Poor move
I was surprised how much more they charged for the move since we purchased our own boxes to put our clothes in. We told them the date we needed the furniture to be delivered and they agreed. Then they came back and said it would be three to seven days before they delivered. They finally agreed to deliver the next day. They were all wrinkled. They were not on time coming and leaving. Several of my crystal glasses were broken and several pictures frames once I unpacked them. I now know next time to have a company come out to the house and tell me actually how much the move is going to cost and a exact time when they are to be there.

Great customer service. Straight to the point, friendly and informative. And the best part, simple. Phew. I have a little bit of movig PTSD but every time I got naggy they were so calm that I became calm. No problems. I have only positive things to say.

Accommodating
I work two jobs and thankfully they came at the exact time window they said they would so that I wouldn't be in any sort of conflict with my jobs. Very accommodating.

Flexible Movers
Got stuck on a plane and wasnt able to make it back to meet the movers but they allowed me to ask my neighbor to stand in for me. Maybe this is standard but it made my life a lot easier so I appreciate it.

Easy work move
Moving to Kentucky was much easier than expected. My company took care of my move for me so although I didn't speak with these guys before moving day itself, I was really happy with their services from that point on. I didn't hear any complaints from my HR person either so I'm guessing the pre-pick-up phase was good too :)

packed my TV for free
The movers were in and out very quickly and even packed my TV for free. No complaints.

These guys are pros, my rep Will helped me from start to finish on the phone and supervised my move. Then I didn't speak much tio the mvoers but they were pretty quick and efficient. I would recommend Intertstate and one of my friends is moving with them soon.

Professional and very friendly
I never recommended a moving company before - but I feel like Interstate Movers really deserves it. On the day of the move they arrived exactly on time, ready for action. My house was completely empty after just three hours of work, which goes to show how professional they are. Besides that, the guys were goofy and very friendly, had a great time talking to them as they loaded my belongings onto the truck.

Some things were good and some things ...
It went ok, I wouldn't say great I wouldn't say bad, it went ok. The actual move went fine, it was the bidding process and the estimation process that we had an issue with. It turned out to be the same as all the online quotes. The estimator did not come out the residence. We filled out the inventory and they required us to estimate the number of boxes that we require so they could do a cubic foot analysis. It's almost impossible for someone outside the industry to estimate how many boxes and what type of boxes I was going to take. That became an issue because when the showed up they initially estimated like 1490. I told them the weight of what my move was and the adjusted the cubic based on that. They came out and we were about 500 cubic feet over what our original estimate was. They ended up charging us an extra $3000 the day of the move and by then it's already too late. The packing was outstanding, the wrapping and shrink wrapping everything. The putting stuff in the boxes, labeling the boxes was haphazardly done. We're finding boxes labeled for one room that actually belong in a different room. We found a couple of boxes that had lost their tags during the move. The pick up guys were great, on the delivery there was an issue. We came into a 2 story house and so the first day they split the loads up into 2 different loads because of the location of our house. They couldn't drive the big tractor trailer down the road and turn it around. The first guy was outstanding, they did a great job. The second guy the first thing he did when he showed up was complain that he had to go up stairs because there were some big boxes. All he did was complain for the first 10 minutes. It was little things like that. That's why I said it was ok, some things were good and some things were bad, but it was ok.

I'm not satisfied with their service
The move was terrible. I 'm honestly speaking because I'm not satisfied with their service. First of all, they were very late. They were suppose to be there around 8 or 9 in the morning and they showed up at 7 p.m. I had to make my family stay in a hotel, spending another 4-5 hundred bucks. They promised they would move everything, once they get the quote they will take care of it. When they arrived here they said they cannot take this or that and that I had to pay extra. They were not very clear at the beginning. I agreed with the estimate but afterwards they said no.

The pricing was completely inaccurate.
The customer service people put me on hold when I tried to call them for problems that I was having. They would put me on hold for 10, 15, 20 minutes sometimes. The mover who came to pack up my goods decided to estimate the cost that it was gonna be and he estimated like thousands of dollars more than what we had originally decided on. I had to engage in all kinds of negotiations with him at the location. It was just from start to finish a horrible move. Those were just two of the things that stuck out.

