The pickup was great, the delivery was also great. I didn't have any... particular issues except we found some items, some ceramic items, glass items, broken. It's not that pricey..other than that the experience was very well.

I could sum it up as absolutely ...
They gave us an initial target date and they missed that by three weeks. They repeatedly lied to us about what time they were going to deliver, what day they were going to deliver. On multiple occasions, over five, I was told I would be called back in a half hour, or within an hour or later this evening and none of those call backs were ever given. They showed up to perform the delivery and then refused to come down the street because the driver was new to driving and was not comfortable making a turn down the street so I had to go and direct traffic for the driver so he was able to make the turn. When the driver brought the truck out there was no one to unload the truck and they said that it might be a couple hours before the actual crew to unload the truck shows up, so I ended up unloading most of the truck myself. There were a couple larger, high value items like a motorcycle (which were the primary reason for hiring professional movers) and so the delivery, moving crew never showed up and the driver just took off and I still have yet to take delivery of a motorcycle going on 16 days after they were initially supposed to deliver.

Overall it was a good move.
It was great, when we booked them they gave us a date for the pick up. The movers arrived right on time, they did all the packaging, all the furniture was packed very nicely. They gave us a five day window for the drop-off and they came on the first weekday, that was also good except that they did not bring one of the boxes that was supposed to come with the move. But they were kind enough to find the box for us, they shipped it back to us. There were slight damages but they paid for everything. So in general, overall the movers were very professional, the guys involved in the moving at both locations, they were good.

My flat-screen got broken into a ...
They didn't wrap my flat-screen so it ended up getting broken into a million pieces. Unfortunately I didn't buy the insurance, so I ended up paying for that. But other than that, they got my stuff her on time, it was just that a lot of stuff was broken inside of it.

Pretty good for the price we paid!
They were pretty good for the price that we paid. We were happy. They just delivered our stuff yesterday, so we're still unpacking. Everything we've opened was not broken and they only lost two things which was very insignificant.

Trustworthy and did a good job!
I would say I had a really good experience. Everything was as promised and they showed up on time. They were trustworthy, they did a good job. they were pretty careful with all of our things. Overall it was a pretty good experience. They delivered everything on the first day of the three-day window they gave us. So it went pretty well!

Don't Hire Lightning Van Lines
One star rating is too much!!!! Please, do not do business with lightning Vanlines. I had a almost two year ordeal with them during my move from Los Angeles to Ohio in 2011. It started from the day they arrived to pick up my furniture in an U-Haul Truck, with a rude moving supervisor and a moving crew that did not speak English. They were so bad that I asked them to leave and I proceed to ask the main office for a refund on my deposit and initial moving fees, however Lightning refused to give me a refund. So I had no choice but to allow them to move me to Ohio . After I arrived in Ohio, Lightning gave me the wrong delivery date and so I was unavailable for delivery because I was out of town. Lightning assured me that "it was not a problem that they missed me because they had placed my furniture in storage at a public storage facility less than two miles from my home and that they could return at anytime to deliver my furniture when I was available." Of course this was not true, and after several failed attempts to deliver my furniture by Lightning, finally, I proposed to them to "allow me to pay them the remaining balance for my move and allow me to pick up my furniture from the public storage facility they claimed to have stored my furniture." I also offered to sign a waiver form releasing them of any liability for lost or damage furniture. Lightning refused stating that "they had to deliver my furniture because they had their pads and other moving related materials stored with my furniture." Then they added over a $1000.00 in storage fees and demanded that "I pay the fees in full before they would complete my move." Later on I found out that my furniture was still in California all this time and this was in January 2013 after I got the Department of Transportation involved after I was referred to them by Move Rescue. After, I submitted countless documents to DOT on my many attempts to resolve my dispute with Lightning, and through research I learned that "DOT had investigated Lightning in the past for bad practices and as a result they were fined. DOT ordered Lightning Van Lines to release my furniture after reviewing all of my documents, and determined that lightning had acted inappropriately. Lightning agreed to release my furniture however they refused to deliver them and they demanded that "I come to their main facility in Northern California and pick up my furniture in person." I contacted Move Rescue again who offered to transport my furniture to Ohio at no cost with the exception of paying the decrating fees to the moving company they were using to ship my furniture.When the moving company arrived at lightning's main facility to pick up my furniture Lightning Van Lines told "them that my furniture was no longer in California and that they moved it to their facility in Nevada for some unexplained reason " So I had to get DOT involved again

This was by far the best move I ever had. I cannot say enough great things about Lightning Van Lines. This company has a lot of integrity and is very flexible as well. I had to change my inventory list several times as well as my move date. They worked with me until I had it all straight, they were never impatient with me. Good service all the way around
It was good all the way around. The only thing is I told them it was three-bedroom, one-bath, 1,100 square feet and they had cubed it real small. Originally the quote was like $300 and it ended up being like $700. That is the only thing. Whoever that company that I used, they cubed it small, basically like it was only half an apartment, I was expecting to pay a heck of a lot less but they did a good job and everything. That is the only bad issue I had. They did good. They are very friendly. Pricing was fair. I received all the services that I requested. I would recommend them. They did a good job. Packing was excellent. They had to take down a couple of doors to get the refrigerator through but they did a good job.

