I called to inquire about the rate advertised for 2 men and a truck. The woman on the phone was very unprofessional and down right rude. She disregarded my question and proceeded to give me a different rate. I could tell by the conversation and lack of customer service that the experience would not be good. How anyone can conduct business this way is beyond understanding. The reviews that give warning are definitely duly noted. Read more

The reviews don’t lie!!

Listen to the reviews! I used them back in 2020 and they were quick and efficient. This time they had 4 guys and only used 1 one of them for all the boxes so he was taking his precious time. He walked in and told us we better leave a big tip immediately. He complained the entire time and we ended up having to help move stuff ourselves! It still took forever. We ended up tipping 17% and they complained so we took out another a hundred and tipped 32% and they still complained. Stay away!! These guys are AWFUL. Read more

I booked these guys back in 2020 and it was cheap and efficient but booked them recently for a move and they were AWFUL. They came in and immediately said we have to leave them a big tip. They complained the entire time and we had to personally help them move stuff. They also had 4 movers but only used 1 for all the boxes and took their sweet time. I ended up tipping 17% and they complained so we have them a extra 100 and it was 32% tip and they still complained. Stay away from these awful movers! Read more

Nickel and Diming, Not Grateful for Tip

My wife and I used these guys two years ago when moving from one apartment into another in Manhattan and it was $80/hr. That time they were 2 hours late to the scheduled move time and milked the clock to keep the hours rolling. I was getting furious and had to start moving boxes on my own to their truck to speed up the pace. when it came time for payment I tipped them $25 each and the guy had the nerve to ask for more tip. I told him he was 2 hours late and I helped move boxes so you're lucky you're getting anything. Fast forward to years to this past weekend and we decided to hire them again (should have priced out other movers) and their rate went up to $110/hr. knowing the times we are in I wasn't too worried about the cost, but was hoping they'd be a little faster. We moved from Upper East Side to Long Island and the call time was for 9am. The boss showed up at 9:10am to survey the apartment and the guys didnt start moving boxes until about 9:25am. They nickel and dimed me on everyhting from wrapping the couch for $40, my headboard for $25 ( i just wrapped garbage bags around it), $3 per roll of tape, $40 for gas and 1 hour of drive time to get to our apartment then home ( which is understandable). They milked the clock so bad again that they were bringing 1 or two boxes at a time down so i had to say something. The rain was horrendous and wouldn't be fun for anyone to move in those conditions, but they could have moved faster. The drive to LI was about 1.5 hours with 30 mins of it just sitting in traffic so there was another $165 down the drain. They moved into the house pretty quickly as they probably wanted their day to be done since it was reaching 5pm. Total came to $1,019. I was feeling generous and gave the boss $150 in tip money ($50 per guy) and he again had the nerve to say they expected more. I said i just spent $1k with you and gave you a %15 tip and he said it's not enough and "i don't respect their work". Go find another job if you're expecting more tip money. I told him to get the hell out of my house. I will not be using these guys again and advise no one uses them as it seems that many others have had similar experiences. Read more

Horrible experience

The worst experience.please do not arrange your moving with these guys.as soon as they arrived they asked for extra 60bucks for moving material (more precisely "special moving tape" and a plastic wrap for the mattress) which the manager never mentioned before (although we called 3times to confirm the total price). If I knew I could have easily bought it myself for a lot cheaper. When I called him to complain he was extremely rude and hung the phone on me saying "who are you to argue with me?".also they asked me to stay downstairs with the truck,which I find a bit uncomfortable since I would like to be there while they handle my stuff. Slow and greedy

I’ve used this company for 5 times in 6 years. They were budget friendly, fast and I never paid more than 2 hours. The fifth time I met Dansen and his two men. Dansen took every chance to slowdown the move to earn more money. He charged me for wrapping and tapes $50. 30 minutes extra time for traveling back from NJ to Brooklyn, $42 toll charge, and 5 hours of service including traveling time from my old apartment to a new one. He talked about the fee that I already knew for 20 minutes and he insisted to go see my new apartment before unloading and forced me to pay first for another 20 minutes. They waited for each other and didn’t work individually and that wasted a lot of time. The 2.5 hours work became 5 hours because they intentionally moved very slow and used any chance to waste my time. The company didn’t take any responsibility for their own people. Super efficient!

Three guys with a truck for $80,2 hours minimum. Had all the necessary equipment (boxes,multiple dollies) and all my stuff was out of my place within 15 mins and in to another within another. Also helped me move out a bunch of stuff at the new place. They moved really quietly too and was super efficient with everything. Highly recommend and the price is a bargain. Read more

Decent movers, awful service and ...

Great moving company

My daughter and I were a wreck leading up to her move. I must have called 7 Stars at least a dozen times with questions and was always treated with respect and kindness by Irene the receptionist. She was a God send. The day of the was a nightmare as my daughter did not have enough boxes and hadn't finished the packing when the movers arrived. I called Irene once again to see what could be done. She said not to worry, that all would be taken care of. She called Edgar the lead who drove somewhere and obtained more boxes. The movers also helped her complete her packing so the move could all be done that day. They were wonderful! It was their 3rd move of the day but they worked as if it was their 1st. Edgar also helped my daughter wrap up a chair in plastic to be moved to the curb. All this for $80 an hr. 3 men and a large truck plus a little more for the extras, which was very reasonable.. They also wrapped up 2 large glass mirrors that got to my new place in one piece. Very happy with the service recieved, and would highly recommend. Read more

They lost an important furniture in ...

