WHAT A STRESS FREE MOVE!! RECOMMEND ...

I was moving a full 4 bedroom house due to a new job opportunity in California. Getting bombarded with calls and emails was overwhelming. A quick search in Austin, TX showed One World Van Lines. My representative, Philip, offered an onsite visual which made everything so much easier. He took his time to walk me through of what to expect and what to do to save money on my end. I chose One World Van Lines based on my agents customer service, attention to detail, and me feel comfortable from day one. Once the movers showed up, they didnt wait or slack off, they got straight to work which finished up pretty quickly for a full house pack. Having expensive decor, collections, and antique furniture made me feel very uneasy at first, however, they were not only careful, they made sure everything was itemized and at the end, NOTHING was missing!! I also shipped my vehicle which needed an enclosed trailer since it was a brand new NSX. My agent got a great price and quick turn around on delivery! My wife and I needed to move from an apartment in Austin to another in the same city, and we also needed to store our furniture, etc., for a few months in between the moves. Our dealings with One World were handled professionally by their office staff. They kept us informed about the whole process. The 3 guys they sent at both ends of the move were cordial, helpful, and very easy to work with and to discuss how we should do things in terms of packing, etc. They worked quickly and constantly the whole time they were with us and seemed concerned about protecting our furniture, etc. The move cost more than I had originally anticipated, as you pay for their time to and from their storage facility, which was a significant distance. However, we were informed about that and the likely cost before the actual move. I don't know if anything was broken, as I am not in TX at the moment, and my wife has not had time to unpack much of anything. Worst experience ever.

I booked an appointment with them, I paid my deposit with them three weeks prior. Come the day they never showed up never gave me a call. I had the confirmation email and knew it was raining. They asked if they could reschedule so they came the next day and they had to wait, then they were going to charge me for the time they had to wait. It was the worst experience ever. Read more

I never heard of a company not being ...

It was a rainy day that we moved... the truck they used was leaking. So because it was leaking, they didn't want to move anything into the truck because it was getting more wet than it was already getting from transporting it from the apartment to the truck. We had to reschedule for the next day. The move took two days - I never heard of a truck company not being able to move because of rain. ...I was disappointed. The worst part was just how hateful ...

First of all I had requested that they come to the house to do a walk-through and they said no they don't need to do that, they wouldn't come do that. They knew that the day they came to pick up our stuff we were moving and needed our things the following day. I had to call every single day and I got angry with them because they disappeared with our stuff and didn't tell us where it was and when we were going to get it. Finally I got a hold of somebody who told me that I would have it in 7 to 10 days. Well we were in an empty house. We have three children, two in diapers. We ended up having to stay in a hotel which added more expense to it. We finally get movers in route, They lied to us about when they were going to be there. They were supposed to be there at 10 AM one day and they showed up at 9 pm two days later. It was just horrible. Then the customer service that I got when I called... she was awful. I mean, she argued with me, She told me I was lucky that I was getting my stuff at all. It was really bad. Then we had a chainsaw that was stolen from us. We had a bookcase that was totally demolished. A lot of the boxes were flipped upside down. They either threw things into the boxes or the boxes got flipped upside down somehow between the truck and being delivered into the house because the contents of the boxes were just a mess. Solid moving services

Man this process is as stressful as anything. So many calls and potential companys that want your business. I started with 3 and ended up getting 7 by default. The calls just keep coming and everybody sounds good, but online reviews tell a different story. I finally settled with One World Van Lines. They were in the middle of the road regarding pricing, but they just seemed to disclose more information to me than the others. Question after question I realized this moving process is more difficult that expected. After creating a inventory list, Geoff recommended that we set up a visual estimate service to guarantee the price. They were on time thorough and professional, the price did change a little, but due to some last minute packing request. All in all the experience was good. Its just moving is tough, no matter what.
