Everything went wrong

I think everything went wrong with the move. They did not come on time to pick up the goods. They gave me three dates--25th, 26th or 27th of June, and they did not come on any of those days. They came on the 28th which was way late for me. Then the movers came, and basically tried to change the contract. They said you have to pay more, and they did everything wrong and I did not want them to move, and they said no you have to move, there is no other way. They loaded up my goods into the truck and they did not want me to go with them to weigh the truck. They never gave me what was the truck's weight, they never gave me what was the goods weight. They just kept saying you have to pay more. Until I pay, they won't release the stuff. When they brought the stuff, some of my stuff was already broken. There was a tiny problem but they came ...

It was okay, They had forgotten a couple of things that I had asked for them to ship, one of which was a really oblong, awkward piece for a convertible. I said, be sure to ship this because there's no way for me to get it in my car and they didn't ship it. I called them afterward and asked them what I could do (if I could ship it or if they could come get it because they're local) and they just never returned my call. However, I called them in the afternoon on a Tuesday or Wednesday and they came the next morning. They were very willing. They were great. All they did was leave the last piece behind which is okay. Would not go with them ever again

They cheated with everything

They cheated with everything. They showed up on time and they came up and said no this is not the actual weight. So I told them why don't you go to a weigh station and weight it. I was not there, my friends where there and the movers told them that the closest weigh station was 60 miles away and that if they wanted to come they could follow the movers. Since I was already in CT I asked my friends if they could go, they said no cause they had work. The movers they told me that they were going to the station to the weigh it and that they would send me the receipt. The move was on the weekend, so I made a call on Monday and they said they did not weigh it so the price would remain the same. They quoted me for my stuff and then I told them that I might sell half of it. I sold half of my stuff and the deal was that they would weight it and they would charge me less according to that amount. Even after I sold my stuff they said your weight still stands the same. Smooth moving

I hired Low Cost Moving with my move from Studio City to Chatsworth. I'm glad that I hired them. The moving process went very smooth. It was my first time using this company. I'm lucky enough to get good experience with my move, from the start to finish. Contacted them by phone, I asked a lot of questions, since I wasn't sure how they will calculate the moving cost. I added packing / wrapping service for a few of my stuff, since I wasn't sure how to pack them securely. It was stressful to prepare everything from scheduling the moving company to making sure the place is clean for my landlord to do final inspection. But Low Cost did their job according to what I asked for. They came on time and delivered everything without any damages. Since everything was on schedule, I had a few hours to tidy up and do final cleaning on my old place before my landlord arrive. Funny story, I stored my checkbook inside on of the boxes. So they were kind enough to wait until I found it. Paid the bill according to what they quoted me. I didn't see any additional fees added. I'm surprising happy with their service. I found this website because the crew asked me if I could post a feedback on Movers.com, boy I'm surprised with the reviews that they have here. I guess I'm pretty lucky since I got good experience with them. I guess it's a hit and miss thing when hiring a moving company. Tips for anyone that wants to hire a moving company: know exactly what you have to move, and write down everything when talking to the customer rep, especially if you'r a first time mover.