I moved on Tuesday. I signed a contract for it and they didn't leave me a copy at the end. They have me seat on the wheel since they double parked so i couldn't check on my stuff. At the end of the move an important furniture was missing in my apt so probably they left it on the street since wasn't in the truck or in my old apt. When i called to ask for explanation they called me a liar and put down the phone. Read more

Unexpected...

When we received the quote of 375 for our move I thought it was a little low, so we pulled out $500 in cash just in case. 75 an hour for 3 guys, 2 hours travel time and 3 hours packing time. It was only a 1 bedroom apartment and we were leaving a couch and table behind, so minimal furniture was being moved (1bed, 2 desks, 2 cabinets, 1 book case and 1 coffee table). The coffee table was glass (beveled edge that sat on a 5 pound metal frame) so that taking extra time was understandable, though it only ended up being wrapped in a blanket. There was a shelf lamp that that taped standing up in a box and wrapped a blanket around as well. Sergei let us know there was going to be a small extra charge for their supplies which ended up only being 20 bucks, that's understandable. I also told him we still had a bunch of packing tape which they helped themselves to, and we were leaving anything unpacked here to come back for later. When an hour had passed and only 2 pieces of furniture had been removed from the old apartment I had my husband come home early from work to help (minimally, he's still mildly disabled from a bad leg injury). It was already at the completion time for the move when the truck left the old place to bring everything over... At 4:20pm Sergei gave us the bill, told us it was 695 (guess it was easier for them to round up the extra half hour). We looked at each other and had to borrow cash from Mom in law to cover, and the tip as well. This was what really bugged us to write the review. We gave $20 for each, Mom in law wanted to give Sergei an extra $20, then Sergei actually asked for more for the other two. We know what appropriate tipping is, and asking for more on top of that left us feeling more than salty. Also had to go back out to Sergei to get out receipt. We had used this company before for Mom in law from Glendale Queens to Elmont and she had been charged around a grand -- which made sense to us, since she had a lot of furniture and a lot more to be packed in general (she filled the truck and had to have a second trip the next day for another $300). Another comparison to another moving company -- same rate and movers, more furniture and longer drive (East Northport to Farmingville) and the company was also based in the boroughs (don't remember if it was Queens or Brooklyn) quoted $300, charged us $550. This was why we expected our quote to not be that far off. We'll likely be renting our own truck and doing our own moves in the future. Read more

Made my move so easy!

I found a card for 7 Stars Moving stuck in the door of my apartment building. The rates seemed good, so I called them and set up an appointment. They moved all my stuff in just under an hour (admittedly I don't have that much stuff, but still!). Efficient, polite, and made my move so easy! (I moved from an apartment on the Upper West Side to one in Harlem.) They don't offer packing services, and there is a two hour minimum, plus an agency fee. Still a good price though, and they did such a great job. Also make sure you have enough cash on hand, as they only accept cash. Read more

So Grateful to 7 Stars!

I was a wreck leading up to my move, especially upon getting quotes from moving companies starting at $750 to move less than 20 blocks. I had just decided to rent a U-Haul and figure it out myself when I found 7 Stars’ business card wedged in the front door of my building. It claimed that they would give you 3 guys and a truck for $75 an hour. Although I was positive it had to be a scam (there must be a million hidden fees, they don’t have insurance, the truck is actually a Camry...), I thought I’d call and see. I spoke to the most lovely receptionist who explained to me that yes, it was true: they would send 3 guys and a 20 ft truck for $75/hour with a minimum of 2 hours, any extra time billed by the half hour, to be paid in cash on delivery. I made an appointment for that very weekend. I was nervous the morning of the move, but the guys arrived early. We went through some quick paperwork and then they got started! The only fee we didn’t anticipate was they needed to wrap the mattresses in plastic to move them, which they charged us $20 per mattress/box spring. If you are expecting blankets or any other moving supplies, they do not provide them. Golgom and his team were incredible. They were super professional, polite, and fast! They moved our entire 2 bedroom apartment from one 3rd floor walk-up to another in 3.5 hours. We actually ended up paying less than what was originally quoted because they finished earlier than they thought. We were very happy with the service we received and were treated wonderfully by everyone we worked with. Well it was the best choice I made because these are the most efficient movers. I have used many movers in the last few years and these guys by far did it the best and most affordable. $75/hour-3 men, 1 truck (cash only). They had my one bedroom in the truck withinin 1.5 hours and at the storage place quickly. Well the storage facility was a nightmare and did not have my reservation correct. I was on the phone about to take my things to another storage facility when these guys talked me into keeping it simple. Moving can be stressful enough and 7 star helped me out and said they would be able to make the situation work. They were ready to got and got everything in quickly and efficiently. No fuss, no questions, they were able to think on their feet and figure everything out. This is the kind of service most companies won't offer. I will absolutely use these movers again in the future.
