Poor service

Poor communication with clients required multiple calls emails before receiving two word emails or texts in return. Night before called to confirm received a text back saying that everything was on time for Saturday. We were ready Saturday morning by 9 AM we call them at 10 AM and they said they were stuck in Newport News and would be there later today. When phone calls were made the day of service he did not bother to answer phone nor did he respond except for a text message saying they wouldn't make it today waiting till 4 PM. HORRIBLE MOVING COMPANY!!!

Mini movers 757 is absolutely horrible. They advertise a 200 dollar full move for 2 hours but they poorly pack your things, take constant breaks, "forget" to pack rooms, and the owner Reginald Geth refuses to pay for damages to your things. They are very unprofessional and don't even give you a contract to sign. Other people have had lots of problems with them and they even had some girl come in while they were moving and was scoping out their stuff. I was charged over 700 dollars for a move that should have taken 3 hours at the most. Plus they broke a lot of my things and didn't even do every room. Avoid these people at all costs! Read more

Unacceptable Movers

I would strongly advise not using mini movers. I had an 8am appointment for a 16 ft truck and two hours of labor. They finally showed up at 4:15pm over 8 hours late. They brought a 12 ft van which was not what I paid for. They spent maybe 15 minutes in my Virginia Beach condo moving stuff out and I had a hard time making sure they grabbed everything. They left my condo at 4:30 and did not get to my house in Ghent till 6:15. It should absolutely not take that long to drive 15 miles on 264. They finally admitted that they went and helped on another job during that time. I was worried they had disappeared with my stuff. One guy threw a chair off of the beach condo balcony. I was planning on throwing the chair away anyways, but I have no idea why he would throw it off the balcony. It made a big mess that I had to clean up. I also was charged an additional $50 at the end of the move (I used a living social deal). The fee was for mileage. They might be reasonable but I was told when I set the appointment up that the living social deal would cover everything and I was up front about the miles that would need to be traveled. Very pleased with Mini-Movers. Reginald as team leader was very professional The two young men Joshua and Roy went right to work after I explained what I needed them to do. It was a lot of items that needed to be packed in the garage and a bedroom. They worked at a steady pace the entire time. Their attitudes made a stressful day very calming. They were efficient and very polite. Reginald was a dream to work with. He explained everything in detail that I had no questions. I was very very appreciative how they handled the entire move. They moved my furniture six times to get it to florida because they don't have CDL drivers on staff. Half of my stuff was broken and the owner will not answer my calls or text. Don't use them. Read more

Bad as hell

The movers are terrible , they arrive 2 hours late , the marks left behind and they still charged me for their terrible service ! I don't recommend them to none ! I talked two one of their movers and they said he doesn't even pay them on time , he never answer the phone . Just terrible . lies about location and where about multiple times ! Terrible Company and movers, please go ...

They took 4 hours to do my move, not because it was 4 hours of work but because they stood around and did nothing or argued with each other half of the time. They also damaged multiple pieces of my brand new bedroom furniture, and several other pieces of furniture as well as my outdoor patio table. They completely broke off a whole section of my computer desk. Some furniture they had taken apart to move they did not put back together before they left as they said they would. Although, I was OK with that cause I am sure they would have just damaged it, at one point I just asked them to put the stuff wherever so that they would stop damaging everything. They had no clue what they were doing at all in every aspect of the move, from carrying items to packing the truck. They attempted to charge me for the extra time, and I complained that they were terribly innefecient and took several breaks to make phone calls or just stood around and argued with each other and they would not leave unless I paid them $100 extra. I wanted them off of my property so I paid the $100, this was coming from the manager over the phone, but he wouldn’t talk to me he was just telling it to his employee who had would repeat everything he said. I immediately called the manager once the employees left and he said someone would come out to asses the damage on a certain date. No one ever showed, and I called the manager back, set another date. No one ever showed again and he said that the employees told him that everything was already damaged and they didn’t do it so he wasn’t going to do anything. This is the opposite of the truth and I let him know that, he then said he would come out himself and inspect. He never showed up either, and this just continues on. Mini Movers was a little late - 45 minutes. I was a little worried, but when I met their movers they were worth the wait. I never met a kinder more courteous representative of a company. J. Extremely Satisfied

I was extremely satisfied with Jamal and Ivey. They came in, introduced themselves and promptly got my stuff moving. I let Reg know I was skeptical especially from reading some of these reviews. These guys proved that the reviews are bogus. They handled my belongings as if they were their own and I really appreciate that. I had my stuff moved to a storage unit until my house is complete. I called Mini Movers price shopping but also realizing my short timestable to move. After speaking with Mr. Red discusing the services needed and the care required to move my items. I was assured my move would be a swift transition and indeed it was!!!! The guys were very punctual, covered/wrapped my things carefully, and sensitive to my request in handling certain items. Horrible service - 6 hours late

