Cash only on the weekends? Really?!!

I called this company because they were the first one that came up in Google maps. They seemed professional and helpful and followed up on the date. The reason for using movers was because I had to take a an out-of-town trip during the day that the truck was going to arrive and I wanted to make sure that my wife and children were taken care of in terms of the move. I gave them my credit card information when I reserved the move. We estimated they would use three hours so they charged in advance on my credit card for one hour of travel and three hours of help at $95/hr. The moving company came and unloaded the truck as promised. The move took approximately five hours and upon completion they asked my wife for cash to compensate for the additional two hours of labor. She offered credit card or check because she did not have cash. They insisted that cash was the only type of payment they could take and offered to follow her to the bank. She had small children in the home and this made her very uncomfortable. She called me out of town and I contacted the owner to try to attempt payment from another method but he absolutely refused to accept credit card saying that he was unable to run a credit card on the weekend. He refused to bill me later or run the credit card first thing Monday morning. He also refused a cashiers check or a personal check stating that their policy was CASH ONLY ON THE WEEKEND - NO EXCEPTIONS. I explained to him that my wife felt uncomfortable having the workers follow her to the bank and that she did not want to leave the kids unattended. The owner absolutely insisted that we pay him right then in cash and furthermore told us that the longer the delay,the more we would have to pay because the work team would need to be compensated for the extra time they spent waiting to be paid. It was clear that the workers were not going to leave until they had cash money in hand! The owner stated that it is his policy to only accept cash on the weekends and that this has been his practice for the 13 years he has been in business and that they are always clear with the customers that this is the case. But this was not clear to me or my wife and If I had known this policy at the time of booking I would have booked with a different company. Ultimately we were able to get someone we trusted to stay with my children while my wife drove to the bank,got cash,and paid the workers. In the end,the workers did a fine job and the price was fair but what is most important to me and what disappoints me the most about this company was that they did not take care of my family and put my wife in a difficult situation. They may have told her at some point that only cash dollar bills could be used to pay remaining balances on a Saturday but this was not understood by her at the time probably because it is so unusual for a legitimate company to demand cash only for payment during weekends or at any other time.

It was really nice. It was completely professional. They did a good job. The price was reasonable. I would definitely recommend [them].

Slow

This was our second time around using this company since first was so great. The second time was ok. They were punctual and very nice but very slow. When I tried to reach out to GM Jim to explain my concerns about this - he did not take time to listen and ask how it could be resolved. He was extremely rude, very defensive and even kept telling me how "pathetic" I was. Is that being professional? Because of how he handled himself and the situation, I will not ever use this company again.

For a move it was pretty much perfect.

The experience was very good. The movers were very conscientious and courteous and finished the job on time, showed up when they were supposed to and there was no damage ... It was pretty much a perfect experience as far as moving goes.

I've already used their services again.

Great people, great service ... very professional, very kind ... with a lot of our stuff they treated it as if it was their own. So some of the other companies, you know, they were more into getting your sales and not caring about the people, but [this company] I would highly recommend them.

Did a great job!

It went smooth. It took a little longer than what the had quoted but everything turned out fine. I only had one box that had broken items in it, other than that, no dings or scratches they did a great job!

This company was amazing, they were ...

Amazing. They were awesome. They moved a huge four bedroom house plus a cabana house, all kinds of lawn furniture, gas grills, everything. They moved it all. They got there at 6:30 and we were done at 2:00 in the afternoon. And that's completely set up in another huge house. So they did an amazing job, very organized, very professional. They took no breaks, they worked straight through. They even repaired furniture that was broken in the first move that I didn't use them for.

I had nothing but problems with this ...

My moving experience was very long and very tedious. There were heated arguments between a parent and myself and the individual and the parent companies because I felt that they could have done a better job in the planning process but they made it appear as if it was me, it was my fault that I wasn't being honest with them. Because I didn't disclose that we had that much furniture. As I explained to him, the original estimate was for a 28 foot truck and they sent me a 24 foot truck. They guys themselves were fine but they totally underestimated the size of the move and obviously I was the bad guy. Put it this way, I wasn't very pleased with that but it is what is it.

They were very good, very professional and took very good care of my furniture. Very pleasant, courteous, they were very good. I have moved multiple times in my life and this was one of the best

The service was good for the most ...