It was excellent. They were professional. They did a good job. They were fast. They were efficient. Great job. Price was very reasonable. I was on a strict budget. So I had taken the best price. They were excellent. At times I had to wonder if I had to go with something more well known but it was just excellent for me all the way around. Absolutely nothing broke, not one thing was dismantled or broke. I haven't to completely unpack the rest of the stuff but I am sure it will be fine. Yes I did received all the services that I requested. For future customers I would say just a normal excellent service. Very reasonable and best price. I felt that they were honest. That is a refreshing. So it was good. I very rarely give the best score but they were really good. They answered my calls, did everything. Good communication. Everything was excellent. I would refer them to my friends and to everybody. If I move again I go to them. Hopefully it will work out.

Was a very stressful move
What happened was my husband ended up having to go find and rent a truck, purchase it on his own which is something that we were paying this company to move us. This is incredible inconvenience. The crew that came with Lightining Vanlines did end us moving that day but it was touch and go. The options that were offered by this company was either move the following day or purchase our own truck. Then the movers would move us. We lost three hours on the moving day because we had to mess around with this problem. The movers themselves were very courteous. They were very polite. They were careful with our belongings but it was an incredibly stressful situation. I was really taken aback that the company has assured me so many times that they would understand where they were going, understand the logistics of the move and we are taking care of everything. Furthermore, I spoke with three representatives prior to the move and I told them repeatedly what the situation was logistics is getting to pick up location. I expressed them very clearly that they needed to be sure that they were bringing the appropriate size truck and the large truck will not get to up to where we were. I tried in every way to communicate what the situation was to them. However, it didn't seem to matter because when they got here the guys brought the wrong size truck. There wasn't really proper communication within the company itself. So that was my experience. We didn't hired another company. The crew from this company actually did move us that day but we had to go pickup our own truck and pay for that. That is an additional expense we were not expecting to have and also the amount of time loss and stress that it put upon us was above and beyond what we were expecting.

Prompt service
It was good. I had to move and it was pretty much simple from point A to point B. I don't know about the prices. I don't often move. I don't have a baseline to compare. I have nothing to complain about. It was exactly what they quoted. It is not less. The crew members were good. Polite and courteous. Not over the top but as a matter of fact pretty much what you see is what you get. Packing was to my satisfaction.

They showed up on time. The customer service was good. They were double the price of what they quoted which I didn't appreciate. The movers did their best to get it down to a reasonable price. So that was okay. The crew members were very good. They worked fast. They were courteous and respectful. Everything was fine as far as packing is concerned. For customer service I can say one thing not to under quote people because you have to be surprised to find out the price was doubled when the guy shows up. I feel that they did the service but just to expect the price is doubled once they show up.

Amazing crew excellent job
First of all the three gentlemen that moved me came into a situation where I was not able to pack small things like dishes and stuff. The price that I was quoted was based on time. They were able to get through the initial moving of the furniture so quickly on purpose so they would have time to pack all my dishes and still keep me from getting charged over average. They hussled like they want to save me money without any expectation of additional tip. They were awesome. Everything was in great shape. The price was little higher than what I used to paying. However, I would absolutely prefer to pay that price for that type of service than pay a little bit less and be a little bit up in the air about what kind of service I am going to get. I have moved every single year for the past five or six years. These guys were like the best at it as a skill and also just in terms like customer service. They were not just fast but made sure all my furniture was in great shape. They wrapped everything up. They were diligent, and quick. There was nothing in their contract that it would have benefitted from being a little longer and running over. I had them do a bunch of things that they were not planning to do. For my sake they hussled and got it done. Everything was in good shape. I will pay for them again in a heartbeat. They were great. The crew was amazing. The best part was they coming in and looking around. Two of the guys started moving the big stuff and the crew chief talked to me about what I wanted and where I was going. Basically he tried to get an idea about what the move was. He kept on kind of talking to me a little bit like kept the conversation going so that he could sense like without me having to say if I am getting nervous about time or you know a particular item. He would just take care of it. Those were nice guys. They were friendly. Honestly, it was one of the most positive moving experiences I ever had. I decided to move me into storage and I had to unpack yet. I watched them pack a lot of stuff. It was all done perfectly. I watched them pack all the fragile stuff like fv, glass table and dishes. I couldn't believe they were doing it so fast because they were doing it better than I would have done it by myself.

The Best Move Ever
The entire team from Lightning was A+. The movers were professional, helpful and efficient. All my stuff arrived undamaged and accounted for in Vermont ahead of schedule. There were no hidden fees, and I feel I received excellent service for my money. Daniel Ramos and Ullyses Torres were especially helpful at the Vermont end, and dealt with a difficult parking situation to my complete satisfaction. I would not hesitate to use Lightning again..they exceeded my expectations!
