Packrats Movers

Absolutely terrible

I had an absolutely nightmare experience with these movers. The movers took long breaks,working for less than 50% of the time,then bullied me into paying them extra because they knew I had no other help and the truck had to be returned before I could hire another team. They trashed the truck,literally putting garbage bags inside that left the truck so soiled I had to pay a fee. The broke a ceiling light,a door,and damaged several walls of the apartment. They broke at least $1000 of my furniture,dishes,and other items. The items that had to be thrown away include- an end table,two bookcases,an electric fireplace,a baby gate,and more. They threw boxes down the stairs,dropped furniture repeatedly,and packed the truck poorly,so the load fell over in transit. They seemed to be high or inebriated in some way. I felt threatened and was forced to pay extra time AND tip in order to be safe as a single woman. They were 2 hours late arriving and my truck went over the window by 3 hours because they spent the majority of their time taking breaks. The whole thing was a nightmare. The manager was not at all helpful and forced me to pay for 9 hours despite the total actual work being less than 5 hours. Several valuable items mysteriously went missing during the move. The movers kept leaving the moving truck and spending extended periods in their personal vehicle. I’ve hired movers about 8 times in my life and have never experienced anything like this.
