Stay away from these guys. They charged us 3 times on the quoted amount on the contract. The way they operate is by quoting you a low price to lock you initially. This is usually done by a dumb receptionist when you call them. On the actual day of moving, the movers will arrive - usually 3 guys - 1 supervisor and 2 more to lift the heavy weight. Supervisor will conduct a walk through and then the cheating kicks in. On seeing that you are completely packed and ready to move they will disclose the following hidden charges - actual packing material charges are 3 times of what is quoted on the phone - $170 along corridor charges - $150 stair charges - $200 driving the truck back to their own office charge - $75 On calling their office and talking to their owner John, we realized that nothing can be done as he was the master mind behind all the whole hidden charges and they very well know that since you are completely packed and ready to move, the odds of finding a new mover is next to none. Read the other reviews and you will figure out why everyone is complaining about the same bad experience. I am disappointed at myself for not reading the reviews before i signed them for moving to my first new home. The whole experience with the movers completely ruined the excitement of moving into my new home for me and my family. Complete rip off ! Read more

It was okay.

Yeah, they... Initially, they requested for four hours, but unfortunately it got a little bit timed up. But they completed in four hours, they did charge me for six hours. So, it was a bad experience that I had. Read more

Beware!!

The guys were great! My problem was the quite. I specifically told them exactly what I was moving. I would expect their estimate to be close to the actual price. Not an additional $300. They charge to wrap items according to their standards,which means they will wrap every piece you move and then charge you for it! They will then pack you in the truck and hold your furniture hostage until you cough up their new astronomical price. The only reason I went with them is because their quote was low. They obviously quote low and then recoup their money by over-charging for packing and wrapping! Why should you have to pay to use moving blankets??? If they cannot give you a guaranteed rate for your move,go elsewhere!! Read more

The fact that I was given an estimate, but it did not hold... the final bill was three times more than what I was given. That was my main concern. When they come in and start packing the material, they should tell me that it would cost me, so I can choose. I could've have made trips on my own to lessen the cost. Read more

Stay away from this company

Please stay away from this company. Horrible people with rude attitude. Only positive thing is after they messed up my moving date initially, they later on accommodated on the right date. But their office people are very rude and directly suggested I should look for another moving company if I didn't like them. Also, after getting a quote and after the moving guys came, I specifically asked them to let me know any extra costs apart from the quote. Did not say anything and billed me more than the quoted price. When I confronted the guy, he said he is just a messenger and talk to office people, who were by the way even worse. Moving's never fun. Honestly, who looks forward to prepping for it? Today's move was G R E A T. Northside made it super easy and a comfortable experience at that. These guys are the best movers my family and I have ever used. I'm a big fan of these guys

I'm a big fan of these guys. They handled my local Brooklyn move with professionalism and efficiency. All of my possessions made it safely from point A to point B. So who could ask for more? I also got the sense that they are really genuine and good people. The girl who scheduled my move on the phone was courteous and responsive, and the actual movers were communicative and friendly. Also they are seriously good value. It would have cost me only slightly less to rent a truck and have my friends help me, so the money paid for these movers was well worth the saved stress and aggravation. Read more

Great Experience Overall

I used Northside this past Wednesday to move into a 4 flight walk up. My apartment is a 1 bedroom with a full living room , dining room and kitchen area. So there was a lot of furniture. Not to mention, a lot of my furniture is antique and heavy. The crew worked really hard to wrap everything thoroughly. What do you know, no scratches and no damage to any of my furniture. Northside Moving was just amazing. I called them and got a quote in a 5 minutes conversation. They were friendly and extremely efficient. Everything was about timing with them. They did everything right

I used to relocate on my own. But it was always too hectic. Hiring moving companies didn’t seem to help much either. But my move with Northside Moving was a whole different story. The best thing about this company was their movers. The crew I got was just awesome. They packed up everything and loaded the van in just 3 hours. I've called and spoke to somebody a number of times and not one of them told me that each packing material and each step would be an additional charge until they were here already halfway moving my stuff. And then hit me with a $1200 bill. Read more

BEST EXPERIENCE EVER

I've had my share of moving companies in my lifetime and this by far has topped every single one I used, or even though of using. I had the best experience with this company from start to finish. From the first time the office called to give me an over the phone estimate till they moved us into our newly bought house. The office staff is just delightful.. When the men arrived the day of our move they were extremely professional, quick and courteous. They were basically in and out, they worked very hard, and got all of our things wrapped in no time. Horrible experience!

