Cruel, inconsiterate, and reckless ...

We had used Moore Movers in the past to move my father from his home and take some items to him at his assisted living facility and bring the rest to our home. It was a stressful time for us, putting my father in this home and sorting through all of his belongings. I was unable to deal with a garage or estate sale at the time as my mother had recently passed away. The company did an excellent job of moving us so I contacted them again when we moved from our home to another city. Moore advertises that they specialize in moving seniors.My husband and I are seniors, and I had a broken foot at the time, and we had a stair lift in our home to assist me to get up and down the stairs. The home we were moving into had stairs but no stair lift. The move was planned for two stages since we had so much stuff, with our stuff as well as my parents stuff. I was confident that the movers knew what to do, so I left my husband in charge and went to an appointment in town. When I returned I discovered the movers had loaded every piece of furniture, and just dumped the contents of drawers,. As I approached the house they were carrying a triple piece of furniture and a pair of my panties fell out. I was horrified. They had unloaded a curio cabinet that contained antique dishes and set the pieces around ON TOP OF THE BOXES WE HAD PACKED FOR THEM TO MOVE, and which obviously did not get moved. The next day they came to finish the load that we had packed. They decided they were through moving the boxrd items and they left for the new city while I was left to pack up my van with things that were essential for our move that day and should have gone on the moving van. The crew did not tell me they were leaving, but left that to my husband when he came and told me they had gone and that he had to catch up to them and lead them to our new home. The remaining items were a great struggle for me to haul and load. I finally got to our new home and the movers began to ask me where various furniture items were to be placed. I told them to put the beds and furniture in the master bedroom and I would come up after it was all there and tell them where it was to go. Their answer to me was that once the furniture was set down they would not move it again. If I cared where it was to be placed I needed to let them know then. So, I trudged upstairs, broken foot and all, and told them where to place the items. Then I would go back downstairs to tell them where to place the parlor furniture, great room furniture, piano and organ. Then it was back upstairs to have another piece of bedroom furniture placed. This is how the entire day went. By the end of it, I was barely able to walk and I was in severe excruciating leg pain. A week later when we went back to our old house we found that they had removed everything from our freezer and left it on the garage floor, and it was all spoiled. They never compensated us for that.