I had a horrible moving experience. I had a booked my move with minimovers 757 in mid -July for early August move date - scheduled for 1PM. I had a groupon and explained that. Then movers were almost 6 hours late, they kept saying we are on our way but with all the accidents, it does not take 6 hours to go 60 miles even with a few accidents. The groupon stated within 100 miles. But during their delay when I had called them the 3rd time to inquire where they were......they asked me how I was paying for this, I told them through a groupon. This is when they said once they get my stuff, it is only a 5 miles service limit, then $5.00 a mile after that. Nothing noted in the fine print, they also charge for 50.00 for each flight of stairs. You think they would be upfront about this when we spoke to confirm, no mention of anything of this. I feel that Reginald is not an ethical business owner. His 2 men arrived in a enterprise rental truck were efficient and got me moved in no time, while Reginald sat in his minvan talking on the phone, then there to collect the additional money. I will never use them again...and have mentioned to everyone I talk to about the poor service - I received and people want to know their name so they will never use them. Not worth the stress! Absolutely do NOT recommend

Where to begin with this horrible experience?! First they showed up 5 hours late! The crew was friendly but two of them didn't speak English so they did not understand any of the instructions I was giving them. They packed the truck up in no time and unpacked the truck just as fast. The problem was that all of my furniture had some sort of mark or nick or scratch but my dresser was destroyed. It looked like they slid it across the cement ground multiple times. When I called the manager about this he said he was on his way over to asses the damages and collect the payment. He then text me accusing me of avoiding payment because I wasn't answering the door, the guy wasn't even at the right apartment!!! He was extremely unprofessional. Once he finally got to the correct apartment he said they would replace my dresser by Wednesday. It is now a month and a half and I still don't have a replacement dresser. I have emailed him multiple times and he never responds, I have called and he doesn't answer. I get a text back saying can't talk, text me. So I text him and he never answers back. Unfortunately, can't recommmend

I got minimovers757 through Thumbtack, and I was very complete in my information on my move, i.e. one flight of stairs on one end, no stairs on the other, 17 miles altogether, and so on. I was quoted $200 flat for the move out and the move in, including four hours of move time, truck and men. Two very nice and professional young men arrived just after 8 AM on Thursday Morning, even though they were promised at 9 AM, but that was no problem, as I was quite ready. The move itself was extremely efficient, out and in by 10:30 AM. One of the two young men called in to his boss to let him know we were finished, and came back telling me that the cost would be $290. I had already gotten a money order for them for the $200 quote. I was told that the extra $90 was for a fuel surcharge on the 17 miles, and the one flight of stairs out of the old apartment. This was not coming directly from the young man who did the move, it was from his boss, who said that he knew nothing of the quote. Fortunately, I had printed out our e-mails which confirmed the quote. Finally, the boss gave in and they accepted my Money Order. So, to conclude, the two young men did a great job, but were caught in the middle when it came to the quote problem. Fantastic Moving Experience

I hired MiniMovers 757 in late November, 2013 to move my family from our home, into a smaller apartment (on the top floor). We were very pleased at the overall experience. We were very gracious for the politeness of the moving crew and their upbeat attitude. The moving crew for the most part seemed to be college students. DO NOT HIRE

The movers were suppose to be at my house at 7 am but showed up an hour later. The whole time they spent cursing, complaining, and being calling their manager telling him lies. They broke my freezer, dresser, and damaged my walls. They called the owner and told them that we had three sofas and that we needed to be charged more when in reality we only had one. The owner took the freezer for repairs and came back with tape around the cord and said that it was fixed. He then said that I would receive compensation for the food that I lost and also fix the damage to the railing. I have revived no compensation and my walls and railing have not been fixed. If I knew this is the way they handle business I would have never hired. I was quoted one prices and halfway through the process they said they had to charge me more because it took longer then what they expected. Broken items

They broke two of my statues and didn't even tell me. They threw one in the trash and the second one was broken with the pieces left in my storage unit. When I told the owner, he told me he saw the one that was in the trash and came days later to pick up the broken one. He told me that he would have it fixed or replaced. Well, I moved in on Thanksgiving 2013, and as of today, my statue has not been returned. I have called him on numerous occasions and he has an excuse each time. very very good move

we asked Mini Movers 757 to move a dozen big items: piano, refrigerator, washer/dryer, a queen size bed , TV cabinet, China Cabinet, cloth cabinet ,2 file cabinet, book shelf. Reginald did the estimation and gave us a very good price quota. On the moving day, they came a little later ( 2:25PM , was supposed to be 2PM) with 4 guys because of the piano, they finished loading ( including disassembling) in about 2 hours.it was total dark when they reached my new home. 5 guys unloaded and assembled all the big items in about 2hours.we are very happy with their service, because it was dinner time during unloading, I bought a couple of pizzas ( I can see everyone is hungry because they had to lift heavy items like piano) for them , also I gave them total $100 tips ( for 5 guys). They took a really long time to come for pickup. One of the movers had a radio blaring the whole time. And I have two little kids. And they broke my son’s dresser door. The actual cost came down a bit because they broke our dresser. Read more
