Worst moving experience ever

I chose Atlantic Union Van Lines because of their good reviews. In the end, they were the worst moving experience I have ever had, and I am not new to this. I have lived in 8 cities in three countries. The person I first talked to (Richard) was very helpful and prompt to respond to me, and gave a reasonable quote. He told me it would take 7-10 business days for things to arrive. I made it clear to him that I would not be there in person (I was already in CA) but had arranged for the company holding my items to sign the paperwork, etc. etc. and he assured me that it would be no problem. There is no space to give details of everything that went wrong. This company is impossible to get in touch with after you have paid them. Richard never again spoke to me despite my emailing

Truly dependable

I wasn’t counting on much given how dubiously Atlantic union van lines quoted for my move. Fortunately, they weren’t inefficient at all. The movers arrived right on time on the moving day. They were very experienced. Atlantic union van lines offered me four movers for the same price other companies would send only 3. Having four movers meant the packing was done a lot quicker and the whole process were completed very fast. They packed everything so well that none of my things suffered any damages on the way. They maintained their schedules perfectly. This company is totally reliable.

Extraordinary movers

I hired Atlantic union van lines after a recommendation I got from a dear friend of mine. They turned out to be just amazing. They took such great care of all my belongings. The movers had amazing coordination among themselves. They maintained their time schedule very efficiently. The movers were all very strong and experienced. All my valuables were moved without any damages. They did such a good job while not charging too high. I was just blown away by these guys.

We are happy

They were so amazing that even my wife agreed that this relocation was just too easy. They arrived on time and wasted no time while working. They worked like machines packing everything and then loading them on to the van. The space in the van was properly utilized. The delivery was made on the scheduled day with all our belongings intact. I wasn’t expecting such efficiency from these guys. We are so happy with the way these guys handled our entire move.

Moved without worries

I have seen movers deliberately working slowly to increase their work hours. There is really nothing I could do about it. But the movers from Atlantic union van lines were really swift. They are usually booked throughout the day and they can’t afford to be delay anything. This is the reason why you should hire Atlantic union van lines. They give you the fastest move which essentially means that you save a lot of money. My belongings were very carefully loaded and delivered on time in great condition. The price was more than fair and I had to pay no extras. I'm so happy that I hired them.

I have never seen such efficiency

The movers from Atlantic union van lines were supposed to arrive at 2 pm to move our belongings. But they called at 1 and asked if they could come early. I have had movers arriving 4 hours late. So this was totally shocking to me. Anyway, the movers came and started packing everything immediately. They took inventory of all my belongings and put labels on each box. The breakables were delicately packed into boxes and they used a lot of tapes to secure them. They carried all the furniture with care. My bed was very old and received extra attention from the movers. They delivered everything the next day and put everything exactly where they were supposed to go. It was an incredibly easy move. I cannot praise these guys enough.

Only moving company I would ever hire

I have had it with the so called professional moving companies. They are just bunch of cheaters. The only company who does what it says was Atlantic union van lines. No, they didn’t have any fancy adverts nor did they make me any fake promises. What they delivered was good old moving services. Their men arrived right on time to move my belongings. They were so fast and creative when it came to packing. Everything was organized and systematic. These movers are just machines. They had no issues carrying everything down 2 flights of stairs. They weren’t even tired! Unlike other moving companies, they didn’t even charge me extra for packing materials or anything like that. The final bill was in fact less than the initial estimate. I would never hire another moving company.

Hard and expensive lessons learned ...

Where to begin? The move from hell. The people who came to pick up came 24 hours later than they originally said so I lost a whole day of work waiting for them. Then they “negotiated” for how much I was supposed to tip them. AND after our furniture was loaded onto the truck the full bill turned out to be 2 times as much as the original estimate. And that was the GOOD part of the experience!! On the drop off end of the move, the driver showed up in the truck with no helpers. So guess who ended up actually moving our stuff into our apartment? ME and the driver – until 10PM at night (since he didn’t show up until 6PM). And I’m PAYING for this?? But the saddest thing was the amount of our belongs that were totally destroyed. I’ve moved across country before and expect some amount of damage. But the ferocity of this damage was intense. Two inch thick solid wood (NOT particle board) just SNAPPED in half! The leg of an office chair ripped off in the middle! A one inch thick wooden chest ripped in two! The metal frame of our bicycle twisted 360 degrees!! It took real effort to destroy these belongings. I think somebody was using them for demolition practice! I would post photos if this review web site allowed it. You would truly be amazed and wonder “how did they do THAT?”. And of course that was only for the belongings that actually showed up! We had one box that never made it to our end destination at all! For what it cost and the destruction of what was moved, we would have been better off giving away all of our stuff and just buying new at our new location. Lessons learned, lessons learned …. Move it yourself or don’t move it!!

Unbelievably reliable

But their movers work efficiently to save your hard earned cash. On top of that, they take inventory at the beginning of the move and make sure that each item arrives at the final destination. I’m not even bothering to mention how skilled and capable the movers were. I was just relieved to have received everything in great condition.

But their efficiency levels are absolutely unmatched. The movers worked tirelessly packing all of the things I own while moving them. They delivered on time and there wasn’t one item that suffered any kind of damages. The bill was very close to the estimate which was extremely reasonable. I am only hiring them from now on.

They made my day

I am highly impressed with the overall outcome of using Atlantic union van lines. Their sales rep was very responsive to all my questions, explained the entire moving process, changed the moving date twice as we requested and never asked for additional payments. The foreman with his 3 helpers showed up on time for the packing, impressed us with their great packing skills and finally ensured the safest transition possible. All our valuables made it perfectly to the other end before the scheduled time. I guess there was nothing left to ask for.

I would hire them again

I have seen how moving companies who used to be really efficient and inexpensive in the past have now turned into ripping machines. Luckily, companies like Atlantic union van lines still exist who charge reasonably and provide good services. My move with them went very smoothly. None of my furniture suffered any kind of damages on the way and the company maintained their timing to the T. Given how efficient they are, I suppose a price hike is inevitable in near future. I'd still hire them though because finding such efficient movers is a rarity these days.

This is not an ordinary company. I have used many moving companies because I have to relocate a lot for the sake of my job. So, when I booked my move with Atlantic union van lines I knew what to expect. I was not dreaming of having a hassle free move. But they made sure that I dream from the next time. Their 5 men team arrived on time for the pickup and checked all the boxes we packed. They found some packing mistakes in about 8-10 boxes. They wrapped and boxed all those items again and then loaded everything very carefully. There were so many fragile items but nothing suffered the journey. After the delivery we checked the inventory and nothing found unwanted. In other words, these guys made sure I got a lot more than what I was looking for.
