Avoid them ... If you do get them ...

They showed up over 2 hours late on the day of the move. I needed to start the move before noon so that we can avoid afternoon traffic. So we did the move in peak traffic time adding to the move time. As soon as he came in, he said extra $150 for stairs !!! After some discussion, I said ok since we didnt have a plan B. (didnt have one since I thought I had the whole day to move !!! not with them). Seeing their attitude, I asked for a fixed quote and he said $540 - bit more than 3 hrs with the additional charge. Then started complaining about our furniture - its delicate or that it is old and we junked a computer desk and a couch, thinking they will take the rest. They still left most all smaller bags and a computer for which we did two trips on our car. He could have easily fitted in the truck. Basically 3 guys came doing a 1.5 guy move - a well built guy was only counting bags. Then another guy who did most work and then a kid who did a great job for his age. Just before starting he said the fixed rate was only for 3 hrs and that he will still charge hourly. The first thing he does - goes south instead of north, stops by a gas station and still overall move in 4 hrs. we were home almost a half hour before him - even in the heavy traffic we hit due to their delay.
