Save yourself the heartache

This experience moving was the worst ever. The packers and the movers did not communicate. Packers said movers would pack big things but when they got there to move, they looked confused and had no idea about packing big things so my tv, pictures and computers just got thrown in somewhere. Things were left behind at our old location. Then when moving to our new location they lied about it all coming at once when indeed they moved some of the stuff to a storage unit locally then took off to another move. So we had 3 guys arrive the day of the move with two UHAUL trucks - not even their company trucks - really? They had to hire some random local guys to come assist them with the move. All our clothes and linens smelled horrible and some things molded though I was told it was climate control. My couch still smells to this day no matter how much I have tried to clean it. My rugs are disgusting smelling. My furniture was beat up. No protective covering on many things and you can tell from all the nicks. They lost the screws to my sons bunk beds so they couldn't even put it together. My desk was taken apart and completely messed up. Now I have big screw marks on the top. My piano has a big chunk taken off the legs. A filing cabinet has been pushed under in the back. Stools, and many many platters were broken. I had over 10 large picture frames cracked, some to the point they can't be used. Golf caddy completely destroyed. NOW, here is where it really gets me. They lost my wedding picture that can't be replaced...seriously how do you lose a wedding picture??? Also 2 computer monitors gone....how? Then the owner says they were not on your inventory list....what inventory list????? I never gave them an inventory list and I never saw them put an inventory list together so how can you say they were not on my inventory list. Other moves I have done, put a sticker on every item and handed me a many page inventory list. Coming in to give me a quote and looking around to see what is in my house, does not count as an inventory list. I would like to see that inventory list. I spoke to the owner many times after constantly calling. My fridge was totally messed up on the outside with marks, scratches and dents (even dropping it on my new house hard wood floors and denting them too). I was told by the owner oh that will buff out...nope no one has buffed it out. And then he asked if I had boys and proceeded to tell me that it is nothing compared to when my boys get interested in knives and takes one and carves in my oven door. What does that have to do with the price of egg in China with my fridge? And no my boys better never do that and know better not to ever do it. Oh and can I mention the antique wall clock that was broken into pieces and put into a bag? There is no way this clock can get fixed.
