entire time, not once did he move a single box. As they other two movers were unpacking my apartment, they filled the small living space with all of my boxes, leaving no room for my couch. After filling my apartment with my bed frame, mattress and boxes, the head mover said that my box spring and couch would not fit up the stairs. I went down to inspect and suggested he take the small legs off of the couch to try to get it to fit, but he refused and said it wound't fit no matter what. I questioned how he could get both the bed frame and the mattress up the stairs but not the box spring, and I was told he was the professional, not me, and that it wouldn't fit. The head mover also told me that if we left the box spring outside of the apartment complex, the city would fine the apartment. At this point, I realised I had paid nearly $1,000 for nothing, since the only two large pieces of furniture I had were not going to make it up to my apartment. Needless to say i didn't tip, and the mover left the box spring out side of the building despite the fact that he had just informed me that we would get a fine if the box spring was left outside. The movers decided to take my couch that "wouldn't fit' with them, without my verbal content. After calling and speaking a mangers to complain about this terrible experience,the manager said that he would send over a new crew of guys to try to fit the items up the stairs again (impossible, my furniture is now gone) but they if the movers could fit my furniture up the stairs this time, I would have to re-pay the moving company. I wondered why the manager suspected that my furniture could magically fit the second time when his own movers were so adamant that nothing would fit up the stairs. All in all, this company didn't complete the job, they took my couch without my verbal consent, they refused to help me come up with a solution and then they suggested I pay them a second time if they could fit my stuff up the stairs, which they should've been able to do the first time. Customer Service

I didn't get pass the customer services and i was displeased, right off the bat she said that is the minimum price of 1,245.00. The price was too high 1245.00 just for boxes and that is what i told her, she told me i couldn't get a better price then that. So i immediately told her that i have gotten quotes cheaper and she told me to send the boxes my self to FedX. She didn't ask me how many boxes or even say let me see what i can do. Moving Items to Florida

This was the worst experience I've had with a moving company. They delivered the items late, some of the items arrived damaged and they refused to bring some items up to the apartment claiming there was no room in the elevator. One of the neighbors helped bring the rest of the items to the apartment. They will never return your call unless it's to collect money. Read more

Everything went smooth

They came very early in the morning, in fact they came earlier than expected. They were very fast in loading the furniture and everything. It took some time for them to get to the destination because of traffic but after that everything went smooth. I got a price estimate ahead of time but I had to pay extra because they took one hour longer than expected so I paid for the labor for the extra hour. Read more

It was just a horrible experience.

They broke my furniture, they broke my computer desk, they broke my heater, they broke my computer chair, the legs and the wheels and everything. It took them a whole week to give me my shipment. They screwed up my order, it was one price, then it was another. They practically left half my furniture. It was a horrible experience. If this is a company you are recommending to people, you should take them off the list. Read more

It was ok

The team that worked closely with me was good. However, I got one price over the phone and then the estimate guy came in and $1500 went all the way up to $3500. The price kinda jumped very high unexpectedly. This is the only reason I was very concerned about this company, but other than that the service, the support was good. So I liked the company. Just about the price, I had some problems with. [The packing] was okay, it was average. Some stuff had some minor breaks, but it was a big load so you can expect that to happen. Friendly crew, good service

Overall they were good but they have broken a microwave. Actually, it was accidental. I have to claim that thing but I have to call the company. I didn't find time actually, I was so busy. They took one of our hand carts with them also. Price was okay. I did receive all the services that I requested. I would recommend them to my friends and family. They did a good job of packing. Very dependable! We moved my parents to a smaller apartment from a home they lived at for 30 years or so. Jose and his guys took care of them as if they were their own parents! Lisa was our customer service person that gave us the support we needed before the move (and the quote of course). Jose was the leader that day and I could tell that he has loads of experience. I was pleased with this moving company for the most part. They were very careful with all of my boxes on both ends of the move and they didn't break anything. Also they were able to complete the move in a reasonable amount of time and the only drawback was that they quoted me for less than what they actually ended up charging. Could have been better

High Touch was very helpful and responsive in setting up the move. Problem arose when the 9 to 10 a.m. arrival turned into a 10:45 arrival. Movers however were apologetic and worked in a professional manner. The delivery went well except for corner of dresser mirror which was broken. When I sent email to Moses of High Touch to address issue, he never responded. I would have appreciated a response. If they had addressed broken mirror issue, I could have rated them higher. Positive experience with High Touch ...

We are pleased with our moving experience (from NY to Arizona) with High Touch Moving Systems. Although we paid extra $500 for a shuttle truck in AZ, the overall cost of moving was comparable to other moving companies’ estimations. The most important, we received our belongings in perfect condition (nothing was broken or lost) and on time. The first crew in NY arrived promptly and completed their work in five hours. The driver of the major truck-trailer called us several times informing of his progress moving towards AZ. The crew from a local company using a smaller truck was also prompt and skillful in assembling furniture and putting everything in the right places. Glen, the manager from the High Touch Moving Systens, was constantly on the phone supervising the process. All documentation was clear and accurate. Good Experience

The movers arrived on time and started right away (while I signed some paperwork). They were courteous, assured me that the move would go smoothly and handled the delicate items with great care. The entire move took 3.5 hours (minimum is 4 hours billed) and items were placed in the rooms that I wanted. All boxes, packing tape etc was removed when the job was completed. Minor Issues: 1 - I ordered NEW wardrobe boxes but the ones brought were used previously, not a big deal but you pay $20 for new wardrobe boxes (used are $15). 2 - My grandfather clock and dresser mirror were going to be crated according to the rep (Moses) but they were wrapped in blankets then wrapped in cardboard. When I hear crated I think an actual crate will be used to secure the items so be aware of that. Neither item was damaged as each was strapped inside the truck. 3 - this is an industry gripe as the insurance offered by most movers is either 30 or 60 cents a pound which is rediculous so you are almost forced to purchase additional insurance if you want to cover your items in case anything happens.
