Ive moved close to 10 times in my 17 years in Los Angeles so I have had my fair share of experiences with moving companies. I finally found Northstar,and this is my second time using them. The first time they did an excellent job packing my items with care. The second time,I had two drop off locations which they handled expertly. I believe they are on the slightly more expensive side for moving companies,but I think it is worth it if only for their professionalism,care,and responsiveness. I appreciated the pre-move consultation with Ron Cohen who worked with getting me a price I was happy with. The three movers that came on moving day were professional,kind and courteous. I felt safe with them handling my belongings,and nothing was damaged. I will continue to use them for future moves!

Our moving experience with Northstar was stellar!! Pedro called ahead and he, Jesus and Jose were right on time! They were friendly, courteous and so easy to work with. Do NOT use this company
I don't typically write online reviews, but I had such a dreadful experience with this moving company that I want to be sure that no one else has to suffer through a move with this company's incompetence. NOTE: Northstar Moving Transportation Co and NorthStar Moving Corp ARE THE SAME COMPANY - both with different addresses, former is in Chicago, IL and the latter is in Chatsworth, CA. This makes it next to impossible to track them down or to report them to the BBB. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Our moving experience was horrible. They were rude, unprofessional, and underhanded. I am immensely relieved that it's over, but it's hard to move past the nasty, cheated feeling and the extreme distaste that came from dealing with this wretched company.

They were misleading about the ...
Instead of the way they usually pack the mattresses ... They had rolled it ... I didn't like that kind of packing and it actually spoiled my bed. ...The delivery window that they gave me after calling them 100 times, they gave me a delivery window of four to eight ... They said, "Oh, he's stuck ... Some California inspection happened." ...I had a really bad experience with them, especially because they lied and they didn't keep their word. ...Very unprofessional, very bad service. I would never go with them again.

It was a pleasant experience, I had no complaints. I got a lot of different quotes but I went with the higher quote... you know, sometimes you get what you pay for. Everything was done, and it was good!
The picked it up from the storage unit. They packaged everything and then labelled everything. Then they brought it to my apartment in Connecticut and then they unloaded it. And everything was done and it was good!

It was okay. They were on time. It was fine, it was quick. It was okay, but they charged for every little thing. For packing it was okay, but for moving they shouldn't be charging us for the wrap and tape and I was charged for that.

Fantastic service
They were wonderful. They were absolutely wonderful. I have never had an item... I moved one thing. I never had anything packed so well. I would definitely would contact them if I could remember who they were. I think price was a lot. I purchased something on ebay and they went to the residence and packed it up for me. It was a seven foot artificial tree. So it was a little bit on the fragile side and they had to do the packing and everything for me. That almost doubled the price but they did a fantastic job. Yes and more so I received all the services. For future customers I would say to definitely use them and not have any reservations because they will totally follow through and take care of you. It was great communication. You can contact them too many times and they are always wonderful on the other end of the phone. Yeah customer service is wonderful and their work was wonderful. I don't have anything negative to say. I wish it had costed me a little bit less but in lieu of nature of items. However, most moving companies charge you minimum of a thousand pounds and I only had a 70 pound, 100 pound items. So they were way out there. They didn't charge me any more than the estimate. Their packing was phenomenal.

Unhappy about the move
We were little bit unhappy, no doubt about it because the price they quote and they charge items and everything and all. They didn't want to budge anything. They want cash up in front before even delivered and unloaded the truck. I told them don't worry I am going to pay you the cash the first time I paid. The second time when you deliver the merchandise and everything. You leave everything inside. Let's check it out whether it is broken or not eveything. Then I will pay you the cash. I am telling you right now. I said I am going to pay you cash but they didn't believe me. I had an argument with them. Otherwise they are going to walk away, take away merchandise. I said this is ridiculous. You guys are in business. We are not here not to pay you. I paid you cash upfront, half of the money before you pick up my goods. Believe me North star I was very unhappy. The guy who is in charge here even in Los Angeles area was nasty also. Nasty in the terms of you cannot do this you cannot do that. I told him what ever price you quote me - was of the 2200 pounds. If it is 2200 pounds that is the minimum we charge. I said listen if you charge me all the prices and everything. If it is under $2200 you have to give me the credit. I have no problem. If it is over 2200 pounds I will pay you extra money which I owe you - no doubt about it. Then they don't want to go because it was a minimum load and that they can make more money. That is the reason I stick to the guns. I had no choice because I wanted to deliver everything else. At the same time they broke one of my table leg and everything. They never gave me or called me back yet what needs to be done.

Service was of the highest quality
They are high quality. It was reasonable price. They quoted me pretty high but then it didn't take as long as I thought it was gonna take. So it ended up working out good. Yes I have received all the services that I have requested. Packing was excellent. The crew were cool. They were nice. Yes they were on time and friendly. I would let the future customers know that I highly recommend using them.

They did pretty well
For a last-minute job, they did a pretty good job. They were supposed to come on Sunday and they never made it. They came on Monday, a day late. The pricing was not that bad considering it was a last-minute deal. Towards the end of the move they became sloppy. They didn't check the drawer under the stove which had some pans. They didn't bother to pack the refrigerator and we had to lose some food. Other than that my move went well and they did a good job.

Highly disappointing service
When they delivered our stuff to us, most of it was not in the right shape. Some of our furniture got broken and scratched. The cartons carrying liquids were broken and spilled all over. The truck driver wanted to extract more money from us because there was a slight inclination. We had to escalate that to the moving company and they did charge me but all in all, I didn't have a very good experience.
