Beware,Nortwest moving services is not ...

Beware, this is not a moving company. They own no moving Van's nor employ professional moving men. This is only a website. They will charge you professional packing and moving rates and collect half upfront. They will then sub it out the cheapest local company they can find who in my case was roadrunner. Roadrunner then subbed it out again to day laborers. They destroyed my expensive furniture and artwork and stole my family silver. I had my own insurance so I didn't see a need to increase coverage in the contract. That's when I thought I was hiring a professional moving company. I could gave saved $ 5000 and done that myself. I was only moving a one bedroom apt on Washington ave less than two miles to Lafayette square. I wish I could give them, zero stars. I've filed a police report and provided indisputable evidence that the silver was in my home and stolen by the crew they allowed in my home. They should be grateful that my insurance company is shouldering the bulk of the cost to repair the damages. They had a man call me who said he was a lawyer and was advocating on my behalf. DONT FALL FOR THAT! Then the sales men who sold me the $5050 called me. His name is Dean,he said he wanted to help me recoup some of my out of pocket expenses. All I've asked for is $20,000 for my stolen silver,$ 500 to compensate me for the damage the unskilled workers did to the building and $1500 to cover my insurance deductible (total $22,000). He claimed to be the owner's son and wanted to make things right. He said I could collect atleast double what I was asking. All I want is to be made whole. He said we would have to collect it from roadrunner and he knew a man named Paul Hawthorne at the department of transportation who would help us do that. But he just strung me along, just like the fake lawyer/advocate. They dont seem to understand the difference between theft and loss and want to hide behind the .60# clause in the contract. That wouldn't even fly had they actually sent professional bonded movers, which is what I paid for. Go direct to the source, call Mayflower or Bekins. This is just a front for a moving company and I've only just begun to take them down. I just retired and have plenty of time. Good luck,Michael J. Wright Read more