I called them on January 29 to move me. ... They gave me a window from 1 to 3 p.m. and they did not send anyone until 3 p.m. I repeatedly called them because in just two days time I had to vacate my apartment otherwise I would be fined. I had no other choice but to wait for them because I had to vacate on Sunday, otherwise I would be fined. Then they gave me an update that they couldn't come. ...Around 8 p.m. on Saturday they called me back and said they would send someone 9 a.m. on Sunday, so I agreed. They packed up things here and they gave me an estimate of about $237 but there was additional charges because it was a last minute move and such, so be it. ... They demanded I pay $590 or something. The crew came on time at 8:15 as promised Ralph and his crew began by loading all of our boxes. Amazing service for a very fair price

Was all set up and packed to move. Last minute issues with my buyers' closing caused a delay. Called Mark and explained the situation. He was extremely helpful and flexible. We ended up storing the furniture over night then doing a mid-afternoon unload after closing on my sale and purchase the next morning. Crew was efficient, courteous, professional and careful. Great service amazing crew couldn't ...

From start to finish the crew was amazing they came in on time did everything that was asked of them and more ....Salvador the foreman even asked if we need our other furniture moved from room to room which my husband improperly assembled. Lisa our sales person gave us a price and they really stuck to it. We read several negative reviews however the price that they gave us was literally half of what everybody else was asking how could we go wrong I would highly recommend northside moving to my family and friends. Worst experience of my entire life!

We agreed the cost was going to be $350 because I was moving within my same complex. ... They came started packing.. the deal was that I would pack everything and they would move only my furniture. ... They started to wrap sofas and furniture and everything. After they load everything, they said we'll give you the price as to how much it's going to cost you and it became $1,100. They said I had to pay in cash. It was Sunday. From the time I spoke with Janet down to the guys who secured and handled my furniture so delicately, they offered such professionalism! It was quick and the guys worked so diligently. I was always a pack it up yourself to save money type of girl, but after using North Side Moving, I would have no problem spending the money, at all. Great choice

Wow. I wish I could give them more stars. These guys are true professionals, including demonstrating extreme patience with my one million questions and frequent confusion. They were never rude, not once, and always spoke with courtesy and respect. Regarding the move itself, they were on time, wrapped everything carefully, agreed to wrap my paintings themselves, moved me from Hoboken to edge water unpacked some things at the house, then moved the rest of the stuff to a storage unit nearby. The storage place opened late so they had to wait maybe an hour for it to open. Did they ever complain? Nope, not once. They even took special extra care with my plant. A one day move and they did everything efficiently and quickly. I can't recommend them highly enough. Fantastic company. I will never move by myself again. Read more

I had an excellent experience with north side moving. The men that came moved my furniture very kind and courteous. They handled all our items with respect and we all had a good laugh at the end. I love the fact that they wrapped all furniture in plastic and removed legs when possible for ease of movability and transportation. The mover was professional but the ...

The guy who actually came was very professional, was very upfront ... The only problem I had with the moving company was the price that they quoted me and what the actual price was was very different. And when they quoted me the price they didn't give me all of the information. ...Like there was almost a $100 diesel truck rental ... Demanded payment or they would leave ...

First they gave us a very low estimate. On the phone they said lots of things would be covered... they said they would not charge extra for stairs ... and later on they did! They loaded our stuff, they got it to the new home and before unloading they gave us a huge bill! And they demanded that we pay it right at that time or they would go away with all our stuff! This has been my first time using Northside moving and I am more than satisfied with them. They came to my apartment on time and packed everything very fast. They brought all the necessary equipment and wrapped my furniture very carefully. On a moving day, they arrived to my apartment with two friendly workers and start moving all my stuff. They did not have any break. They worked really hard and moved my stuff in few hours. I am really more than satisfied with their service. They are a very professional team.
