THIS COMPANY IS TERRIBLE - FURNITURE ...
THIS EXPERIENCE WAS HELL. DON'T GO WITH THEM! I also wouldn't go with ATLAS moving company either as they subcontract this type of sub-par company. Here's what happened: Metropolitan Van picked up my furniture in San Diego on a Sunday. I noticed that the mover wasn't unscrewing the legs to the couch, and even asked about it but he told me, "no it's fine." I shouldn't have listened to him. They took all the furniture and told me and my husband that it would arrive in the Bay Area on Tuesday morning first thing. They also said that it would not be transported between trucks. Tuesday morning - nothing. Radio silence. I call the company who says they will not be delivering the furniture until Thursday. We have a toddler, and have basically packed for two days, not four days. They're rude on the phone, and also try to increase the amount of money we owe as their estimate of the weight was off, they say. Nevermind the fact that the contract says that the price we've paid IS NOT TO EXCEED the amount ($2,300ish). Clearly they do not understand what "not to exceed" means. After much back and forth, they still gave us grief about the price. They also did not deliver until Thursday. On Thursday they arrive in a different truck. Our furniture has been hastily put in a different vehicle. It must not have been secured in any fashion because nearly EVERYTHING was damaged. I mean EVERYTHING. -couch legs gouged -new desks RUINED -powder coated furniture DESTROYED -metal kitchen stands DENTED BEYOND REPAIR. -glass pieces broken -everything filthy I was upset, but relieved I had purchased full value protection. Oh, wait! When I submit my claim I am told that the president of the company has to review it. Convenient he is on vacation for weeks. When he arrives back yet another delay occurs. Now they have to send out an inspector to review. But they don't have one. When I email them I receive legal sounding contract stuff about how they have 60 days to review things and then they can file extensions to review. Basically, the "full value protection" insurance is a SCAM. I've never been so frustrated and disappointed in a company. Ever. I honestly would not wish this company on my worst enemy. So save yourself the trouble and go with a real moving company. ** They tried to charge us $500 more, we just refused to pay it.

I was fine with the move but not with ...
They gave me a not to exceed quote ... And when we did the move ... Time-wise and mileage it came to less than the not to exceed, so the driver charged me, you know, for the time. And then I get a call back later from their office saying they have to charge me what he quoted me. So I didn't like that. He charged me twice.