They called and asked if they could come early, which was fine with me. There were three guys on the truck, two of them were just absolutely super. One of them was not very well trained but when the moving company called I did explain it to her and she thanked me and said they would take care of it. It was a new employee. Overall though they're a great company.

They were very good

I thought they were very good. They came on the 20th Monday to pack for us and they were very prompt they were right on the dot, Tuesday they came and they moved us we didn't move that far away it was only about less than a quarter of a mile they moved us they brought everything the next day they came back and unpacked - i thought they were very good.

Understanding crew great service

They were on top of it. I got a couple of calls that they were coming and the guys were great, very pleasant, very understanding. I wasn't quite ready yet, but they were very understanding and very helpful. I was very surprised by their great pricing and I definitely would like to recommend them. I received all of the services that I requested.

Liked the way they handled everything

It was great and I think next time we don't have to look further. They were good, just as we expected. They were very efficient and I liked the way everything was handled. They packed everything and it was really quick. They were three men and all of them were working very quickly to the best of their efficiency. I think their pricing was okay, it's just that we were told that it would be finished in three hours but it took more than three hours. It took about four hours - that is where my budget was a little shaken up, because of the extra cost that I had to give. When it comes to the per-hour thing - it was alright. The cost was okay. Everything was done very nicely and the crew was good - I had no issues with anything. I would definitely recommend them if there is anybody who is moving.

Professional service at reasonable ...

It was great. They have reasonable rates and they are professional. I did receive all the services that I requested. I packed myself so they took out the packing costs from the rate. The crew members' behavior was great. They were on-time and friendly. They were careful with us, they were careful with the delicate stuff that we had to move. I would recommend them.

They did a splendid job

Very pleased with my service. I would recommend my movers highly. I liked the fact that they were on time, efficient and broke nothing. The price was very reasonable. I certainly did receive all the services that I requested. Packing was excellent. It was very good. For the future customers I can just say that they are splendid and I would choose them again next time I move. The crew was very good. On-time and professional.

True to their name

It was awesome. It was great. I liked the fact that they were real personable, they were real conscience about personal items and making sure things were not broken and moved appropriately. I have a piano and that is really important thing to me more than some of the furniture. They spent quite a bit of time reflecting where things went. We had labeled boxes with specific colors and labels. Even if we were storing something in the garage, all those labels were together. So we worked out real well. They spent quite a bit of time making sure we were organized and things were placed where they needed to go. It was a great experience. I never had a moving experience like that before. Yes absolutely the prices were reasonable. We had like minimum three hour charge and than we knew what the hourly charge was after that. I had expected to pay certain amount and I paid that amount. Yes absolutely, they wrapped the furniture, they wrapped the piano, they organized and brought more people. As a matter of fact they showed up a few extra, make sure the piano was moved okay and all of that. That all and plus. These guys were top notch. In terms of customer service you could tell they were not a fly by night company. They were like I said real personal, real intelligent, very strategic about how they pack things like putting a puzzle pieces together. They pack the truck nothing would fall or break. Everything was tied down. They spent time with me going through the rooms and saying here is the stuff that goes into this room. If they weren't sure they asked me where to put it and even if they had put the furniture correctly. Did they want me to move it. It wasn't like we are gonna move you and we are gonna leave. They spent time with me until I was satisfied with where things were. They were awesome. They were really great. I would use them again.

Good service

My experience was great, because they were really good. They were early, only the thing which only the estimate they had given is an hour difference but aside from that everything else was perfect. I would recommend them. We only have only large items so that it was really pretty good, we did. No the pricing was good, they were really good.

Polite and professional service

It was a wonderful moving experience. The movers were polite and respectful. They called half an hour before and from the moment they got here went straight to work and hardly took any breaks. They were moving my 87-year-old father-in-law. They were protective of where he was and about the boxes that contained his memories. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

Always Professional

I am so glad that I looked into Movers.com. I was planning on using a company that gave us a coupon in the mail. Movers.com gave us multiple options that I got into a bidding war about my move. We ended up with the best possible options of the size of the truck, the number of movers, supplies provided, and price. We were very happy with our move and when our new house is finished we will use them again.

Use with Caution

Pros: Loaded truck quickly. Nice guys. Cons: Do not use pads between wood furniture so they rub against each other the entire trip. Make you sign away all liability for their neglect in not using the provided pads.
