Horrible experience with alot of ...

We were given a quote to move a 1 bedroom assisted living apartment. The movers were to pack my mothers belongings. They arrived without the proper packing materials, werent aware that we had paid for the packing and had loaded another load on the truck ahead of ours, so were only prepared to spend 1/2 day with us. After a nightmare of shoving things into boxes, we were told that oops we had taken up much more of the truck than estimated. Fortunately my son was present and happens to run a multi-regional crating and shipping company, climbed onto the truck and measured and showed the movers their error. They did not accept this and wouldnt budge with the additional money. We were stuck! I paid the money to get the things to Atlanta and started calling the "lady in charge" Communication was a problem with the movers. She and I argued and did not come to a resolution. After our things were delivered, this "lady in charge" called back several hours later and offered to refund $500.00. I took the money and partially blamed myself for not investigating this company throughly. Several lamps, sculptures etc. were completely broken , as in shattered glass base, and alabaster broken into pieces. I filed a claim with their carrier CSI PROS and havae now been informed that they cannot make a settlement on the damages because Allstate Movers will not give them the authorization to proceed. Horrible

Told would be delivered on 11/17. Then 11/20 or 11/21. Then 11/23 or 11/25. It is 11/27 and still not here. CS is a joke. No one returns calls. 81 yr old mother with high blood pressure, heart pacemaker/defibrillator, and constant oxygen now sleeping on floor almost 2 weeks because we ran out of money on hotel rooms. I start new job tomorrow. Had to purchase new clothes and shoes. The issue I was told on the 21st was that the documents the loader turned in said first day to deliver was 18th. That was a lie. I said 15th. He told me we had to give driver 7 days. So I agreed. Was told by sales person we have to give them 10 days by law. They didn't clean up after themselves. I was told my receipt and Bill of Laden would be emailed to me. Still haven't received that either. I hope they enjoyed a nice Thanksgiving dinner with their family because all I could afford to feed my mother was a damned sandwich. Read more
