It was good

It was good, so everything went within the scheduled time. OK they came like 2 hours late because they had another delivery in the morning (that's what they said) because they arrived a bit late, unexpected. Once they came, everything went fine, they did the job within the scheduled time. There were some cups that were damaged but other than that everything was fine. Some of the other companies had similar pricing, but they didn't provide any guarantee on the date, so that's why I chose SVJ. Read more

It was a mess.

It wasn't that good. They picked up the stuff. They told me the afternoon but they showed up after 5. Once they got there they moved the stuff out pretty quickly. He told me that it wasn't in the job description to take the doors off, but I told the lady that they need to in order to get the couch out because that's how they got it in. He had an issue doing that. Once they moved to the other house they just put it in the basement and left it there. We had to call them to come back to move the stuff upstairs and they still left stuff down there. They also left the refrigerator door off. My husband had to call them to put it back on. They did the move fast but they will ...

There are a bunch of things. First of all, they were late. They covered that time by moving fast. They did the whole move in probably an hour and a half. So that's good. But the one thing I wasn't happy about is that I was supposed to get a refund from them because they charged me for three and a half hours. She told me that if it takes less than three hours, they will refund me an additional 30 minutes extra that they charged me. The guy that billed me anyway. She said they already refunded it and it should be there. I don't know what she was looking at but I never got my refund back. To be honest, I feel like she was a little rude as well. Maybe because she was already done. It was different when I was calling for a quote. The same woman was rude to me about the refund... I was not completely satisfied with the service. Read more

Not happy with them at all!

I was not happy with them at all. They damaged some furniture they didn't acknowledge it and said that it was already like that. I found a piece of the furniture that fell of on the floor in my new place, I can prove it's their fault. I've called and they still haven't offered any type of adjustment for the damaged furniture, so I'm not satisfied with them at all. Read more

The movers were rude and ...

I was supposed to have eight guys, they only sent seven. As tiring a day as moving is, there was a lot of standing around. A lot of inefficiency. The foreman, Michael, was overall kind to me but two of the men started badmouthing me to my face in front of the others and it created a very unprofessional, very uncomfortable scene. ...The following are comments that were said to me and about me within earshot ... "Where's her husband? Why isn't he here directing and sh*t." ...They didn't like the fact that I was making suggestions about my stuff. ...They told me basically to mind my own business. ...I complimented [a mover] on moving a really difficult, heavy piece of furniture. I casually used the term, "good boy." He mocked me to my face. ...As though it were some sort of slur and he carries on for the next five minutes about me calling him a good boy. ...And then at the end of the day as they were leaving they went to my husband and said, "Your wife says you have cash for tip." Very bad move

SVJ showed up 2 hours late, with a truck that was half the size needed. The quote was for three, however they had an extra person, neither of them were particularly good at moving or packing the truck. They had to repack the truck twice. They missed a lot of my stuff which I had to pay to have moved by another company and they destroyed a $4000 TV and Valerie only wanted to reimburse me $60 for it. Not to mention, the owner was very nasty to me and insulting. I now have to take them to court to get my TV replaced. Horrible experience. I would stay away. Read more

There was no damage, they came on time ...

Worst Experience Ever

Steve came out to our home to access what needed to be moved from Bala Cynwyd, PA to Frederica, DE. He assured us a competent crew would be sent with 10 men and 4 trucks. Included in that was to be a "furniture expert" who would carefully dismantle and reassemble furniture. Moving blankets would be used to protect the furniture, etc. Also advised they were fully insured. 11 men arrived with the one individual telling us we owed another $160 for the extra man. Then we were told we needed to purchase additional insurance. The crew sent was sub-par, at best. Some smelled of alcohol at 9:00am. There was a great deal of turmoil amongst the crew with them openly arguing frequently and often. One of the men actually shoved the only person who was working to the ground. The "furniture expert" was never sent and we had to dismantle the furniture ourselves with borrowed tools from the neighbor. No moving blankets were on the trucks. Walls were damaged and we had to repair them that evening, as settlement was the next day. When they arrived to the newly built house, they put a hole in the wall, destroyed a door, stained the carpeting and left cigarette butts in the driveway. Packages marked fragile were destroyed. All the while, multiple calls were placed to Steve and he still has not contacted us. Read more

They did OK work. They were quick. After moving we found some damages on the furniture. We have to repair it. But the damage is not that great so...its OK. Basically, they did quick work, estimates were accurate. They were good with everything else besides the damages. Read more
