Not at all happy with the move

They broke a lot of furniture, lot of lawn equipment. It was very disheartening. We always moved ourselves. We always packed ourselves. This time because we are older than our last move many years ago. We decided to go with moving company who will also taken some items up from my dad. We were moving in all together up in North Carolina and it was horrendous. It was very sad. They tore up walls and door frames in the house that we moved into. Trying to force things into. I think that is what happened in the truck as they were forcing things in the truck because we had lot of boxes that were smashed in on the top or the sides. That had broken items in it. Once that were not smashed. They were fine. They were all packed the same. They broke a riding mower, smashed it in couple of places. broke the front of it. My husband's compressor and band saw. Many pieces of furniture - solid wood furniture, we are not talking press board, smashed into pieces, legs broken right off tables, chairs split and dining room set. I could go on and on. Movers did an outstanding job, but I ...

The movers themselves did an outstanding job, I am speaking about the movers not the company just the movers. I really have no comments, I am just happy, the movers did their job exceptionally and they did a awesome job. Absolutely I am satisfied with only the movers. I am not going to provide any feedback, I will not use them again. But the movers did an outstanding job, I was very pleased with them, everything, nothing was broken, they did a professional job, I will definitely if get a chance to use the movers again I will definitely use the movers only. Bad Experience

This company provided the lowest estimate for my move. It was mostly on this basis that I chose them. However, I began to realize I may have made a mistake with this decision when I called them on the day of the scheduled move (Wednesday) and was told they could not make the pickup until Friday. After several days of the run arounds they finally arrived on Monday, but not until 9 PM. So they were five days late and I was past my original apartment move out date. Luckily, I was able to stay past the end of the month without penalty from property management. But this was not the end of the ordeal. At the pickup, they tried to charge me extra for taping moving blankets around my furniture items. Their advertising emails clearly state that blankets and tape are included in the price. This charge was dropped after I disputed it. Then, they claimed that I had to pay a 10% "fuel surcharge." I disputed this charge as well, since they had provided me with a binding estimate, which is a guaranteed price based on the quantities and services shown on the estimate. Since I had not requested any additional quantities or services, this was an invalid charge. However, they threatened to not perform the pickup if I did not agree to the charge and sign the Bill of Lading. I disputed this charge again at delivery, but they refused to relinquish possession of my property unless I paid the charge. Read more

Move Review

THe move was bad from start to fininsh. THey were over an hour late to start with, DIdin't break down the equipment and didn't put it where it was supposed to go even though they said they would. Wanted cash, wanted extra cash on the premises to bring items upstairs when there was an elevator, didn't have tools to take the equipment apart even though they knew they would have it. Called office and was yelled at for complaining. Didn't say there was extra charge for credit card, etc. Would NEVER recommend or use again. Read more

Everything was good except for the ...

The actual price was different from what they had quoted earlier. Other than that everything was fine. They were on time for pickup and delivery. They were nice, hardworking people. The only problem I had was with the office people. They gave me the price quote. They charged me about $1,200 extra. Read more

An average move but courteous services

I was working and didn't have time to go through various company profiles. My recent move was an average experience but I do have a word or two to say about their services. The movers were very friendly and respectful. They didn't bring the right size truck but later on, the issue was resolved. The movers adjusted to any last minute changes without complaining. I thought that using credit card would be a problem but we got it worked out. On the whole it was an average move and I had to pay more than what was quoted. Read more

Bad attitude and worse service

My move commenced with the lead guy throwing temper tantrums and complaining. It went on like this throughout the move and he even kept telling us that he would be adding additional charges. At the destination he even threatened me that unless I pay him he would not let me touch my things or unload them. Read more

Way more than estimated

The driver that showed up (a week earler than scheduled) insisted that we pay 1/2 the amount of the "adjusted" price. I never got any good info from Moving On Up, as to why it was so expensive. They did adjust the price down from $1830 to $1730 after lots of complaining, but they said that's the best they can do. They didn't even take the dining room table leaves. Read more

Reluctant movers!

I have had to move several times for my job and many of these moves have been across country and these guys are the worst ever.This move was only 6 miles away from my current home.The movers showed up and all they could do is say- is ALL this going? To me, I do not have that much stuff. I only had one bedroom of furniture,a living room, den-that's it.The guys, after they had some items on the truck, said they had to use more tape at a cost $3.50 a roll Believe you me, they used it liberally and wasted a lot.As I said, I have moved a lot,ten times in the last five years and I have never had such horrible service! They left, debris, trash and partially used rolls of tape in their wake and they walked off and left the mess for me to clean up after them at my old place. They moved so slowly and one guy, who seemed to be the leader, said several times how much he hated his job - and it showed!!! The only items I had them move were the large furniture.They were a total rip off! Every time I turned around they came up with a new charge for something. The worst was the move in. At a snails pace to ensure they could run the clock out for the "estimated" time. And they left an absolute mess in their wake. ALL of the cardboard, all the removed tape, their cups from the water and cola cans I had given them, all the huge wads of plastic they left behind for me to clean up after just as I had to clean up after them from the move out.They are far from professionals.DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!