Could not fit all the quoted in truck
Subcontracted movers said the inventory listed items were under estimated in weight and they could not fit all our items on their truck. They said they could come back another day for the rest but that would be additional cost. So the "Binding contract for the inventory list" wasn't binding on their part. Bottom line a big part of the items listed on the contract did not get moved. And no the price didn't come down. Don't move without having someone do a sight inventory and pricing. And don't use Interstate Movers. The subcontractor "all USA movers. Did a good job packing. Don't know which is to blame for the inaccurate pricing and estimating shipping size. Also had terrible scheduling issues with interstate.

Helpful but there were communication ...
They were nice, helpful and stuff, very quick about doing it but it was hard to communicate with them because they didn't speak good English. And so, I didn't know what they were actually doing, and when it came to asking them questions about when they were going to arrive at my destination they weren't sure and then of course I had to wait for the following week until I actually got my stuff. I found some small scratches and dents in some of my items even though they were in boxes. Overall, I probably would not go with them again, because there were a few things they did that I didn't like.

Half of my stuff is missing!
It was very bad. They contracted an independent contractor to pick up and deliver my stuff, and they separated my stuff, put it in the storage facilities, got part of it one time, part of it another time. Half of it is missing, a lot of damaged items upon delivery. Now they won't even call me back. I'm trying to figure out what I can do about this and they're not even giving me a call back.

Efforts appreciated
I admit I'm a bit of a serial reviewer (although it's usually restaurants and hotels that I write about) and I'm very happy to give these guys a thumbs-up. They put a lot of work into getting my estimate ready and put their backs into the move itself (I have several heavy items of furniture that I know from experience are not easy to shift), and I appreciate their efforts.

Very respectable work
Schlepping a husband and three kids from one coast to another is never going to be an easy task, much less taking all their stuff with them! It was with a little anxiety that I called Interstate Movers after taking a job in DC as I expected an astronomical sum to be handed to me. However, although it was an expensive move it definitely wasn't at the rate I feared. We had a lot of boxes for all the toys (I include my husband's gadgets in that lot!) which did boost our cubic feet a lot, but it made it easy to get an accurate quote. The freakish weather we've been having meant we were without our stuff for a while as the truck made its way across the country but I can't really place any responsibility for that with Interstate. All in all there was nothing to criticize about the move, which in itself is a sizable recommendation.

Did what they were supposed to
This was my third move in 4 years and it is starting to get like a routine! I'd gone with the same few movers the first couple of time but wasn't so happy with the second round, so decided to change it up. I gave Interstate Movers a try as I remembered they were one fo the companies that quoted me last time, and I was really happy with them. They just got on with what they were supposed to, kept me in the loop while my lot was in transit and delivered it in one piece. Basically exactly what a mover is supposed to do but what often doesn't happen!

We don't feel we were given great ...
The woman I booked the service with, I said to her, "When should they pick up so that we can definitely get the stuff by a certain day?" She told me when to have them pick up because I said I wasn't going to be able to use the service if they couldn't get it by a certain day. I don't care how early they pick up, I just needed to make sure it was there by this certain time period. She made the promise and everything. Then the night before everything was due to be here, I had called because no one had contacted me. When I called, she wouldn't get back to me via phone or email or anything. I finally got dispatch to get back to me and they told me that my stuff had never even left, that it was just sitting in storage up at my home in Delaware. Then I called the actual guy who came and picked everything up, he was very nice, his name was Freddy. He ended up going and picking up a bunch of my stuff and getting it to us within two days of that happening. So that was fine, but then when the other stuff came a couple days later, all the movers did was bring it into my garage and pack it all the way up to the ceiling. It was garage items mixed with household items. Our computer was at the bottom of the pile. Then we have things that were missing and I have filed a claim. The guys that came that second time to do the second delivery were not very nice. No one has gotten back to us about anything that was missing.

so much fun! great workers!
I had so much fun with this company!! Which is weird to say right? Cause it's a moving company and not like a party full of friends. When we were packing and loading things onto the truck it felt that way though! We put music on and danced. Well I danced. Me and my girlfriend. The movers just laughed at us! It was so much funnnn!!! I liked it though. It was like we were friends not like we had to be robots and be professional just cause we were doing business together. I mean, the movers were professional and did an outstanding job but still. It was nice to see that they were people too!!

