Disaster move

I had heard good things about this mover so reached out. I told him I had a complicated move because it was to a third floor walk up and I was moving a piano. I described everything else in the move as well all of which was currently in a 10x15 storage unit. The guy said he needed to get a truck and would get back to me. I never heard back and so reached out again. He said he was still working on a truck. This went on for a month until he finally said he had a truck. His quote was huge - $2700 - especially since it was not a ton of stuff, but given the piano and how important that was to me, I agreed. However, when we got to the apartment, he suddenly said he didn’t have the equipment to move the piano up. We had to leave it in my lobby and I got in huge trouble with the building, and had to pay a piano mover $700 to move it. Despite this, he was unwilling to give me a discount reflective of this.