very happy! thanks! :)
I was moving in with my boyfriend (because after 3 years that's what normal couples do right?) and since my job was more flexible as far as where I could work we decided it was best for me to move to Indiana instead of him moving to Florida where his job opportunities were more limited. He couldn't take off work to help me though and since my family also lives in a different state I was all alone in packing and moving. Thankfully though, the truckers had tools and were able to take care of the big things while the little boxes and stuff I helped carry out. Only took two days for my things to arrive in Indiana. It was really great and so convenient. Very much recommended!!

HORRIBLE COMPANY
The sales representative will lie to you! I was told that there would be no fee for the mattress cover, however, once I received the final bill I was charged a total of $74 for both mattress covers! In addition, I had two lamps. When asked if they needed to be packaged any special way, again, I was told not to worry they would handle it. Their method of handling it was to charge me an additional $36 for a box to place them in without asking or checking to see. We had extra boxes at our apartment that we could have used if we knew this is what they were going to do. After picking up our stuff, we were told to expect delivery by November 15, 2013. That day came and went without any word. When I called to speak with a representative, I was told that Interstate Movers does not handle the delivery, and another company "All USA Van Lines" would have the information. I was shocked, as my sales rep assured me and sent an email saying they are a moving company. When asked to speak with Eve, my sales rep, they clammed up and said she was on vacation and was not available to speak. Annoyed, I asked to be transffered to the other company to speak with dispatch. I then spoke with the dispatch manager, Iris, who said she would look into it and call back later that afternoon. No call back from Iris, and they are closed on the weekends so I had to wait until Monday. I called on Monday, Iris acted like I was bothering her when all I wanted was an update. The paper work given to you at pick up had different delivery times, and noted that east coast would not be 1-7, but rather 1-14 days. While slightly longer, this was not the end of the world. However, when I brought this point up, Iris told me Alabama is the mid-west, and therefore they still had 21 BUSINESS DAYS, not including holidays, to deliver. More annoyed, but nothing I could do, I asked for an update on deliver time. Again, was told she would call back later on in the afternoon and I never once had her call me back. This went on as a daily routine for us, me calling and her ignoring my calls for the most part. After about two weeks of my relentless calls, I wore her down and she scheduled delivery for Friday November 29 from 8-10am. Friday morning came and went, and no driver. I called in the afternoon and spoke with Iris - she apologized and said he would come the next day from 10-12. I never got a call confirming and I sat at my place from 10-12. No calls. Office closed. Finally at 1:45 the driver called and said he was running late...really, I hadn't noticed...and wouldn't arrive until 3:45! He gets there, and charges me an extra $100 due to an obvious calculation error that he even acknowledged. However, the driver doesn't work for USA Van Lines, but is an independent guy and needs the total amount or he won't deliver the goods. He says if I don't pay he will leave, and he won't be back for at least 10 days, so I was forced to

Rude and unprofessional behavior.
It was horrific. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. I would never use them again. From start to finish, it was awful. They were very unprofessional. At one point, one of the movers was asked to leave my home after screaming at me so loudly that the neighbors threatened to call the police. They are very aware because I have spoken to them. They told me that it was my word against their driver's word and that they would stand by their driver because they never had a complaint about him before. Since we had a binding agreement, he attempted to charge me $400 or some additional. I told him that I wasn't willing to pay that. He said he wasn't going to move my belongings.

Super nice!
Ours was a very small move, a few months ago my son, who live is Kentucky, had purchased a new living room set for his house, and decided to replace it with another style. Great timing, since I had wanted to change my old living room, too! Interstate Movers gave me the best price, a senior citizen discount, and have even provided me with a free custom sofa cover. They delivered my couch on the same day after they'd picked it up from my son's house, and then helped me rearrange my living room. They were super nice!

Prompt service
It was very good. They came on time to pick up the things. Even for delivery they were very professional. I liked the way they communicated to me. They were also on time. They were pretty fast to deliver my stuff. Price was a bit high but I didn't had that many items. It was okay. I did receive all the services that I requested. Packing was done up to my satisfaction. The crew were nice. They were professional.
